We live very close to this restaurant and have been coming here for 20 plus years since we were kids. Prices have definitely gone up since we started going but that's everywhere. I have never had a dish here that I haven't liked. After trying probably about little over half the menu, I can safely say the food is fresh and authentic. I ordered the fajita burrito with chicken and she ordered the Diablo shrimp! My order came and I started eating it but was questioning what I ordered! 1st visit my wife and I ordered the ground beef nacho appetizer which we found really not to be to our liking however some may find it just fine. We decided not to order any additional food due to the fact that we did not care for the taste. For the most part service was quite good although our waitress was brand new and did not really understand the menu which made things a little problematic. The ambiance unfortunately was a little bit distracting because the manager was doing all kinds of restaurant paperwork at a table across from ours while he was munching on a nice tasty bag of Pepperidge Farm cookies. I believe this place is probably great for drinks as it has a fairly large bar I can't really say whether or not the food is good or not just not to our liking in addition based on that fact along with the high prices my wife and I will probably not be going back. read more

I really wanted to love it, but I didn't it's been a few months since I arrived and I've been craving Mexican food. So I read reviews, looked at menus and asked around - sadly it seems like no one has a Mexican restaurant they think is amazing. We decided to give Casa Villa a try, there was no one there but it was the middle of the afternoon on a sunday - the sign said open so in we went. We were seated and a nice young man can to our table with chips and salsa (best part of the meal) and took our drink order. I was with a friend, catching up so we chatted before ordering. When we did order my girlfriend ordered the shrimp quesadillas and I ordered shrimp tacos. When the food came, my girlfriend received the shrimp fajita quesadillas and I received fish tacos. Since the tacos were wrapped in foil, until I open them I did not discover that they were not shrimp. No one came back to check on us And we did not see anyone waiting tables and we were hungry, so I ate them. My friend shrimp quesadillas were very good but much larger than what she thought she was getting since she was ordering off of the lunch menu. My fish tacos were so spicy that it obliterated my taste, bud. I like spicy food, usually spicier than most places will make it so this was very very spicy. And there was no cooling agent, there was no sour cream or anything to take the bite away. The avocado salsa was pretty tasteless and so was the rice. Overall the food was a complete waste in my eyes. The saving grace was the waiter was nice, he checked the ticket and it was the kitchens fault - he had taken care to ask details about our orders so I believe him. I just wished someone had checked right back to see how our food was. There was no one there, we should have had great service and food. I would not return. read more

My friend and I visited this location more than a year ago. We came in around 4pm on a Sunday when it was very slow. We were sat almost right away and the rest of the service was very quick as well. For the appetizer I ordered the Cheese Dip and our main the Seafood Fajita. Fresh nachos with salsa were served immediately followed by the arrival of our queso. Very fair price ($4.25) for the quantity that is served. Melty hot cheese that lasted even when our fajitas arrived ($21.99). We only ordered one serving and the both of us together couldn't even finish it. The menu states it comes with fish, shrimp, scallops, bell peppers, and onions. We were pleasantly surprised when we also found imitation crab added in. Everything was steaming hot, well seasoned, and very filling. You can choose between corn or flour tortillas to accompany your rice, salad, and refried beans. Overall I highly recommend visiting this Mexican Restaurant if you are in the area. Great food, price, and service all in one. Next time I visit I'll for sure be ordering some dessert. read more

Went to diner there tonight party of four. The best thing we ate tonight was the tortilla chips and salsa brought to the table prior to ordering. After that it was down hill from there. The street corn was old frozen half size ears of corn that had no flavor and was dried. No side plates to eat the apps with. Napkins are a commodity. So... We eat at A LOT of Mexican restaurants. And I have never seen such an expensive one- especially for what you get! Not one real entree is less than $20. Taco platters are almost $20! Kids meals are 9.99. The meal in my photo was 24.99. It was good, but 15.99 good. Fajitas are over $20 and burritos are $20. This place is wild with prices!!! I'd understand if the portion was so huge if made sense...but it's not. The portions are very average at best. This place's prices are similar to a large city that serves high quality protein- not a small town next to Myrtle Beach. Super strange! We honestly would've left but we were with our kids and it was just too much of a hassle. We have been here several other times before the prices were this steep! They have raised the prices within the year so beware. The only normal priced thing is the cheese quesadilla for 6.99. We had our kids get that because it was less than the kids meal. The complimentary chips and salsa are tasty. The beers are normal priced- my husband got a bottle beer and it was 3.50. Just heads up your bill will be very pricey. We were frequent diners at Casa Villa then we stopped due to their constant price increases. We decided to give them another try after we reviewed their menu (including prices) at their web site and noticed that their prices were more in line with the competition. So we go there on December 13th, sit down, get comfy, and start reviewing the menu. To our surprise, the prices were almost double to what they advertise on their web site. So we thought that maybe the quality and quantity of their food would justify their exorbitant prices. We both ordered the chimichangas at $21.99 per person (the price online was $10.99). Although they were good (not exceptional), they were small, and the accompanied rice was "pasty", they failed on quality and they failed on quantity. Lesson learned! Don't believe everything you read. We'll never go back there and spend our hard-earned money on mediocre food. read more

Wow!!! I've been to many Mexican restaurants in my life but Casa Villa is at the tops of the list. I ordered the Casa enchiladas and they were amazing. Each had their own unique taste. My wife had the Chicken Quesadillas and they were the best she's had. I have tried many Mexican Restaurants in the area but this, so far, tops them all. Service was spot on and the ambience made you feel like you were in Mexico. I would highly recommend Casa Villa. Their menu is well put together and has many options. Our first visit. Someone suggested we try it and the rest is history!! The best menu selections and they totally exceeded our expectations. THIS PLACE WAS PHENOMENAL ! A total 10 out of 10. Lunch portions were very generous. Will be trying Happy Hour and the Cinco de Maya party on Tuesday! Be really to have a great time, excellent food made fresh every day. And we both wanted to just eat their salsa with a spoon!! Believe me when I say we've traveled many many places (even Mexico and all the surrounding areas) but this BY FAR beats them hands down. Cute place, clean, nice staff, great service. Chips were warm and tasty and the salsa was fresh and had good flavor. The margaritas were eh. Could only taste lime mix that was mildly watered down. Not sure there was tequila or triple sec in the drink...and no actual lime. That was a real bummer. The chilies rellenos was quite good...not battered and fried, which is the way I prefer it and not many places make it that way. The ground beef and chicken really didn't have much flavor which was disappointing (enchilada and chimi)...that extra tastiness would have brought this up to a 4 stars. After driving by this restaurant for several years while driving from Myrtle to Wilmington, my wife and I finally decided to try it out. We arrived around 1pm and they weren't very busy as there were only one other table occupied. The first thing I noticed was the inside seemed old and rundown. The bathrooms were very nice and clean and looked to be updated. The food was about average but the prices weee way above average. I ordered the chicken fajita burrito and it was $16. I told my wife for that price it's probably a large burrito and we may want to share one. I'm glad we didn't, the burrito was small and good, but nothing great. At any other Mexican restaurant it would have been a 8.99 burrito. Overall, everything was very expensive, and I don't mind that if I'm sitting in a nice restaurant but this place didn't do it for me. read more

Way over priced. (They just increased their prices greatly. We've been coming here for years on our annual vacation and aren't sure if we'll return.) Just my family of four was over $100. Vegan Friendly Option While assured the night before on the phone that the refried beans, rice and flour tortillas were made without lard or other animal ingredients when I arrived I double checked and was confidently assured they were made without animals. I had the lunch Veggie Fajitas which while not on the menu were immediately offered when I asked about their availability as part of their lunch specials. The fajitas were very good and while cooked in oil not soaked like some places do. Good salsa. LOVE the outdoor seating.
