Food was great, I ordered Nachos Supreme with beans and sour cream on the side and Pollo Chicken. All was wonderful. Our server was good too, checked on us multiple times and refilled my drink. The ambiance is fun too as they have colored chairs and they have a small roof within the building so its like your sitting in your own villa? Overall good experience. HEADS UP for those out of town. THE TAX IN HORRY County is horrendous. 10% then another 5% then 1% card fee. Ended up paying like $10 in taxes on our food :/ only down side of the place. Apparently its a local thing. After almost 2 years of living here going to food lion I would never think of going. My wife as usual wanted to go. We went in was greeted and we sat down. The restaurant was clean updated. I did not expect how it looked. We ordered food to Ingrid who was amazing and the atmosphere was upbeat. I had a burrito and wife had enchiladas. The portions are big so we had some to take home. The service was extremely slow even though the place was not at all busy. The chips and salsa were nothing to recommend. The salsa was just tomato sauce, sweet with no spices or seasoning. The chips were cold and hard. The chicken entree was fair, no Mexican flavorings at all. When the bill came there was a charge added for using a credit card. Lá Hacienda is a classy Mexican restaurant. When I went there first time it was filled with people and you could feel the happiness. Wow!!! This is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever dined at. Where do I begin? Margaritas are delicious! Queso is amazing! The fajitas are huge - usually enough for two people. You'd think they would welcome customers! Table top was sticky which should have been our first sign! Chips and salsa was bad- salsa looked like puréed tomatoes with absolutely no flavor. Doesn't look like much from the outside. I know it was a little drive from our resort in the surfside beach area. However the reviews were speaking highly of this place and we figured we would try. We are glad we follow reviews. The inside feels almost like you're dining in a little courtyard. You get unlimited chips and salsa, the combinations are tasty and good portions. The fried ice cream hit the spot for a post lunch dessert, too. I would drive back out here on our next visit. read more

Hubby has been hounding me to try his new favorite restaurant so I finally caved on a Sunday early evening (around 8pm). We walk in and all is normal and we are greeted at the door. We chose to sit at the bar as the service is usually better and quicker there. Plus, I'm a heavy drinker - I can drink 3 or 4+ cups of water, tea or soda during one meal easily. Let me tell ya, I felt like a little kid at the bar because the bar top was neck level. lol All is going well. Mostly waited on efficiently and pleasantly enough. Although, it would be hard pressed to find a staff member SMILING in this joint. I ordered the Quesadilla Fajita and boy was that delicious. The serving size was quite huge, too. Took half home but it wasn't as good the next day. But don't let that get ya as I do NOT like leftovers... I'm trying to get to that place.... But not there yet. My iced tea was filled without running out or asking until it happened. Tall dude wearing all black and doing something behind the bar counter. "Excuse me, sir? May I please have some more iced tea?" He gets a thoroughly disgusted look on his face, snatches the glass which is empty except for the "used" ice and a straw. He literally walks over to the ice box and USES THE GLASS WITH MY ICE AND MY STRAW AND SCOOPS MORE ICE INTO THE CUP!!!! USING THE CUP!!! Not a scooper. MY. CUP. Yes. Re-read that. I was dumbfounded. I looked at my husband and we both were in shock. Then this lovely gentlemen goes OUT OF SITE to fill my glass back up with iced tea. Oh H-E-double-hockey-stick to the NO am I gonna drink out of that glass after that display!! Not going to happen. He came back and put it in front of me and walked away. My husband turned to me and said, Boy, he does not like you at ALL! I could easily give this place one star just for his disgusting behavior and attitude but because the food was quite yummy and the other staff treated me nicely, I'll give them a 3-star rating. Not so sure I'll come back with Hubby or anyone else for that matter. It'll be a long time so that I can hopefully forget about what will become forever known as the "Iced Tea Incident". lol read more

Advise of friends, we are trying dinner here. 7:30 pm Saturday night. Had to park in back of the restaurant cause the lot was full. Quite busy and loud, but got seated right away. The chicken taquitos lacked any flavor, but using the salsa from the chips made them good. The #19, one chalup, one enchilada, one burrito...I choose beef, received chicken, but I was starving, so I ate them. Flavorful. Super impressed! Our family loves Mexican food, but we tend to disagree on which establishments have the best food. I prefer more traditional Mexican food, my sister prefers more Americanized, and the other family members are somewhere in between. In our party of 6, everyone left full and happy. Not anything to write home about. Quite lackluster - nothing better than my rural IL hometown could do.
