Ambiance is lovely--great decor, comfortable seating, a gorgeous bar, and live music. Fun cocktails and a solid wine list (though the "by the glass" options are a bit limited). Ultimately, though, I think the ambiance and service are doing the heaviest lifting here--it's a bit of a "vibe dining" spot. The food is definitely good, don't get me wrong...but it's not "wow," which was a little disappointing given that you're gonna be spending $$$$. (Most entrees are $30+ and they're pretty standard fare that's not especially inventive--steaks, a few pastas, obligatory short rib dish, elevated burgers, salmon.) We liked everything just fine but I didn't taste a dish that made me go "oh man, I gotta come back for that." Instead I'm thinking "maybe I should try something else next time I'm in." I do like that your entree comes with a salad. The physical menu itself could also use some work, as its quality doesn't match the care and luxury atmosphere of the place overall. Numerous misspellings and a lack of specificity on ingredients in several of the dishes that leave the diner unclear on what, exactly, they're getting. For example, there's an entree that's described simply as "grilled chicken breast served with rosemary potato wedges and grilled zucchini." Are there spices or sauces on that chicken? Are we talking just plain salt/pep? Herbs? What? Anyway, it's fine. It's a solid date night option. We'll be back.

I love a local feeling bar, and this really hit the spot. Servers were amazing and very knowledgeable, in addition to the place feeling very cozy and intimate--it may be hard to get seating on a busy night, FYI! Three of us got cocktails (all very balanced and super delicious), and one of us got a local beer. Honestly, I wish I had this near me! The cocktails are what you'd expect to pay at a cocktail place ($11-15), but they were all worth it! If you're ever in West Reading on the Avenue, you should really check out the Bar Cart! It's a must visit.
