Had a work dinner here with a large group. The wait staff was extremely attentive and friendly. The fillet mignon was tender and very flavorful. Really nice place

Brussel sprout hash

I like dimly lit restaurants, but I would saynl it was almost too dark inside. With that being said, I apologize for my dark photos, I didn't want to light up the room with a flash. My kansas city ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare with a purple center. I was pleasantly surprised that it came with green beans and Yukon gold smashed potatoes. Usually at this type of restaurant everything is a la carte. I will almost never complain about too much bacon, but my Brussel sprout hash had more bacon than Brussel sprouts. I didn't get a picture of the cheesecake because it vanished once it hit the plate. Absolutely deliciously and was finished with a torch on top. The service was excellent as I would expect at this type of establishment, but always appreciated.

Asparagus and potatoes

This place is good but not great. Let me start with the great things: the appetizer, the soccer dishes, the desert, and the service. I love the Filet Crostini; it's underordered and underestimated. The other items are ordered much more frequently because they are safe such as calamari and Charcuterie Board but I think the gorgonzola sauce makes this dish. The side dishes such as baked potatoes (looks kind of like mashed) and asparagus are seasoned to perfection. I also love the arugula salad; it has a lovely citrus balance to it. The Mac and cheese I think is a must with whatever your getting. The texture and taste again balanced out the streak For dessert, the peanut butter chocolate indulgence is a good choice. Very sweet though so unless you love that sugar, share with someone. Shout out to my service Alli who was phenomenal at attending and explaining everything. She really knew her stuff and tended to all our needs before we even needed to ask So for the "ok" part. The soup we got (French onion) way way way too salty. I am fan of seasoning but holy... After 2 spoonfuls it was inedible. Now, the surprising "ok" factor for me was the steak itself. I get med rare (always and forever). The steak came out parts borderline raw. I did have it sent back which only made it slightly better. I understand that a big steak is hard to cook and the middle ain't going to be perfect but holy.... I hope they were using a temperature gauge at least cause it was for sure rare/blue rare level initially. I would have preferred everything else to be ok and the steak great cause you know ... It's a steak house. The experience is good; ambiance is good. Food was ok.

Brooklyn and Peach cosmopolitan

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary here last Monday. We started with drinks (Brooklyn for me which is a version of an Old Fashioned (so smooth) and a peach cosmopolitan for my wife) along with calamari and fresh bread. (We asked for more bread when our dinner came out... it was that good) The pieces of calamari were thicker than we're used to but delicious with the provided sauce. For dinner, I had the 8 oz Filet (medium) which wasn't seasoned much but so tender. Great if you want to taste the steak. Came with asparagus and butter-garlic fingerling potatoes (chefs choice) along with a second Brooklyn ;) My wife had the lobster ravioli. She thought the lobster was good but wished the sauce was creamier. She ordered a side of the bacon/brown sugar Brussels sprouts which she liked a lot along with a Brooklyn :) Our waitress was on point.... She was there when we needed her but not absent or overcrowding. She even brought two glasses of Prosecco (on the house) after finding out we were celebrating. Very thoughtful and unexpected. Overall the experience was great and romantic. Didn't feel like we were in Berks county until we walked outside. :( lol

Finding your way upstairs adds to the speakeasy-style charm. The reception area alone sets the vibe: playful, stylish, and full of photo-worthy moments before you even sit down. It feels like you've discovered something not everyone knows about. We went with the small plate prix fixe menu (three courses), and each dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and -- most importantly -- delicious. Every course left us wanting just a little more, which is exactly how a tasting-style experience should feel. Nothing felt rushed, and the pacing of the food was on point. Cocktails were also excellent, creative, well-balanced, and fitting for the ambiance. The only hiccup of the night was drink service being a bit slow. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but noticeable. Overall, a great Restaurant Week experience in a space that feels both intimate and fun. I'll absolutely be back to explore the full menu soon.

Little did we know that would be the continual theme as we were only given a choice of one of the 4 appetizers(one being warm olives) , two of the four entrees and ended up receiving what felt like the leftovers. It was truly a disappointing experience. Their manager let us know that because we prepaid there was nothing they could do that night. Just avoid this experience all together and perhaps find a date night somewhere you are able to spend time together rather than hangry.

Ambiance is lovely--great decor, comfortable seating, a gorgeous bar, and live music. Fun cocktails and a solid wine list (though the "by the glass" options are a bit limited). Ultimately, though, I think the ambiance and service are doing the heaviest lifting here--it's a bit of a "vibe dining" spot. The food is definitely good, don't get me wrong...but it's not "wow," which was a little disappointing given that you're gonna be spending $$$$. (Most entrees are $30+ and they're pretty standard fare that's not especially inventive--steaks, a few pastas, obligatory short rib dish, elevated burgers, salmon.) We liked everything just fine but I didn't taste a dish that made me go "oh man, I gotta come back for that." Instead I'm thinking "maybe I should try something else next time I'm in." I do like that your entree comes with a salad. The physical menu itself could also use some work, as its quality doesn't match the care and luxury atmosphere of the place overall. Numerous misspellings and a lack of specificity on ingredients in several of the dishes that leave the diner unclear on what, exactly, they're getting. For example, there's an entree that's described simply as "grilled chicken breast served with rosemary potato wedges and grilled zucchini." Are there spices or sauces on that chicken? Are we talking just plain salt/pep? Herbs? What? Anyway, it's fine. It's a solid date night option. We'll be back.

It reminded me of a restaurant that should be in Rittenhouse Square or the like. The menu was extensive and high-end. It would've been nice if they had offered bread at the start though which they didn't. We had the tuna tartare appetizer. It was delicious and very filling. My boyfriend got the lobster mac and cheese, which was absolutely delicious. However, there wasn't much lobster. The side salads were good. I ordered lamb which I should have asked questions because I was expecting a rack of lamb and what I got was a stewed hunk of lamb on a bone next to a mushy pile of polenta covered in what looks like marinara sauce I wanted to give a four star review for this because that's not something I would've enjoyed eating and I sent it back however somebody else might've liked it very much. In fact, I think the people sitting across from us ate every last scrap of that same dish off their plate, however, I wouldn't have liked it at all. I wish I had ordered one of their steak options, which sounded delicious. I shared some of the lobster mac & cheese, and ate a lot of the appetizer so I didn't end up ordering another entrée. We would definitely go back. I just have to read them many more carefully and ask questions.

Very admirable and apparently they do this often to support other causes, as well. We were happy to dine at a restaurant that cares about the local community. That's what got me (& my wife) in the door. Now, for the brass tacks: Atmosphere: Very nice looking place. Clean. Lively. Loved the front window open on a warm day and the outdoor seating as we walked in. Service: Hostess and Server were both very friendly, attentive and helpful. Both checked in on us, often. Which, for us, is super important not to feel forgotten. No problem here. Food: Uncorkd Burger (sub grilled chicken), Vegetable Risotto w/Salmon, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Homemade Vanilla Bread Pudding Cake & Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake. My wife said, convincingly, that the Grilled Chicken Burger was good. (and that's saying something. (She's super picky about chicken sandwiches) My Vegetable Salmon Risotto was terrific. Fresh, bright, creamy, & flavorful. The salmon may have been cooked slightly over, but only slightly. Cheesesteak Egg Rolls were very good. Not made in-house. The desserts were delicious. Bread pudding with Caramel Drizzle! Oh my! Light & Delicious. Stick Toffee Pudding Cake with a decadent dark chocolate sauce. Delightful. We took those desserts to go and had them at home. Delicious. Terrific experience, tonight. I would go back in a heartbeat. Certainly would recommend. 4.2

It probably has the least amount of seating of the bunch, so combined with their no reservation policy, timing is everything. Weekdays are usually pretty calm, but weekends are a madhouse. Sunday hours are also a bit tighter, open from 9am to 1pm instead of the usual 8am-2pm, so something to be aware of. The food, service, and decor all get high marks. Bonus points for serving sides of jelly in miniature sealable jars. When I see jars, it tells me the owner isn't cheaping out on anything. You won't find any stinkin' plastic ramekins here. Only earthen, stoneware plates and shiny copper mule mugs. Fresh is the rare boutique-class brunchery that respects diners' space by generously giving it to them. With its compact storefront, it was a pleasant surprise to see they didn't try to cram as many tables as physically possible in the dining room. That means on even the busiest of days, you aren't forced to sit on top of your neighbor. This property has an interesting history, having been home to one of my favorite brunch spots back in the day, Bistro 614. Then, back in 2014 it burned down, managed to rebuild and reopen a little over a year later before closing down for good in 2019. Years went by where it was just a barren, neglected empty shell, and people started to wonder if anything, much less a bistro replacement, would ever move in. Our prayers were answered in 2022, and with its opening Fresh instantly became one of the trendier brunch destinations in town. Going more for quaint than SoHo chic, dining here feels like visiting an old friend, an old friend who burned down and bummed around aimlessly for a long, dark stretch, but came back better than ever.
