It was good. Very pricey but good. The service and the environment I don't think lends itself to the prices they are charging. Loud people at the bar right next to people eating. Was not crowded at all No bread to the table. They charge a credit card fee which is funny because my credit card is the reason I went there for a promo. I had the scallops and they were pretty good. Not much of a side on these. Wife had braised short rib and that was a good size portion and she enjoyed it. Would like to try the 2nd floor if we go here again. read more

This restaurant is what kids in the 90's referred to as a "Monet". It looks great from far away, but up close it's just a big mess. While visiting from California, we met friends here as halfway point, not knowing what we were walking into so completely bias and giving this place a full chance. It's beautiful inside and out; so why is it so dead? The service was more than subpar. The place was really empty inside, but it took about 10-15 minutes for all of us to get our cocktails and they all came out at different times, so none of us had them together. What's more, due to food allergies and sensitivities, I requested my salad with dressing on the side, with shrimp; because I'm allergic to chicken. My salad came out smothered in dressing, with no protein. The server returned to our table and apologized for the missing protein, taking the salads back to the kitchen and returning with mine topped with chicken... 2 of our meals were completely wrong. At the end of the meal, two salads and and a couple glasses of wine were $93... I have to give them 3 stars. It was just alright at the end of the day. read more

Alas West Reading Motor Club, we hardly knew ye. Sadly this place closed mere months after its grand opening back in September '23 after owner Adam Cocuzza fled PA amid allegations of, well let's just say "misappropriate behavior." Certainly unbecoming of an esteemed restaurateur. It's quite honestly a shame since his restaurants (such as Say Cheese) were highly regarded in West Reading. Before the proverbial doo doo hit the fan, the West Reading Motor Club (which I shall refer to simply as "MC" from here on out) managed to put on at least one notable show, that being Fall Restaurant Week. Sort of an extension of the Nitro Bar upstairs, the MC was meant to offer an upscale dining experience. The dining room was spacious with a high ceiling, though the tables were crammed uncomfortable close together. They may have inserted more tables for Restaurant Week. My next-door dining neighbors were pleasant folk, so not a huge deal. Super romantic in there. Lots of couples. Stylish back top tables, soft lighting, simply elegant all around. A handful of select dishes made the restaurant week menu to make the experience streamlined and help simplify things for the back of house. Still, the MC offered by far the most value out of all the other participating restaurants, making this a must-try during that frantic week. First course, a lovely mushroom bisque with perhaps the strongest mushroom flavor I have ever tasted in a soup. Lovely creamy texture, a starter fit for royalty. Next up, a classic - chicken marsala. I suppose I was going for a mushroom theme here, as they were plentiful in this dish as well. A most ender chicken cutlet smothered in marsala sauce on a bed of fluffy mashed potatoes is as comforting and delicious as it sounds. Expertly portioned, the first two courses went down without much resistance, leaving just the right amount of stomach real estate for dessert. I went with the chocolate cheese cake, which arrived as a frozen slab. Flavor was good, but man was it rich. Each bite took painfully long to chew to the point where my jaw was starting to ache. Even with dessert being the low point, the overall visit gave me hope for an emerging fine dining scene in West Reading. That took a turn for the worse, however, so the wait continues. The guts of this restaurant are presumably still in tact, so all it'll take is another savvy owner to scoop up the property and give it a go. Please, someone. read more

I have given several reviews about this place In my opinion the downstairs dining was good The 2nd floor bar area, I personally do not recommend it to eat. The bar staff is on point on our last visit ... The food was below average I sent them this message, called and left a message and no response... I need to vent .... I worked in the bar/restaurant business and I give a place 3 chances Awhile ago I had dinner upstairs with a friend from out of town and our meals was not what we expected Tuesday 9/2 three of us came in to the second floor and there was no service ( no one around to wait on us ) about 6:30 -7pm ... we left after 5 minutes Tonight 9/12 I had dinner upstairs with friends and I ordered the crab cake sliders ... it was fake fish diarrhea Even my dinning friends said it looked bad and one other person was not happy with their food I'm just being a customer that is not satisfied read more

Buckle up for a drive-through of West Reading Motor Club! It was a happy last night in eager anticipation of trying another great restaurant in the old neighborhood. We arrived at The Club at about 7:45pm. Restaurant half full and readily seated. Decor is very handsome and chic. The bathroom, single was spacious and filled with gold features (wanted to steal the tall trashcan, lolol). But I couldn't help but notice ceiling tiles buckling already from what looked of water damage (hmmm). Besides, we were greeted by our waitress and selected just tap water and a cocktail each. My fiancé had the Diablo and I had the Congressman. He enjoyed his drink. But I DIED for my drink. I am a dirty and pickletini freak and this one was outstanding. The cornichon flavor was forward, bitey, and sweet. What a unique flavor! 10 stars! My fiancé put in for the mushroom soup and I for beef carpaccio to start. The mushroom soup was very smooth, no mushroom chunks and earthy but not creamy- a delight. The beef- yum! The arugula salad atop- YUM!!!! Bright, salty, not too much acid. I think the best dressed arugula salad I have ever had, honestly! These apps came out quickly, 15 mins at most. Then after our plates were cleared, we were given a warm ciabatta roll and butter with volcanic salt. Good bread and butter. Then we put in for entrees and.....we waited.......and waited.....and waited. Without seeing our waitress, let alone much staff around the restaurant at all. By this time the restaurant only had a few patrons. And we just sat. Nursed our drinks and wondered in the time. After about 45 mins we contemplated if we should call it. Literally I started getting up to ask on our food, and the food came. And our server came without a smile and like we were the ones that made her disappear, lolol. Fiancé dined on the special- we were intrigued, Chicken Oscar???!! Crab and chicken- ok. He said it was good. Did not fall off the bone, but an unusual combo that worked. I had the salmon. The risotto was a bit salty. I love salt, but I would say if you are NaCl sensitive, they are heavy handed here. The risotto was smooth, not chewy or sticky, well done. But the salmon. At home cook tip- if you hard sear both sides of your salmon filet, it will be overcooked. And mine was. Definitely OD'ed. No dessert, readily paid the bill and ventured home. So, if I could give 3.5 stars, that would be my review. Downgrades for firm fish and long waits. Recommended for apps and cocktails. A well done addition West Reading, but the restaurant's presentation outshines the experience. read more

Fantastic & awful We went to see Therapy Barn, one of the best local bands ever . Incredible show, fun crowd, so overpriced drinks & food wd be well worth it since there was no cover charge. They have a good band line up. ...BUT Worst service I have ever seen. A friend & I at a small table all night, cd not get a menu, waiters ignored us all night. Went to the bar for drinks, one girl working her butt off, while another made a cocktail like it was a science experiment & manager (?) did nothing at all. Wanted to eat, but cd not. We made a reservation for a Monday which probably wasn't necessary, but I would suggest it for weekends. The table got a few cocktails to start and thought everything was refreshing and tasty. We then all got different dishes: lemon butter vegetable primavera, pork tenderloin roulade, seafood de la mare, and braised short ribs. We all absolutely loved our meals and ended with no leftovers, and I can say all dishes were equally delicious. Our server was attentive without being a "hover" waiter, the perfect level of attentiveness. I will certainly be back and hope we can celebrate more nights here. read more

very disappointing....although the atmosphere was lovely, we were put in a corner where were freezing.The Caesar salad was attractive but served with minimal dressing that didn't taste so great. My half sandwich had turkey on it but a sweet spread and brie that did not combine well. I struggled to eat it. The grilled chicken on my friends salad was reportedy bland without seasoning. My other friend was excited to learn about the special sauce comprising the mac and cheese but saddened by its lack luster taste. sorry. it was supposed to be a nice holiday luncheon and I was so disappointed. read more

I was excited to finally have dinner at West Reading Motorclub to celebrate our friends birthday. Today is Tuesday and I'm still upset about our dinner Saturday night. Worst fine dining experience ever. Arrived 7:30 pm. Dining room full and quickly emptied, we were the only table within the hour. Three out of eight of us received our cocktails while the others waited well over an hour, after repeated inquiries, and after some of the appetizers were served. Really? There was no cadence to this meal! Some got their appetizers, others waited and waited and well, waited. The main course was served well after 9:00pm. The food, mediocre with a hefty price tag. We shared our disappointment. Manager said it was a new restaurant. Ok, we'll give you some grace. But after researching, it opened the end of 2024? Kinks should be worked out by Sept '25. He comped our drinks and gave us four $50 gift certificates. Nice, but, when our friend's husband requested the birthday cake be served, the one he pre-ordered with a candle when he set the reservation and then, reminded the hostess of when we arrived, and, the one we asked the manager for before he left our table...we were delivered three boxed pieces of cake ignoring our friends request for his wife. The waiter was exhausted when we wanted a served piece of cake, plated, for our guest of honor so we could sing and celebrate her. By now it's almost 10:30 pm. Very disappointing. There is a serious lack of communication at this establishment, essential to running a high end restaurant. Decor was nice but, it ends there. Never again. read more

Less than impressed for a nearly $200 dinner. We visited the downstairs "fine dining" portion of WRMC. I'm not sure why they separated the two restaurants if they aren't going to provide a fine dining experience. All the waiters were running/rushing around all night which did not create a calming atmosphere. No bread service, no salads with the entree. Food took forever to come and when it did it was barely warm. Steak was undercooked for what was requested. Finished/dirty plates sat on the table for over 20 minutes. When the manager came over to check on us he didn't clear anything from the table. read more

Came in to try the lobster roll as it's one of my favorite foods. Very pretty ambience and staff was nice. Unfortunately the lobster was very over cooked and chewy so I couldn't finish. The fries were very good. Would come back to try something else but at their price point the food should be cooked properly. read more
