Took the time to professionally cut our cigars and pour a very fine scotch before engaging in comfortable conversation about the state of the world. I was there with my husband on February 4, 2023 for date night. He ordered chicken and I ordered the crabcakes. When I receive them, I thought the color looked a little off, but I thought it was maybe the way the chef had spiced them. I had eaten one and only picked at the other. After getting home, which took us about 40 minutes I started feeling nauseous and then I began throwing up. The next day I had horrible G.I. symptoms. I do believe there were something wrong with the crabcake, so I reached out by email on their website to let them know. I still have not heard anything back from anybody. Very disappointed with the quality of the food and the lack response by the owners for not reaching out. read more

Husband and I had an amazing Valentines Dinner. We spent the day in Wyomissing shopping and went to movies. We didn't make reservations anywhere and did not want to go to a chain steakhouse. The service at Suburban was fantastic and the filet mignon was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! It was better than the filets ai get at RUTH CHRIS for a fraction of the price!!! The filets were 8ozs, very thick, NOT butterflied and cooked to absolute perfection!!! I had an 8oz filet and crab cake NO FILLER and husband had a filet and a large lobster tail with salads, potatoes, and green beans for a bill of $90.00. Ruth Chris for two 6 oz filets and sides $180.00. Obviously we will be back and recommend to all our friends!! read more

This is one fine cigar lounge. Separate from the restaurant. Very good selection of cigars, friendly atmosphere and excellent bar choices. The owner is full of great cigar knowledge and better stories. Wish I could spend more time here as I'm just traveling through town. ***best cigar lounge in Reading**** I can only speak of my visit to the cigar lounge, but what an amazing one. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed and had help picking a cigar. A quick tour around, the lounge shown more than enough seating for many groups of people. The craft beer selection, while on the small side, was very good and I think the choices were those that will pair well with cigars. The chairs are comfortable the bathrooms were clean (enough for a cigar lounge). Even the other customers were friendly and polite. The only other cigar bar or lounge I've been to in my area is CI in Hamburg and this was so much more quaint and homely. Gotta be the best cigar lounge in the reading area. read more

Let me start by saying I can't comment on the Cigar bar, due to the fact we never ventured upstairs to see and smoke. You might ask Why??? Well our dinner and overall experience was so bad, I didn't want to spend another penny or minute in this dump. The décor is straight out of your uncle Ned's basement. (wood paneling, with enough lighting to land planes. Oh and the table cloth country flannel wall paper, felt like craft show was about to break out.) On to the food...I should've taken pictures...If I handed it to homeless man, he probably wouldn't said "no thanks." Then went back to his homeless buddies and said "don't bother dumpster diving at the Suburban. Their food doesn't even look appetizing." Let me back up to the drinks. Girlfriend is a ketel one drinking and order a dirty martini, while I order a old fashion (o.f). The martini was definitely not ketel, and my o.f was more likely jim beam than crown. We ordered the "Cigars" appetizer based upon other "yelp" reviews. Yeah, you can skip those. You know what, this place doesn't even deserve the review. It's in my top 5 of worst places to eat ever. read more

Then I went upstairs and found the lounge I was looking for the owner Gary loves his customers, made me feel extremely welcome gave me a grand tour ample humidor, three separate lounge areas each a little different however comfortable Small well stocked bar plenty of choices. read more

Was in Reading for business and had dinner at the Suburban Tavern on a very slow Wednesday night, we were the only people in the place the whole time we were there. We missed the place twice as it is right on the corner at the light and intersection of N 22nd and Perkiomen Ave and hard to see turning off 22nd. Parking is in back. Service was top notch in every way. The room was nice and the temperature comfortable on a cold winter's evening. I had the Chesapeake Chicken and he King Neptune Pasta. Neither was remarkable. Good but very ordinary and so so. Even the crab cake which was 100% crab lacked seasoning to make it special. The roasted corn chowder was thick and creamy, but again lacked seasoning to bring out it's best. The best part of the meal was dessert, Carmel apple pie a la mode. An unusual soft crust with apples well seasoned and a dip of good ice cream. Prices were on the higher side but in line for the type of food. read more

What a great spot! I was in from out of town and ran across this gem. Amazing food, and a fantastic cigar lounge with ample humidor. The beat part is proprietor who made us feel welcomed, knew his cigars, and treated us Ike kings. And his wife made a mean steak that was the best I've had in years. Waited nearly 2 hour for our food and had to send the steak back it was so bad. I felt bad for our poor waitress's because she was really sweet. They recently lost their chef and obviously whoever they hired is subpar. The pasta my bf had was barely edible; however, he was hungry so he ate it. Hopefully they get a new chef. Nice place, small but comfortable dining area, kind of has an old time feel, playing swing band music in background. We had some seafood dishes, wife's was a little overdone, mine great. The food was just ok. My appetizer was dry and had 3 sticks of meat on the plate with nothing else. My boyfriends meal was not good at all. The server was not knowledgable of the food either. I asked her for a recommendation and she could not give me one. Just simply young and inexperienced. Overall not a good experience here. read more

Enjoyed a very fine evening last night at the Suburban. The appetizers were outstanding (spring roll "cigars", hot Italian peppers, and Calamari. Main courses were delicious, and prices were quite reasonable, especially considering the quality. Our waitress had only been there three nights but was fantastic. read more

We always have a good experience here. The food is always great with many special seafood selections . The owners are very friendly people. The cigar bar upstairs is a perfect getaway. Usually we have dinner and drinks and spend around $55 for the two of us. Nice bar and bar menu too, if you're not in the mood for a full dinner. You will enjoy it. read more
