    Still our favorite special occasion restaurant after many years. It has a cool ambiance -you feel you've been transported into another world. The price fixe meal was delicious as usual. You start with a delicious harrira (lentil) soup followed by a mezze platter with a selection of spiced vegetables, hummus and tabbouleh. We usually get a lamb dish specific all the lamb rack (up-charge). It's breaded and broiled with seasonings and served with couscous. Every time we've had this, the lamb was so tender and flavorful-worth the few dollars more IMO. This little gem has been around for so many years, there's a reason why- the food, ambience and gracious service.

My favorite was their lentil soup and I loved their bread! The mint tea and biscotti were so good. I would love to go there again! The ambiance here was like being in Morocco.

    This place is a true gem in hawaii because it's so unique. It's a total experience from the moment you walk in and see beautiful patterns adorning the walls and ceilings. Everyone orders from their set menu and for $50+ per person it's a lot of delicious food. The server brings around warm water to cleanse your hands. Then you're served the most comforting lentil soup and a family style sharing of salads and bread. My favorites were the tabouleh, eggplant, and carrots. The plate in the picture looks small but it's actually a huge plate. The high light of the night was the chicken bastilla. A puffed pastry encasing ground curry flavored chicken with nuts and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. The textures of crunchy and soft and contrasting sweet and savory was perfection. You get to select your entree. I had their mahi mahi served with a tomato based sauce and bell peppers and raisins. It was so flavorful and the first pieces were cooked nicely. I sampled my friends lamb tagine which is like a braised preparation and the lamb kebab. Both were tender and not gamey. We added a side of couscous to share which ended up being too much food! For the finale, the server offers handwashing again and then brings out cups of Moroccan mint tea and a family style sharing of sweet funnel cake and biscotti. Overall I loved the flavors of every dish. It was delicious, unique, and a great atmosphere to just enjoy and not rush.

    Took a friend here because it was something different. This was the first time I had Moroccan food so I can't comment on how authentic it is. There's a few stalls in front and street parking. The restaurant inside has a Moroccan theme. The service was friendly. Food was tasty. It's a prix fix menu. The Harrira (lental) soup was very tasty. The morraccan salad is a combination of different items such as hummus, etc. I had the lamb tangines as my main course which was good. All in all a goid experience.

    First time trying Casablanca and I really enjoyed the experience. The decor was nice and service really friendly. They only have a set course menu and no ala carte so you'll want to check the menu if you're good with the options. The set menu comes with Harriira soup, Moroccan salad, b'stilla, choice of main course, and chabbakia with fresh mint tea. They do have a vegetarian main course option consisting of couscous and vegetables. Let them know if you're vegetarian so they can remove the chicken from the b'stilla. All the dishes were tasty and the soup and salad were my favorite. The dinner ended nicely with the tea. They wash your hands at the table and you can eat food with your hands or use utensils.

    Beautiful place to eat and great service. It's a set menu. You get to pick your main entree. Pace yourself because it's a good amount of food . The tables and chairs are not a traditional restaurant style. The table is lower and some will sit on cushions on the ground. I sat on the cushion on the ground and my back started hurting by the end of the night (just not used to it). So if you go with a group, I recommend getting a corner table, so less ppl sit on the ground cushions. The meal starts off with the server bringing warm water to the table to wash your hands. Each person gets a lentil soup. Perfect lentil to soup ratio. Delicious! The appetizer comes with an array of different salads to share as a table. The salads were all tasty and refreshing. The server brings house maid bread to eat with the salads. Next is B'stilla, a dough stuffed with minced chicken and almonds. I've never had this before so wasn't sure what to expect. It was delicious with the flavors of the saffron chicken and the almonds. But it was more dense than I had expected, so I didn't eat too much of it because I wanted to save room for my entree. For my entree, I chose the Cornish hen with preserved olives and lemon. RECOMMEND! The Cornish hen was so soft. Perfectly cooked. The preserved olives and lemon paired very nicely with Cornish hen. My friend ordered the lamb special. I usually don't order lamb because I'm scared its gamey but I had a bite of my the lamb and it surprised me! It wasn't gamey and was so moist! RECOMMEND! Dessert, you get a small funnel cake and home made biscotti. The funnel cake is crispy and sticky from the honey. I really liked the funnel cake. When you think it's done, the server brings out a cup of warm fresh mint tea. My friend dipped her biscotti into the tea (genius move). At the end, you get to wash your hands again and the server splashes orange blossom water onto your hands and on top of your head. It's a refreshing experience! There's a few parking spots out front. I would recommend Casablanca! It's a wonderful and unique dinning experience!

    Seems like quite a hidden gem! I've never heard of this place but a friend suggested it so we went to try it out since none of us had been. I think I drive past it once in a while but have never looked into it! I'm so glad we did though! The interior is so cute! It feels like you're in a completely different place, not in Kailua. It's also quite small so reservations are a good idea. We were sitting on cushions and it was so intimate. Our waitress was so kind and calm. She explained everything to us. We started with hand washing at the table and that was already such a unique experience. The menu is set mostly but you can choose your protein dish. There were so many courses and so much food. We started with soup, then a salad of different appetizer type options, then a phyllo dish which was maybe my favorite, then our lamb or fish dish, and then a dessert! We also finished with mint tea which was lovely. The food was all delicious and felt very authentic. I've never been to Morocco but feel like I was really able to have great experience of it here! It's also BYOB but you pay a fee per person. It was such a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone. Will be back!

    The decor is gives off total Moroccan vibes. Comfy benches, less comfy poufs, and Moroccan carpets on the wall. Tables are low to the ground and they have a fixed menu where you choose a main. They start with a delish lentil soup, then bring out a salad plate to share. Baba ganoush, the literal best hummus I think I have ever eaten (and I love hummus), marinated spiced carrots, and a cucumber salad. You get Moroccan bread to eat it with. Then they bring out the puff pastry with ground meat (also to share). You order your main and can share or eat it yourself. We tried the fish, chicken with lemons, chicken with prunes, rack of lamb special, lamb brochettes, and couscous with lamb. Everything was quite good! The servers were friendly. Be prepared for a leisurely dinner. And the mint tea is also so good. They are BYOB and several people had brought their own bottles. Corkage is $3/pp, which is quite reasonable.

    First time here and it's a cute little restaurant. Love how you sit on the little cushions, like kind of sitting on the ground but not lol. The spicy Moroccan coffee was my favorite

    This was such a different and interesting experience! Why? Because they don't give you utensils, you eat with your hands. They do come around at the beginning to help you wash your hands off. When you look at the menu, there is a list of the dishes you get that are shared amongst the table. All you need to do is choose the entree you want. The starter of lentil soup was amazing! I definitely didn't want the bowl to end. The appetizer sampler platter was also good and tasty. I chose the fish with a tomato based sauce for my entree and really liked it. I would say the only disappointing part was the dessert. We didn't really care for it as it was too sweet but that didn't ruin the meal as we were full. It's BYOB and there's a liquor store on the next block (around the corner) if you forget to bring something.

However it needs to be shared as I was not able to get in touch with the owner to handle this matter directly. From drafts to published, even if it is 11 months later. When Leila first opened I was very excited to check it out. So for my birthday this year, had a reservation made to celebrate. Unfortunately that day there was a tragic fatality on H3 and I got stuck in it, which would have caused me to miss our initial reservation. My friend called the restaurant to update and the manager let us push it back. He had to call back again as I was still stuck and the road was closed with no where to be able to turn around. He called the restaurant again and told me the manager gave him some attitude but that they'd "keep the kitchen open for us" and seat us late. He also mentioned the manager had some attitude as if he thought we were just trying to bounce on our reservation, strange. By the time I arrived at my friend's house, I was tired from being in traffic for 3ish hours but it was my birthday after all, so we drove to town. As we are about to walk into the restaurant, the door opens and a man shoulder checks me. I thought nothing of it, assuming a customer had one too many and was on his way out. We were sat and ordered a round of cocktails. The restaurant had a few open tables and some dinners in the midst of their meals. I noticed Leila's menu is a fixed price coursed menu not à la carte and I realized that given how late it now was (around 9:30pm) that I could not eat multiple courses as I normally don't eat a large amount so late in the evening. We told our server who until this point had been very friendly. The manager came over after and I was shocked to realized it was the same person who shoulder checked me upon entry. He starts angrily speaking at us about lost profits and revenue because we won't dine and that our table could have gone to someone else. I could not believe being spoken to like this as he continued on and raised his voice so others dining took notice. I've worked at restaurants in my younger years and such unprofessionalism from a manager toward a customer is unimaginable. After I firmly told him multiple times why were were late again, he dismissed the traffic and accident as if I'm lying to which I even tried showing him my cars gps tracking from the traffic. He continued to speak of his lost profits, which as a dinning customer is not my business or concern, found that very tacky behavior. I firmly told him I do not eat large meals so late so would only want one one entree not 4 but given his rude behavior I've lost all appetite and would like to pay for the drinks and leave. He comped our drinks, mostly so he could charge the no show fee I bet, because the charge showed up a few days later on the credit card. However even the customer service agent at the credit card company was in disbelief that when we called to explain she immediately reversed it. I tried to get a business card for the owner but failed and the manager hid like a coward in the open kitchen while we finished our drinks despite me asking the server for him to please give me the managers contact info. Because of this experience, I have zero desire to go back to Leila or frankly other establishments by the same owner, which is unfortunate as Miro was one of my favorites. The highlight for me was their take on Carbonara -- not a pasta dish, but just as indulgent, with slow-cooked egg, pancetta, and peas. Rich, comforting, and absolutely fabulous. The "extras" are not to be missed. The oysters were pristine, the Hokkaido uni brioche lived up to its reputation (a must-order!), and the focaccia was simply to die for -- crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, and perfectly timed to arrive alongside the carbonara. The beef cheek with homemade cavatelli was hearty, tender, and packed with flavor, while the meal ended on a perfect note with a classic crème brûlée. Leila's bar program deserves its own spotlight. Their cocktails are always among the best in town -- inventive, balanced, and downright fun. Even the mocktails are crafted with the same creativity; my mango lassi came topped with a thick, airy mango foam that turned a simple drink into a delightful surprise. Between the rotating menu, consistently excellent food, and inventive drinks, Leila is the kind of restaurant you want to return to again and again. Highly recommend making this a regular stop -- especially if you love being surprised by what's next.
