Oh my! My favorite Indian restaurant made its way to Kailua (thank goodness). I would crave new Kamana kitchen all the time but the drive, parking & wait time was such a headache at times but now there's no need to worry this new location is VERY small -- with two 4 top tables inside and two 2 top tables outside. But I walked in and placed a to go order and it was ready within 10 minutes. The mango lassi was so so yummy and creamy -- it barely made the 5 minute drive home. Everything I got was 10/10 delicious. I got the chicken tikka masala (spicy) and it actually had a very good kick. I also ordered the vegetable samosas and the garlic cheese naan. Small little Indian cuisine spot in a strip mall. Outside Table was so tiny, couldn't our full order do used a chair. It's sized for two having a single dish. So keep that in mind. There are only three tables inside, two slightly larger and a tiny one Take out is a better choice but we wanted to est there. We ordered chicken korma, butter chicken, butter naan, sweet lassi and mango lassi. Basmati rice comes with the entrees. Include 2 glasses of water and two dinner plates. So the naan and the rice had to go on a chair. There are only two chairs so we had to scramble to find a spare. Overall, the food is good. We enjoyed the butter chicken which was sweet, the chicken korma was ok, loved the naan, was puffy and slightly crisp. Fluffy basmati rice. The lassi's were delicious, both flavors. It was a wonderful lunch. Prices were reasonable , service was lovely. and we'll be back. Weird encounter which was quite Inappropriate. We were solicited by two young Mormon girls right in the middle of our meal. They just wouldn't leave, at least 10 minutes of random nothing. Kids need to learn manners. Everything was so good!! The butter chicken and naan though!! Easily the best I've had on island! The garlic naan was crispy and fresh and combined with the butter chicken sauce was phenomenal. The vegetable salad we got was not the freshest so would not get again. The cucumbers had tough skin and we had to spit out some seeds. We were so happy when this place opened. It's a small charming spot and most of the orders when we went were to go. A very long line of to go orders. But the team worked it efficiently and with a smile. The food was outstanding and such generous portions of chicken in the tikka. The sauces were so flavorful. Great location. I've found it difficult to find good Indian food in Kailua so feel blessed that New Kamana Kitchen 3 has arrived. The shrimp tikka masala is crave-worthy. My only gripe is that they don't list the mint chutney in their Postmates menu so you can get it only if you show up at their small brick and mortar spot (it's so small it's a stretch to call it a restaurant). read more

I never post, but we are huge Indian food fans and usually have to trek over the Pali when we're craving it. We were on our way to the bookstore when we caught the smell of Indian food... and our lunch plans instantly changed. Turns out it's completely new, new owners, new menu, new everything. We ordered the Lamb Vindaloo and Chicken Korma with butter and garlic naan, and we were absolutely delighted with both dishes. So flavorful and perfectly done. We were even greeted with a bow by a very kind gentleman (possibly the owner), who took the time to explain the food. You could tell he was genuinely proud of what they're serving, and rightfully so. So excited to have amazing Indian food in Kailua! Called in the order and it was ready for pickup in about 15 minutes. We got chicken tikka masala, samosa chat, and lamb kadhai (all at medium spice) and garlic naan - everything was crazy good. Medium heat was perfect. Flavors were on point. Terrible pickup experience. Checked in for a pickup order and the waitress said it wasn't ready yet and to wait a few minutes. After 45 minutes they told me they had issues and can't fill the order. Several other people waiting for orders also had the same terrible issue. Be careful ordering here they don't seem yet ready to handle customer orders timely. read more

The food was pretty good but the takeout containers are mostly plastic so they impart microplastics and plastic chemicals into your meal plus the containers are not recyclable and do not biodegrade. They do have some cardboard containers so I recommend asking for them. Would love to see more tables in the dining area to encourage dining in which would be the most environmentally friendly option. read more

We had such a beautiful experience here. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance felt warm and welcoming -- perfect for a cozy, rainy day in Kailua. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and every single thing we ordered was incredible. AAAAAAmazing. This was my first time at Kamana, and I ordered the chicken tandoori and palak paneer. Portion sizes are generous, and the tandoori came with a side of curry. There have been times when I've ordered tandoori from other places, and it was dry. This wasn't! I also ordered a side of raita that paired well with both. So full of flavor! We gave New Kamana Kitchen 3 a try tonite for our daughter's birthday dinner, and everything was so delicious!!! Generous portions, very flavorful sauces, and wonderful garlic naan and onion kulcha! I have ordered from this location 2 times and the food is excellent. I use to frequent the location downtown and I enjoyed the food there but I like to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with my meal but was told that there were planning to sell their own liqueur and I couldn't bring my own wine anymore. Apparently this has changed and all the 3 locations are now BYOB. This new location appears to be primarily a take out restaurant but it has a few small tables and seats to accomodate in house dining. read more

I'm so glad the New Kamana Kitchen #3 opened (in February 2026) so now Kailua has great Indian food! I ordered the Lamb Tikki Masala ($20.95) and Garlic Naan ($4.45) recently and it was onodelicious! One order was enough food for more than 2 people or in my case, enough food for more than 2 dinners. The tikki sauce was so thick so I actually diluted it but it was perfect for soaking up with that delicious garlicky naan. I ordered my lamb mild but next time, I will go for the medium spice. The woman who took my order is originally from Kathmandu, Nepal, so I know these recipes are authentic. I can hardly believe they cook the variety of dishes that are on the menu in their small kitchen but they obviously can -- and I intend to try out every dish! I really hope that this place is a success because Indian/Nepalese food is one of my most favorites and we deserve good Indian/Nepalese food on this side of the island! read more
