Alberto, the bartender, was awesome. The pineapple martini was good, but the strawberry caipirinha is way better made with a Brazilian rum. They give you a basket of chips with tuna dip, and you don't have to ask for it. It was good and the dip wasn't fishy at all. My kids tried the virgin strawberry daiquiri which they enjoyed. Everything we ordered was good. However, the crab stuffed shrimp can be better. The shrimp aren't big enough to be stuffed so the crab just sits on top of it. The shrimp were salty and the crab was not loaded down with any type of breading which was great for me. The steak ordered medium was perfect but the steaks ordered medium well were a bit on the medium side in the middle. The garlic sauce served on the lobster was really good. The shrimp and lobster Alfredo pasta was the best and the seafood pasta was good as well. The grilled octopus was tender and not chewy at all but 2 pieces would have been worthy. The conch balls are ok. I couldn't taste much conch. My only complaint is that while the stuffed shrimp and seafood pasta were a bit over salted, the steak was a bit under seasoned. A downgraded experience tonight. Valet is $10. Better park yourself nearby. The host was absent when we got in and we waited for a few minutes. Not a huge deal breaker, but normally we are instantly greeted and seated. After they appeared checkin was a breeze. It was busy tonight, a Tuesday. Perhaps holiday season. Their was quite a rowdy boat docked with loud music and running engine that had fumes affecting our seat outside. Management tried to ask them to tone the music down, but still let them be obnoxious. They almost hit a boat while parking and hitting then dock again when leaving. The seemingly intoxicated 20 somethings had no manners and spoiled the mood for more than just my table. At least turn your engine off while other patrons are trying to eat. The fish dip freebie is still outstanding. They do charge $1 extra if you request another. Not a huge deal. Worth it and probably cuts down on abuse as wastage. Four large crab legs rang in at $65. They were good, albeit pricey and a bit more than was quoted by our waitress. Oysters are a steal here. A dozen for $18, but not greatly shucked and lacking some flavor. My lobster ravioli and shrimp looked fantastic and was reminiscent of my go to dish in the past, but the seafood quality seemed diminished tonight. Shrimp was lacking flavor. I couldn't recognize the lobster in the ravioli. This has been one of my staple favorites in Miami for a while, so it's hard for me to give it a two star drop. Tonight it teetered on a three star drop. Rounding it up as historically it's been fantastic. Every place can have an off night. The view was still nice and with the weather so nice out, it's hard to beat the outdoor seating. read more

I eat out every week in 3-4 restaurants and I have been to all of the restaurants on the river , I went to Casablanca tonight because Garcias sea food closes early and I didn't make it on time so we decided to try Casablanca. First set back was they charge you 25.00 for parking even though you are actually having dinner at the restaurant , employee from the restaurant told me it is a separate company from the rest. I had a lobster Thermidor and my girlfriend had fettuccine with lobster and shrimp and it was the worst meal we both have had in years. Even the tail of the shrimp wasn't removed on a white sauce pasta which you can barely cut or remove it since it's so creamy. Do not bother going to this place. Horrible. read more

I enjoyed a phenomenal birthday dinner at Casablanca. We were excited for the complimentary fish dip - never experienced that before! We shared a cup of lobster bisque - absolutely delicious! It was smooth and had nice chunks of lobster in it. I tried the snapper pan-seared with a side of lemon butter - recommended sauce by our server. Every last bite was sooo good and I loved the little crunch on the snapper. My boyfriend had the grouper sandwich, fried, and it too was just delectable. The grouper filet was thick and juicy - he could barely finish! The service was great - very friendly and timed perfectly. Despite coming towards the end of hours, we never felt rushed to order and eat. The views were great as we were situated right on the river and had great views of skyscrapers and passing boats. Unfortunately this was one of my WORST experiences here I've ever had. I have come to eat at Casablanca for years with my father and little brother (probably have come for countless weekends over the span of nearly 15 years). Last night, I took my friend who was from out of town and was treated horribly. I made reservations for 9pm with an outside water view table and when I arrived (on time) they told me they would not be able to seat me because there were no available tables and to wait by the bar. They said the wait would be about 25 minutes (Which was already crazy since I made a reservation). No one led me to the bar area so I had to make my way there alone. We waited for about 10 minutes before someone came to take our drink or appetizer order (we ordered cod fritters). After about 15 more minutes, an order came and it was wrong (conch fritters), nonetheless we accepted this defeat and kept going, trying to make our night the best while at the bar. They emphasize we needed to pay for the conch fritters at the bar before going to our tables (I felt as if there was a hidden undertone and racism involved thinking we would run out and not pay for our tab of conch fritters...). They didn't tell us our table was ready just that we had to pay. We asked if our table was ready and they said yes.. Maybe that is a policy to close out at the bar, but there is a certain way to tell a customer their table is ready and to close out before moving. Instead they demanded rudely and didn't even offer to help us move our appetizer to our table. They finally sat us in the furthest back part of the restaurant, crammed to the wall and we proceeded to eat our wrong order. They moved us yet again without announcing just shifting our stuff over and tell us to get up, one table away from the wall (thank goodness). We FINALLY were given our first glasses of water since sitting at the bar and new napkins after about 10 minutes of waiting. We were not even given menus yet at this point and they had already started to serve a new large table behind us. We sat at our new table for about 15 more minutes and realized no one had come to greet us to let us know they were our waiter, nobody checked on what we wanted to order for our main course, and nobody asked us what drinks we would like to order. My friend and I were extremely frustrated and decided to leave the premises. As we waited outside for our Uber a woman ran out and appeared with the conch fritters rudely saying "Are you going to pay for this?" We replied and told her we had already paid for it at the bar because they had forced us to... This question from her felt very racist and targeted as it seemed since we had arrived, they already expected us to not pay for our food hence the atrocious service. The only reason this experience is appalling to me is because I consider myself a regular at this restaurant. I saw familiar worker faces and was treated very different in this experience than I ever was when I came with family. I usually recommend this restaurant for the amazing view and authentic fresh seafood, but will no longer be doing so after being treated with such disrespect and disregard. Please never send anyone to eat here unless they want to be disrespected and please don't send them especially if they are Black. They will be disrespected to their face. I am so disappointed in this experience and will never be eating here again and will be telling friends and family the same. read more

Only thing good about this place is the view. My husband and I went for lunch. The food appears to be drop fried, from frozen or reheated. 18% gratuity automatically added to checks. There were only two of us. The place was empty and only (2) other patrons were there. We were sat right next to them on an immensely large outdoor dining area. $25 to valet and they parked it in their own handicapped space. Never again. Even when we didn't eat our food, it wasn't questioned. I had a burger and some octopus as an appetizer. The octopus was rubbery. I had really great octopus last night so I know what it's supposed to taste like. My burger (ordered medium) was so undercooked it was nestled in a pool of blood. My husband had the grouper soup. It was grouper and spaghetti noodles (nothing else) in what tasted like boxed chicken broth. He also had the conch fritters. He might as well have ordered hush puppies from Long John Silver's! I had the conch fritters which were perfectly fried and had that seafood taste to them great crunch, my piña colada was a bit sweet but had good amount of alcohol. Had the whole fried snapper and it was huge, they fried it exactly how I love it, had a lot of meat to it. Casablancas has always been a staple of the Miami river. Fabulous food and great seating on the open air patio along the Miami river. Who doesn't love this. Deep deep river. Best for watching big boats come through. Always fresh seafood. Large portions. Average prices. Not fantastic but also not breaking the bank. Bartenders have usually been helpful in narrowing down what to order when I'm having a dilemma. Fish sandwich (catch of the day) has been one of my go to's. Clams on the half shell also. Little don Julio doesn't hurt either. Great quality in their food their cocktails and their hospitality. Parking is meh. So so. I've had no issues. I've had some issues finding parking. In Downtown Miami next to the river, this place is a gem. We order for appetizers fish fingers and Beef tostones. Also, for our entree Lobster tail- 2 pounds with fries, a Crab stuffed Shrimp, Seafood saltado, and a grilled Seafood truffle risotto, the food was delicious. Our servers Claudia and Lucia were great always making sure we were taken care of, nice and attentive. The ambience was smooth and calm, people were parking their boats on the dock and getting off to have lunch at this place. Truly a hidden gem! I wish I knew of this place when I lived in Miami (original from Miami). I wouldn't say it is Cuban cuisine but definitely a Latin, Hispanic flare with a Spanish twist. It could have been 5 stars but there were a couple of things that didn't reach it for me. We were seated immediately with a reservation but parking is non-existent even with valet so plan ahead. They were very busy (Saturday night) but apparently had lots of server call-outs. Our waitress came to us after 20 mins and told us the situation and apologize for the long wait, but she immediately focused on us and was working very hard to take care us. It was a bit akward after being seated because the water boy gave us water, served chips and just walked away without any communication so we were left stranded for awhile. We went here for my birthday and my family got upset since it took forever for them to sing happy birthday to me with my choice of dessert, my family was sad that the service was not to par and just asked for the check and the dessert and to forget the singing. I did see our waitress being directive to her colleagues but they didn't seem to care. My last negative opinion is that the lobster was not cleaned properly as we all ate grits of sand. This place used to be a true gem. Things have changed a little. Food was mediocre due to the fried fish I had. Breading was extra crispy and wouldn't stick to the fish so I had to eat the fish and then get the breading to follow. Wasn't too bad but not to their old standards. Went on a very quiet night and sat by the river where only 2-3 tables were occupied but the peace and tranquility was constantly interrupted by the loud kitchen staff that continuously kept shouting between each other. Caesar salad would probably be better with half the cheese. Anyways glad I got to visit one more time an old Miami classic. read more

Went on a regular week day and ordered 2 Branzinos and It has been my best experience so far in Casa Blanca. The fish was fresh, soft and delicious and all the other components of the dish were on point as well. Server brought more dip & chips while we waited for the food so we were really full and didn't order any dessert. The dish is more than enough to fill anybody. Pros: Service was great. You can't beat the river scenery. The fish selection is good and fresh. Cons: Parking always make me hesitate about this place. The place is expensive. The hostages some how always have an attitude. This place is very similar to Garcías next door but with a more expensive menu. Overall I enjoyed my meal and the service was very good and super attentive. The atmosphere is super casual and most tables are outdoors next to river which can get very warm in the summer. I had the seafood grill which was ok but the seafood was mostly calamari with a few oysters and small pieces of octopus. Not worth the price ($39). My friends' entrees were all on the very small side although they were satisfied with the taste. The pina colada had a funny sweet taste did not at all taste like one. Couldn't finish it. Went to Casablanca for the first time with friends. Just so you're aware, finding parking is a pain. You're better off using valet. Appetizers: coconut shrimp was delicious! Crispy, fresh, and not greasy. Conch fritters were not my fav. I've actually had better fritters. Main Course: Mahi mahi was superb! Very fresh, not fishy at all. The onions and peppers were perfectly cooked and seasoned. This was definitely a meal I would eat again. My husband ordered the Chicken saltado and really enjoyed it. He's not much into seafood so it was nice that they had an option for non seafood lovers. It's also gluten free which was a plus. They never gave me an option but when I asked why I wasn't given that option and just charged VIP, they conveniently only had VIP valet. Won't go back. I have been here a couple times. Valet is small and not a lot of surrounding parking. This time around we came on a Saturday evening with no reservations. Valet was full but luckily we found parking. Hosts was very kind and helped us with a table outside. I would highly recommend a reservation on the weekends and request a table waterside. We had to wait about 30 mins but we didn't mind as long as we got to sit outside by the water. Server was really nice and efficient. My son's soda was flat and she was so kind to bring us a soda can. I ordered the lychee martini and it was ok. My dad ordered a corona and honestly they need a new fridge for the beers because it was not cold as a beer should be. Oysters on the half shell not so great either. They didn't taste fresh. Lobster bisque was excellent. Parrillada de marisco delicious. It is a must and good to share for two people. I have also had the grilled branzino with veggies and I would highly recommend. Overall food is ok service is better and view is great. The quality of food at Casablanca is always the same - great ! The service - tend to lack. The majority of staff do not speak English, seemed overwhelmed, hard to get their attention, some refuse to help as it's not their job.. anyhow, this is a place you go and expect to get poor service but good food! Food review: 1. Grilled octopus - absolutely amazing! They always nail it to make it taste divine with a splash of grilled flavor and sauces are awesome 2. Coconut shrimps - they taste just like coconuts + shrimps! Taste great 3. Whole deep fried red snapper - it is absolutely spectacular every time! It is super juicy, nicely cooked, flavorful, and melts in your mouth. All you need is to squeeze some lime (if you like it) and it's ready to eat ! 4. Caesar salad - no pic ; but It always taste really good ! Desserts: 1. Guava cheesecake - the best one ever ! I couldn't stop eating it! The flavors mix very well together.
