Kinda touristy but the food was petty good. Fried fish is the day was super fresh! Soo good. The seafood paella was also very good. The seafood was generous and plentiful. Service was friendly and attentive.
Catch of the Day was a mixed but decent happy hour experience. The vibe feels like a dive bar meets tourist spot. We ordered two dozen oysters, the seafood platter, margaritas, Uncle's Old Fashioned, and a bottle of wine. The oysters were fine, especially for a dollar each, but not my favorite I have had better in Miami. The seafood platter was also okay, nothing bad, just nothing that really stood out or made me crave it again. The margarita was really good and probably my favorite drink of the night. The Uncle's Old Fashioned was strong and definitely lived up to its name, very much tastes like your uncle made it. Prices are reasonable and it is an affordable spot overall.
Laid back seafood bar/restaurant with good happy hour specials. Even though this is my first review of Catch of the Day this is not my first time here. But it is the first time back in over 5-8 years. I'll begin this review with saying it's not the same as it was before. I came on Saturday night and it was mostly dead. Parking is obly valet. Its 3 bucks so its cheap but there is no other option. They had live music with a male/female duet and I truly felt bad for them. Service was somewhat friendly and easily accessible. The menu was loaded with specials but none for a Saturday night which may or may not be the reason no one else was there. I ordered a Becks beer and the lady looked shocked saying no one had ordered that in years. I was unsure if that was a joke or not as it's a quite common beer. Regardless it came out with a frosty mug and same with my second beer. As for the food, we ordered calamari which came with marinera sauce for dipping. It was quite possibly the worst marinera sauce. So watered down. The calamari itself tasted bland and tasteless. My wife and I also ordered the Big One Minute Snapper sandwich. Yes it was big but again flavorless. Which was deceiving because looks wise it looked amazing but nothing rewarding tastewise. My wife also agreed. We ended up eating it because it wasn't bad but it wasn't anything we would get again. We had also ordered some Frituritas de Bacalao which are Cod Fritters. The batter to cod ratio was totally off and it was more batter than anything else. Overall nothing really hit which could be just a bad night but from the lack of people that may speak more to how frequently "not great" the food is. Overall it's sad because I have good memories of this place and hoping they turn things around.
We had a great time here. My octopus was amazing. My wife loved her stone crabs. Great vibe on the patio. Our server, Mayrobys is a rock star. Always there for us. Highly recommend.

My husband and I were looking for a seafood restaurant in Miami and there's quite a bit of choices. Landed at this one as it's walking distance from our hotel. It is spacious but people choose to sit outside than inside. We had the: *Catch's Seafood Paella for one which I think is big enough for two. Nowhere close to Spanish paella but nonetheless yummy *Flying Crispy Whole Snapper: 1-1/2 to 2lb snapper simply fried is very delicious. Fresh seafood tastes best without much effort. I love this. It comes with rice but we had it swapped to salad. We came very hungry but this dinner filled us. Most definitely reminds me of home cooked fried fish with some salt sprinkling.
Visiting the area and came to Yelp to look for something nearby my hotel and found Catch of the Day. Looking over the previous reviews I have to say I was slightly concerned over past reviews of some folks. Well I can't say I seen any concerns at all. This place was a solid 4 star joint, maybe even a 4.5. The staff and our server were very polite and absolutely took care of us. As for the food: the wifey had the Shrimp Alfredo. It came out steaming hot and was a really nice size serving. The wifey liked it and even let me try and I also like the Alfredo taste. As for me, I had the fish and fries. The batter on the 3 large portions was really good and the fish tasted really good. I will say I bring a large appetite to each meal and this filled me up. We also had two regular sodas. Grand total was $55, which I think was fair considering the portions. As for the place: we walked but I seen that the parking lot could get full. They have an open covered eatting area and inside seating. We chose the outside which also had TVs for the games. So basically what I'm saying is eat here if you're looking for some decent seafood. Especially if you're staying at one of the nearby hotels.

Excellent service, def not a quiet spot. There is valet parking available but we ubered. Seafood was fresh. Crab legs were on the smaller side but still good. Margarita was strong. Bill was around $30 as person (service charge already added in).

It's located really close to the airport, so it's super convenient if you just landed or if you're staying nearby. The vibe is very casual, kind of like a mix between a seafood spot and a sports bar. They have a nice outdoor patio, a lot of TVs with sports on, and some nights they even have live music, which makes it really fun and lively. The food portions are big, so you really get your money's worth. I tried the whole fried snapper, which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside - that's probably one of the best dishes there. The fish tacos and calamari were also good, and a lot of people recommend the mahi and shrimp plate or the octopus with chimichurri. Honestly, the seafood feels fresh, and when it's cooked right, it's delicious. But to keep it real, not everything is perfect. Some dishes are just "okay" - like, they fill you up, but they don't
Fantastic top quality seafood, slightly pretentious vibe. Making reservations was easy. Tons of traffic getting there, but I think this is how it is in South Miami. This is a roomy upscale space with a separate downstairs bar and restaurant up above as well as in the back. We had a booth in the back, and despite the efforts at a dim, quiet ambience, we could hardly hear ourselves talk. In fact, it was so dim, we could barely read the menus! Portions were within expectation, and on the pricey side. A group of six at a nearby booth orDerec dessert, one of which was quite dramatic with fire, sparkling candles and melting deliciousness, as there were audible "yumms" all around. Paid parking is available about a block away.
Great service good food and we had live music. Very close to the airport. If you are staying at a Miami airport hotel it worth the trip.
Fettuccine pasta was supper salty. Can't bare the saltiness 1 star dish. Octopus dish was good and tender is a 5 star dish. Fettuccine was replaced this time its a 5 star. Very friendly waitresses.
I was staying at the Marriott Miami Airport, and I was looking for a seafood restaurant. The catch of the day was close by recommended. The restaurant was quite busy being a Saturday evening. I sat at the bar and immediately had service. I was recommended the special blackened grouper. The plate was served with rice and black beans. Overall it was very good and paired nicely with a glass of Chardonnay. On Saturday, visit the restaurant a bit early to avoid the crowds.
The restaurant is right next to the Sonesta where we are using a Dayuse pass after our cruise but before our flight tonight. They have a big patio; several TV's playing sports and misters when it's hot. It was a gorgeous breezy day today. We totally could have split one meal- HUGE portions and unfortunately; couldn't eat it all. It was very tasty however; the Cole slaw was lite and the fries were excellent. I felt bad we left so much- we couldn't take it with us since we were headed to the airport. Anyway, service was attentive - total bill was about $35 before tip. This restaurant is a seafood restaurant with a tourist feel. They have their own private parking lot with a parking attendant. They also have a small dining area with a bar in the middle and a decent-sized enclosed patio. We choose to sit out on the patio. We were lucky enough to get the piano table. The restaurant, as you would guess, serves mostly seafood, but also has burgers, soups, salads, and steak. They also have an unpublished kids' menu and happy hour specials. They also have live music on weekends; luckily, we missed it. I heard that it can get loud, and we were just getting over a cruise hangover. My kids got the pasta and the steak kids' meals. I got the Snapper Sandwich. Our food was ready in less than 10 minutes and was very hot. I will say that they have large portions. Our food was ok. Nothing special. My kids did not finish their food and said that it was just mahhhhhh. My sandwich was the same. It was very greasy and not much to write home about. I also got a side of sweet plantains, and they were really good. Our server was very attentive and friendly. He was very busy and kept up with the pace. I would say that this restaurant is actually a 3.5-star joint, but since that is not an option, I will say that it is closer to a 3 than a 4 based on the food. If you are in the area and looking for some seafood, i would probably give this spot some consideration. read more
We were lured in by the loud music. Unfortunately inside was just as loud as the enclosed patio. Our meals were pretty disappointing. My butterflies frief shrimp were clearly frozen from a box. I have never received frozen food at a seafood restaurant. The fries were a disaster. Clearly a new batch was barely cooked and then mixed in with old, hard, overcooked fries. His grilled chicken sandwich was okay. Service was fine. read more

We visited this place since it was just across the street from where we were staying. This restaurant has some interesting decor and gives the vibe of a truly daily catch feeling. We ordered fresh oysters, jambalaya and stone crab claws. The oysters were fresh and didn't have the smell we sometimes find in other places. The jambalaya was tasty too. We've never had stone crab before so we decided to give it a try and it was tasty, different from Dungeness crab. The claws were extremely hard to crack but thankfully they came partially cracked already so it saved us a lot of work. Overall I think this is a nice place and one that I likely will revisit when I'm in Miami again. read more

I'm not lying...the best sea food ever!! The staff is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about their cuisine. They have happy hour from 3pm-7pm everyday. And live music from Friday to Sunday. I love this place!! read more

Pay with cash only. I was at the Marriott complex across the street and frequented the restaurant 9 times. Comparing my receipts with my bank. A server named Camilo S added a dollar on 4 seperate occasions to a tab which I had already left a generous tip in addition to the 18% already included. Tried calling the restaurant numerous times to resolve this and no one answers. read more

Hanging in Miami and this place had a catchy name 'Catch of the Day' so we ventured out. Although I asked about the fried shrimp before I ordered them I didn't expect them to look like I am eating fried Shrimp from the fast food Chinese spot. I was disappointed. I was also disappointed with the chicken . I think I made bad choices with the food because I saw the table next to me had some type of seafood rice and other dishes that looked delicious. The drinks made up for my awful food selections. The drinks were nicely made and the presentation was awesome. The restaurant was very crowded and we arrived around 3pm. The restaurant was cleaned and we were seated right away. This is not a bad spot if you stay away from their fried shrimp. read more

We are staying at a hotel across the street and just wanted a bite to eat- somewhere in walking distance. It turned out to be a gem! The service was extremely attentive and helpful on recommendations- everyone seemed to be working as a team. The food came out fast, super hot but even better, AMAZING flavor. There wasn't one item we wouldn't get again next time we are in town. Prices were reasonable and the whole experience well worth it!! read more

My wife and I always are here at least 3 times a week and we will not stop coming here. We have been sitting at the bar for awhile now and the bartenders here are awesome! Frank, "Rafa" Rafael, Alain and Andres are far the best bartenders in Miami! Also the staff are very friendly and everyone that's a regular or if you're a person looking for a great local place to go to in Miami. Catch of the day is a place unmatched. If you've never been here, give it a try. Wilmer, Henry and all the staff is great. Including the kitchen staff and hostess as well. The owner Mike is great and it shows the way the atmosphere is. You will not be disappointed if you visit this place. Give it a try! read more

What a great little place this is. We ran into this place on accident and luckily for us. We arrived during happy hour and pretty much tried everything on the happy hour menu and it was awesome. If you are a local or visiting, I highly recommend this place as the service was great. The ambience was great and the food was great and the happy hour was even better! read more
We have been to this little restaurant twice now and both times the food was great. Excellent seafood. Dry close to the Miami airport and they are open late. We were there the first time with live music and it was fun. They allow smoking on the outdoor seating so be warned about that. The food is great and the service is too. It's like a Greg little dive bar that has great stuff. The drinks are very well made. Potent but flavorful. Not too sweet either. Try the Mango Mojoto...three words...de-lush-us!! And the fish is great. Fried whole or blackened. Sorry only one picture. I was busy eating. read more
Stopped In For a cup of soup and drink after landing in Miami. I had a very delicious Sangria but the fruit in the drink looked canned. Outside rim was fresh fruit. The soup was A+, wish I had ordered a bowl but it was already 2:00 and unsure what I'm going for dinner. Would come back or recommend to others. Took awhile for waiter to bring tab though. read more

This spot was recommended by hotel concierge for their good food and good happy hour selections. Unfortunately we went for dinner beyond the happy hour cutoff of 7pm. The happy hour menu did look appetizing. Be mindful the menu is well varied but with many advertisement interruptions. We ordered the large frozen Mango Margarita and Strawberry Mojito. The Margarita is huge so be prepared, definitely shareable. For entrees we ordered the Fried Snapper sandwich which has tail, fin, and all based on description. Not sure why they can't just filet this fish portion but was told that not an option but they do have a Mahi Mahi fillet option that can be grilled or fried. Just not the same in my opinion. Also ordered the 1 lobster tail entree scampi style with yellow rice and black beans. The lobster was overcooked rubbery. The scampi flavors would have been good had not been overcooked. Our waiter was nice but could have done a better job providing alternatives to what was really wanted based on menu availability. There is ample seating indoor and outdoor with live music on the patio. read more

Awesome customer service from the point of us sitting down to finishing our meal! Friendly and courteous wait staff suggested special appetizer and drinks! We had peel and eat shrimp and mango mojitos!! Then the entrees were suggested so we went with crab legs and a grilled lobster with rice and beans....everything was delicious!!! read more

This place was amazing. We went durning happy hour. Food was amazing and 10/10 recommend the mango tango mojito. The service was awesome and the manager was very personable. If you're in Miami and want to eat at an amazing place make sure you check this place out! read more

Be warned! Although the food was fine . Some of the employees are disgruntled even with a smile . I noticed when you pay THEY ONLY TAKE CARDS WITH CHIPS! Also they automatically charge you a gratuity fee automatically when you pay . Beware reporting to the AG and DA. read more
