This restaurant is a seafood restaurant with a tourist feel. They have their own private parking lot with a parking attendant. They also have a small dining area with a bar in the middle and a decent-sized enclosed patio. We choose to sit out on the patio. We were lucky enough to get the piano table. The restaurant, as you would guess, serves mostly seafood, but also has burgers, soups, salads, and steak. They also have an unpublished kids' menu and happy hour specials. They also have live music on weekends; luckily, we missed it. I heard that it can get loud, and we were just getting over a cruise hangover. My kids got the pasta and the steak kids' meals. I got the Snapper Sandwich. Our food was ready in less than 10 minutes and was very hot. I will say that they have large portions. Our food was ok. Nothing special. My kids did not finish their food and said that it was just mahhhhhh. My sandwich was the same. It was very greasy and not much to write home about. I also got a side of sweet plantains, and they were really good. Our server was very attentive and friendly. He was very busy and kept up with the pace. I would say that this restaurant is actually a 3.5-star joint, but since that is not an option, I will say that it is closer to a 3 than a 4 based on the food. Catch of the Day was a mixed but decent happy hour experience. The vibe feels like a dive bar meets tourist spot. We ordered two dozen oysters, the seafood platter, margaritas, Uncle's Old Fashioned, and a bottle of wine. The oysters were fine, especially for a dollar each, but not my favorite I have had better in Miami. But it is the first time back in over 5-8 years. I'll begin this review with saying it's not the same as it was before. I came on Saturday night and it was mostly dead. Parking is obly valet. Its 3 bucks so its cheap but there is no other option. They had live music with a male/female duet and I truly felt bad for them. Service was somewhat friendly and easily accessible. The menu was loaded with specials but none for a Saturday night which may or may not be the reason no one else was there. I ordered a Becks beer and the lady looked shocked saying no one had ordered that in years. I was unsure if that was a joke or not as it's a quite common beer. Regardless it came out with a frosty mug and same with my second beer. As for the food, we ordered calamari which came with marinera sauce for dipping. It was quite possibly the worst marinera sauce. So watered down. The calamari itself tasted bland and tasteless. My wife and I also ordered the Big One Minute Snapper sandwich. Yes it was big but again flavorless. Which was deceiving because looks wise it looked amazing but nothing rewarding tastewise. My wife also agreed. We ended up eating it because it wasn't bad but it wasn't anything we would get again. We had also ordered some Frituritas de Bacalao which are Cod Fritters. The batter to cod ratio was totally off and it was more batter than anything else. Overall nothing really hit which could be just a bad night but from the lack of people that may speak more to how frequently "not great" the food is. It is spacious but people choose to sit outside than inside. We had the: *Catch's Seafood Paella for one which I think is big enough for two. Looking over the previous reviews I have to say I was slightly concerned over past reviews of some folks. Well I can't say I seen any concerns at all. This place was a solid 4 star joint, maybe even a 4.5. The staff and our server were very polite and absolutely took care of us. As for the food: the wifey had the Shrimp Alfredo. It came out steaming hot and was a really nice size serving. The wifey liked it and even let me try and I also like the Alfredo taste. As for me, I had the fish and fries. The batter on the 3 large portions was really good and the fish tasted really good. I will say I bring a large appetite to each meal and this filled me up. We also had two regular sodas. Grand total was $55, which I think was fair considering the portions. As for the place: we walked but I seen that the parking lot could get full. They have an open covered eatting area and inside seating. We chose the outside which also had TVs for the games. So basically what I'm saying is eat here if you're looking for some decent seafood. We ordered fresh oysters, jambalaya and stone crab claws. The oysters were fresh and didn't have the smell we sometimes find in other places. The jambalaya was tasty too. We've never had stone crab before so we decided to give it a try and it was tasty, different from Dungeness crab. The claws were extremely hard to crack but thankfully they came partially cracked already so it saved us a lot of work. Hanging in Miami and this place had a catchy name 'Catch of the Day' so we ventured out. Although I asked about the fried shrimp before I ordered them I didn't expect them to look like I am eating fried Shrimp from the fast food Chinese spot. I was disappointed. I was also disappointed with the chicken . I think I made bad choices with the food because I saw the table next to me had some type of seafood rice and other dishes that looked delicious. We have been to this little restaurant twice now and both times the food was great. Excellent seafood. Dry close to the Miami airport and they are open late. We were there the first time with live music and it was fun. They allow smoking on the outdoor seating so be warned about that. The food is great and the service is too. It's like a Greg little dive bar that has great stuff. The drinks are very well made. Potent but flavorful. Not too sweet either. Try the Mango Mojoto...three words...de-lush-us!! This spot was recommended by hotel concierge for their good food and good happy hour selections. Unfortunately we went for dinner beyond the happy hour cutoff of 7pm. The happy hour menu did look appetizing. Be mindful the menu is well varied but with many advertisement interruptions. We ordered the large frozen Mango Margarita and Strawberry Mojito. The Margarita is huge so be prepared, definitely shareable. For entrees we ordered the Fried Snapper sandwich which has tail, fin, and all based on description. Not sure why they can't just filet this fish portion but was told that not an option but they do have a Mahi Mahi fillet option that can be grilled or fried. Just not the same in my opinion. Also ordered the 1 lobster tail entree scampi style with yellow rice and black beans. The lobster was overcooked rubbery. The scampi flavors would have been good had not been overcooked.
