So, I got a telephone call from the staff of Dr. Barnett today, after I had NOT been back to their office in at least 2 years, stating that they heard I was in the hospital with an infection (more than likely TMC sent over records on me, when I did not authorize them to fo do nor did I put Dr. Barnett down as my primary care doctor), and asking me for an update on my condition as to the TMC visit. I responded, "why are you calling me? And why 2 years later? And why about this condition, which you flat out told me you could no longer treat me or see me as a patient any-longer? I told her that I didn't authorize records to be sent to Dr. Barnett" She asked why. So i told her. I told her: Your office labeled me as a drug user / drug seeker over 2 years ago and told me that you couldn't see me anymore for this medical condition, im sure you remember or its in your notes? (my condition requires CS medications to be prescribed monthly, which i have been taking responsibly for over 12 years, due to a severed organ injury that i incurred during a routine surgery, and which require certain medication for pain control of the reflux of urine into my kidney.) She said there were no notes in the file, do i reminded her that your staff told me to seek a different physicians' assistance for this condition. I told her i was not a drug seeker or a drug user and I was offended by their comments and insinuations! Further, I told her that i was infuriated by your nurse, who at that time, lied to me, to get rid of me as a patient, and told me that Dr Barnett had received a letter from the state of AZ re my obtaining CS prescriptions, which was a BOLD FACED LIE! and because of this they would no longer prescribe me these medications. I asked the staff tech or nurse for a copy of the letter, which never existed, and it was NEVER produced to me. i told her your office lied to me and that was despicable behavior. I told her that at that time, I requested to remain the long term patient that i was and to be monitored so that i could remain a patient and I was denied this request. I told her that your office told me that due to this flag on my account, Dr Barnett could no longer see me as a patient for that particular medical condition and he could no longer prescribe those medications to me. So I left their practice and found a different doctor. And I told her that I researched their claims about a letter or a flag being sent, and i found out that there was no letter sent to them; and that they did in fact lie to me, which angered me further. The nurse who called me or Assistant whoever she was today, admitted there was no letter in my file Additionally, I told her I was not doing what they accused me of doing and that their comments were insulting and unprofessional. I told her that Dr. Barnett could've kept me on as a patient and monitored me every three months as to my medications and he could've continued to prescribed these medications to me and kept the relationship going, As other professional physicians would do, but instead of being professional, he or his staff chose and decided to opt for a different UNPROFESSIONAL method and insult me and as a result; slandered my medical reputation and made me feel badly about having the painful medical condition that I have. I told her that i did not at all, appreciate the manner they used, to ensure that I didn't ask them to prescribe these medications to me any longer. I told her, yes I could have seen him for other reasons, but why, and why would I if he did this to me for this condition? I told her that I left his practice professionally and cordially and i have not returned. But i was angry, thats for sure. And, I did not like getting a call from them 2 years later, especially under the circumstances and when they could care less about my health and about My serouus medical condition. I would NOT go to this office or Dr. Barnett for medical assistance or see this physician, Especially, as in doing this to me, they may do it to you also, and he certainly wouldn't be able to properly prescribe medications to you if you need a CS medication, especially for extended periods, or will he label you a drug seeker? And what if you have a serious medical condition that requires pain medication to be prescribed. If its once, maybe he will prescribe it, or maybe he wont! Hes not going to prescribe it for you if its long term and when there is a legitimate reason to prescribe it. There was no basis to sever the relationship or not prescribe or to fo it in the manner he chose. There were many other options and instead he chose none of them. In my opinion lying to me the way that they did about the reason they had to let me go as a patient for this condition may be reason alone to take a pass on going here. You decide. Is this medical malpractice? You decide. I expect an apology from him, AT THE LEAST! read more

I used to be happy with this doctor but the service at this location has gone to the dogs, not sure if they will let this actually be posted but ask questions before you go to this place, I will have to find a new doctor now that cares about the patient and has a front staff that hopefully has a little knowledge about what they are doing :( read more

Dr Kaplan is smart, knowledgable, and very personable. My wife and I have been coming here for two years. The staff is very accommodating as well. We have seen Dr Charles Kaplan and NP Lana Kessler and are very happy with both of them. Great practice! Highly Recommend! read more

Best team to have. NP Lana checked in with us everyday throughout our ordeal with COVID. My whole family has her and Dr. Kaplan. Warm, receptive, on top of things. . Front office team is always professional and helpful. Back team checks in, calls back, answers questions very helpful. read more

If we could give zero stars! Do not go here ! If practice was picked for you, take the time to find a better practice that isn't an older man Dr. Barnett that trys to follow the rules but can't remember his patience and patient status . I asked him to write me a letter he asked me " what do you want me to write !" this was a legal matter I shouldn't tell you what to write, I have no right to tell you what to write you are the primary physician . I don't recommend this primary physician for anybody. I was first seeing Debra Smith that was giving me a prescription that I did not need, she cause low blood sugar drop, cause seizures and blackouts from the sugar drops! I stayed away from this doctor and then started seeing Dr. Barnett since it was his practice. Now I have been dropped from the practice from missing appointments when my truck needed to get it's brakes and rotors put on and appointments I couldn't make it to, so I called in and let them know through also the patient portal. I was still dropped as a patient mostly because I have so many complaints, you go in you check in you show up 15 minutes early for your appointment still look to wait for an hour wait to get called back once you get called back, wait another hour in the doctor's room to be seen!! This office has THE WORST admin/phone/front desk staff of ANY MEDICAL OFFICE I have ever been to. My husband uses them. I DO NOT. If you like speaking to & dealing with rude, sarcastic, unprofessional support staff this might be the place for you. Also, if each and every time you visit, you enjoy being there 2 hrs or more because the doctor runs more than 2 hrs late, rush to your phone & make an appointment. Dr. Barnett has been made aware of his substandard staff many times. He does nothing. My husband has neurological issues making it very difficult for him to makes changes. That THE ONLY reason he still sees these dangerous clowns. They don't make the occasional error. Their standard of operating is dangerously sloppy & unprofessional. My dogs get better care & service at my veterinarian office. Although my vet is an exceptionally thorough & trusted professional, I expect at least that level of care for my husband. read more

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate Dr. Kaplan and Lana. My family has been with them for years -- we came to them after a recommendation from my then-pediatrician (who is also wonderful). After a streak a unsavory experiences with other physicians, Casa Adobe fits our needs perfectly. Personally, when I visit, I see Lana. I have only heard good things about Dr. Kaplan from other members of the family, however. Whenever I come in, there is only a short wait in the waiting room -- never more than five to ten minutes, which is unlike some other experiences I've had. The office is clean, and the receptionists at the front desk are helpful and friendly. I'm going to go in a tangent for a while about the front desk -- Julie and Megan are wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. I feel like this is important for people to know because the receptionist when you call in is your gatekeeper. If she can't help you reach the doctor or schedule an appointment, the nature and quality of the care you would or will receive is irrelevant. Every time I or another family member calls, we either have our business taken care of within a few minutes or we receive a very prompt call from Julie or Megan. They've even helped us out with dealing with very difficult people in hospitals who needed a physician's office to schedule an appointment, and they're always so friendly and understanding. As another example, my brother had a bad MRSA infection. He has some sensory issues and did not find the infection until it had swollen into a purple welt on his skin and was causing him pain. We called as soon as we knew, knowing that Dr. Kaplan and Lana were probably booked for the day, but maybe we could get some advice or direction. As soon as we explained our situation to the receptionist, she said that she would speak with Lana immediately, and she squeezed us in between two appointments. Now THAT shows dedication and compassion. My dad also got into a really bad accident, which involved his spine shattering in several places. He was hospitalized for a period of time, and when he returned home, he had very bad constipation due to the painkillers and other medication that the surgeon had prescribed for him. He was in terrible pain, and we didn't know what to do. The surgeon at the hospital wouldn't respond to our calls, and the receptionist there seemed very agitated at us for even bothering to ask. With nowhere else to turn, we decided to give our family physician a call in the late afternoon. Julie answered; she said that both Dr. Kaplan and Lana were out of the office, but she would figure something out. She returned our call a few minutes later -- she had managed to reach Lana through her personal number, and she gave us directions on how to ease the pain and move past the constipation. I'm very grateful for the quality of their care. Lana didn't have to respond after hours, but she did, which saved my dad a lot of pain and suffering. Lana really takes her time with me when I come in -- I never feel rushed, and she patiently answers my questions and addresses my concerns, whether it's through advice or prescribing medication. She is very thorough with explaining my different options and making sure that I understand all procedures and medications. She remembers things about me, like what my major was when I was studying, my favorite activities, and she even asks about my family. Lana is the perfect example of a passionate practitioner who is personable and reliable. If I could give this place ten stars, I would. My family has received excellent and professional care from Dr. Kaplan and Lana for the past seven or eight years, and I don't think there are better physicians out there. Showed up for a 9:30 appointment at 9:30. Was then told I was suppose to be there 15 minutes early and they would not see me. The girls at the front desk rudely claimed that they don't tell you this until they call to confirm your appointment. I never received this call because my phone was "busy" and they do not have time to leave their clients a voice mail. If the 15 minute early policy was so important why was I not told when I scheduled? or why not just make my appointment at 9:15? Glad I got to waste one of my few sick days looking for a new doctor. Too bad a waited weeks for this appointment. The worst part of it all is, in the few years I have gone here they have never been less than 45 minutes late getting to me.
