Cutest little alpaca farm ever. Careful though because they spit! You can get food for like $5 and they eat from your hands :) loved it!!!

A sweet, family-run farm featuring the cutest herd of alpacas (and big old sweetheart guard dogs) -- we stopped by for a farm tour and had an absolute blast, and it's just about a ~40 min drive from Seattle proper. The owners are seriously wonderful -- you can tell they care so much about what they do and their passion for their work is absolutely infectious. The tour is split up into a few sections, where we got to learn more about alpaca products, about alpacas in general, and then a feeding session. The alpacas are SO. CUTE. and they are very gentle -- I was pleasantly surprised by their goofy summer haircuts. They have tons of products made from the herd, including yarn. SO MUCH FUN! this was well worth the visit. it is a little far from main cities but for 13$ a ticket, about 30+mins of active petting and feeding time, it's such an awesome experience. they're super cute and friendly. they don't bite or kick from what I saw when we visited. the tour goes like this: -owner talks about alpacas and some of the products made from their wool for about 25mins -everyone goes out to the back area where you learn more about them and get to roam amongst them. - afterwards you'll go back into the gated area to feed them so if you like the ones sitting outside be sure to soak in their company because you don't get to return back to that area after moving inside to feed everyone gets a cup of feed. they are excited to come up to you but not excited to be petted lol. I never seen an alpaca up close so we decided to go visit Cascade Rose Alpacas in the Carnation area. Be sure to book online before showing up. We booked the first morning session tour. Got there a little early to look around and they are welcoming to let you take a look around the property. When your tour starts, they will make an announcement that it is starting, take attendance to make sure everyone is there etc. Before playing with the alpacas up close, they will have a learning session to talk about them and answer any questions etc. (The alpacas were recently shaved so they weren't as fluffy as I thought they would have looked). I just wanted to feed them!!! It's pretty fun feeding them, you may think they will bite your hand but their lips & tongue is doing all the work. The hosts gives you a cup full of feed for you to feed them, complete frenzy as the alpacas are ready to eat! Overall it was like an hour or so tour, learned a lot about alpacas, learned about their fur and products they can produce, the hosts were friendly and knowledgeable, the guard dog was one of my favorites of the day. It was fun and glad we stopped by to play with alpacas, be sure to read the website to get all the details, there's a little gift shop there, cleanup station to wash your hands from the feeding, a handful of parking spots for visitors, it was pretty well organized. This was so fun I went with my family and we did not book a tour sadly but still had a great experience you don't get be as close but still pretty close there a store where you could get gifts for your family made a alpacas fur and you can also get food for $4 to feed the alpacas but be careful because they can spit there separated by boys and girls the staff are also really nice they also have 2 goats and a few dogs when you drive in you park and you can go ahead and start petting them but they might not want you to pet them if you don't have food! Just a short drive from Redmond, this alpaca farm is worth a visit. You can stop by any time they're open to see the alpacas and visit their store, which has several items made with their alpacas' wool -- sweaters, hats, scarves, yarn, socks, etc. They also offer a tour that's very informative and allows you to feed the alpacas. There are also a few cute dogs (guarding the alpacas) and a couple of cats on their property. During the holidays they have "Fleece Navidad" where you can take a photo with an alpaca "reindeer" and a festive backdrop & grab some hot cocoa and a cookie. It makes for a great Christmas photo. I'm missing these furry friends already! My family and I had a wonderful time meeting several of the 75+ alpacas that call this farm home. With a Groupon discount, our admission was only around $5 / person, while the regular price is about $15 each. Currently, they offer tours on Friday/Saturday/Sunday with three time slots per day to choose from. I recommend calling at least a week ahead to book your tour as we had a difficult time contacting them. After leaving a message by phone and not hearing back for a couple days, we messaged them via FB and email only to get a reply back that we needed to call their phone number.... When finally reached them by phone, they said they would call us back in 30 minutes, but hours went by before we just decided to call again. Scheduling turned out to be more stressful than anticipated and ultimately tainted our first impression. However, all the stress melted away as we we drove up the path and caught our first glimpse of the adorable alpacas. We arrived about 20 minutes before our tour which gave us some time beforehand to walk around, capture some pictures and watch the alpacas from outside their pens. As a side note, be sure to pack a hand sanitizer as there's no true restroom, just a HoneyBucket... although they do have dish soap and a water pump outside for hand-washing as well. Tour groups are fairly small with just around 10 people. Once everyone arrived at the store, the owner provided us with some background information on breeding alpacas and the products woven from their soft fleece. She even passed around "raw" fleece that had not been processed nor washed. Every alpaca on the farm is named and the bundles of yarn they sell are all labeled with the name of the alpaca that contributed its fur, which I found was a thoughtful touch. The owner then led us out to the farm where the females and baby alpacas are segregated across the road from the males. She brought over a baby alpaca for us to pet; it was the cutest and its fur was the softest I've ever felt. For feeding time, we stepped into the gates with several male alpacas and three watch dogs. While the alpacas were eager to eat, I was surprised at how friendly and gentle they were overall. You'll have ample time for feeding and photo opportunities. Some of the alpacas patiently posed for a photo while others were more difficult to catch. Each one clearly had their own personality and I enjoyed every minute we had with them. Truly a joyous one-of-a-kind experience for all! read more

Everyone is always looking for a family friendly activity to do. Well, this is definitely a winner. Located in Carnation, this modest alpacas farm is simple, to the point, and very worthwhile. You can go, to have a look, and shop in the modest shop. Or you can sign up to a tour. Reservations are highly recommended, as they can max out for a given time slot. Tours are available typically twice a day, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only. Always call ahead to double check times and availability. Because the tour includes feeding the alpacas (SO MUCH FUN!!!!!), they limit how much feeding the alpacas are allowed (to stay healthy and not over-eat) and only a pre-selected group of alpacas are allowed to be with visitors (gentle and friendly). Currently, the tour is available via Groupon. That's how I discovered them. Highly, highly recommend the tour. The shop is very nifty too. Alpaca yarn are very special and naturally hypoallergenic. Drove in to the farm on a cold wet rainy typical WA weather and we were greeted by good boys (dogs) doing their jobs (barking). We saw some alpacas along the driveway, which we came to know are the males. We gathered in the barn away from the rain as our 1 hour tour started and our names were called. We were given a 15ish minute talk about how the interest of raising alpacas came to be, growing to become a self sustaining farm (along with some ads for their events, gift shop hand crafted products, and airbnb camp grounds), and the nature of alpacas. After that, we were led to a big pen of all the mother-female alpacas with their young. It was quite a crowded area, the alpacas got riled up seeing we will soon to have treats for them (feeding time!). The alpacas defecate quite frequently but thankfully most of it is cleaned up prior to feeding them. The alpacas will come up to you and will nudge you for the treats you're holding. It took some time to getting used to and turning my back away and scoot to another area to refrain from being cornered by a group of alpacas. (Hilarious image, but no seriously!) They are very gentle (with the exception of one) when feeding from your hand and they will instruct how to feed the alpacas. There's also one llama in the area to show the difference between a llama and alpaca. (Also very friendly). Overall, great experience and learning about alpacas. Be prepared to step on some mixture of alpaca food/poop/urine/mud. The alpacas will also rub their cute faces into your jackets in attempt to get your hidden treats. And hopefully you won't encounter the spit like some unlucky fellow in our group. Great place to pick up some Christmas or other wooly presents from the gift shop! read more

I took my husband here for his birthday because he loves Alpacas. I purchased the ticket deal through Groupon, a great deal! The animals are very well cared for and loved. The passion this family shows for their herd is evident in every way! We had a nice small intimate gathering. You get to feed and even pet them. Very up close! The tour includes an awesome educational talk about Alpacas, their products and care. I didn't know they have a pad upper front so they kind of nibble, or that their fur is hypoallergenic, water repellent, and... well I'll leave it there. Go make a reservation, make this a family day and learn about Alpacas! You'll fall in love by the time you leave. I did! Old guy at the place kept watching us from far away on a golf cart, which was very creepy. I waved and asked him to come over to chat, being that he kept staring at us. He was extremely rude the whole time to us. After asking a few questions he said "take your mask off if you want to talk to me." i told him I'm just trying to follow the rules to which he said "well i never wear one, so if you wanna talk to me you need to take it off." I told him we can be done chatting then since I'm not going to take it off. It was fun for about 5 min. we got a couple of little baggies of pellets to feed the alpacas, snapped a few pictures but felt less than welcomed by the staff and the items in the little shop were way overpriced and it's stuff you can buy cheaper online. Overall it's cute for the little ones but I've been to better alpaca/llama farms and rescues in Washington where the people running it are appreciative of the customers and tell you all about the animals. read more

For your information, alpaca is my favorite animal. They are the cutest living thing on the earth!!! My review might be bias with the cuteness of those cuties!!! I bought the 63%off coupon from Groupon so I ended up paying only $22 for alpacas tour for 4 people (about $5 each). The farm opens only on Friday to Sunday from 10AM to 4PM, and you need to called ahead to book a tour. You can choose the time you want ;11AM, 1PM, and 3PM. The owner recommended the earlier one since it gets hotter at the end of the day. However, the alpacas feeding will be in the shade so you won't feel very hot. The tour started with about 20 minuets information session inside the gift shop. They have many products made by alpacas fur both imported from Peru and made at the farm. The owner showed each alpacas product (raw fur, yarn, rugs, socks, etc.) and let us touch them. I found this part bored the kids a bit since they were not really care about the products. I think adding fun fact about alpacas or something kids can relate will make the tour more fun for them. Then, the owner took everyone to the alpacas field and showed us 1-3 weeks old baby alpacas. She carried the baby in her arms and that was so cute!!! If you follow their Facebook page, you will see how many alpaca born in this farm. The owner started with 10 alpacas and now they had breed 75+. The last part of the tour was feeding and petting alpacas. The alpacas were all cute, calm, and friendly. Wish I can buy them and take them home!!! The tour group was not big. There were only 7 persons in my group, so everyone really enjoyed the time with alpacas;no rushing, no fighting to feed or take pictures with alpacas. I got many good pictures with alpacas without other people in it!!!! Being able to go into the fence also made a big difference. I fed animals from outside the fence before, but the experience today was much better. My kids had a lot of fun playing with alpacas and dogs. There were 3 huge dogs guarding the alpacas, but they were friendly with kids. This place is about 2 miles from Remlinger farm. I purchased a Groupon to do a tour for two people. We drove up on a sunny, yet chilly afternoon. We were immediately greeted by alpacas coming up to the fence to see who the visitors were! The tour started in the gift shop where the owner of the farm explained about all types of alpaca fleece, how it's made, how the fleece is collected and a little tidbit about the farm and number of alpacas on the farm. After the little intro, you get to take a tour of the alpaca corrals. The first corral we got to go into was the female pen. Fall is a great time to go because there is an abundant amount of baby alpacas that were born in the summer. Once we finished with the first pen we moved over to the male pen where we got to feed the alpacas. This was prime picture taking time - although it's tough to get them to stay still (food always takes priority - even for the llamas). We had so much fun chatting with the owners of the farm we came back a few weeks later to enjoy 'Fleece Navidad' where we grabbed some friends and took holiday-themed pictures with one of the alpacas. I just left Cascade Rose Alpaca farm and I had the best time! I love alpacas because they're so cute and very sweet animals. I got a tour and got to pet the alpacas! They also have some very friendly farm dogs who love to be pet. I was able to hand feed the alpacas. We were lucky enough to go on a day where we got to see a brand new baby that had just been born. We saw it stand up for the first time and were able to see it up close. They also have an amazing store with beautiful alpaca fleece products. I bought gloves, a hat, and some amazing yarn.
