While the location may be a little bit on the rougher side, it is worth a visit. there is decent parking in the complex but can get busy. I found there were a decent selection of slot machines, and all spread out. It can be a bit confusing inside at first, but you get used to it. The staff were nice and that always helps an experience. read more

All unprofessional, inadequate. They have renovated and it's completely changed around. They have so many new machines. I was confused as to where things were when I was there recently -But the changes were good. It was really packed on a Friday night. I think they were having a big re-launch or something. It was too crowded for my liking, but it eventually tapered off. The glacier bar in the middle makes awesome frozen strawberry margaritas! Also food wise, the beef dip here is always good. Slots are super tight staff is really quite unfriendly and it amazes me that this place is still going. I will hand it to the hotel front desk they are wonderful helpful but stay clear of the casino. Small casino out in Langley. Tons of parking and a lot of empty spaces on a Saturday. Thought it would be busier. Spoke with a couple managers who approached us and/or that we asked questions to, polite and professional all the way. We ate brunch at the buffet which was the smallest buffet I've ever seen. Not much to choose from at all, especially for brunch, and mostly diner type food without seasoning. Required to stand in line for 10 minutes before they opened for the brunch which was a bit of a joke. Total joke if you win and need assistance. if you do anything to get any service the clown from head of security will just kick you out instead of apologizing for bad service, I waited over 45 minutes at a machine and they expected me to leave the machine, walk across the casino to search out service with no promise of my machine being reserved. They have the slowest customer service of all casinos and the head of security is the worst I have ever dealt with. I would suggest any Great Canadian casinos over Gateway as they are not professional or even understanding to any degree. This type of service has happened several times so this is not just a one time incident. Since re-opening after Covid, slots are ridiculously tight and if one does get a bonus, lot's of bells and whistles but little to nothing for payout. Getting a "fun" bonus is rare and or infrequent. The last 8 times I was there in past month, lost around $1000.00 each time... Hardly no bonuses at all and when a bonus did come about, would win around $4.00 or $9.00 etc. after feeding the machine over $300.00 - $400.00. Same results when betting $0.75 or $2.00 or $5.00 or even more per hit. One should be able to enjoy their time whether winning or losing however, Cascades has it set up where most individuals lose their money very quickly with little to no entertainment or fun. I liked the fact that you can't or no one smoked in the casino, unlike Las Vegas. But my only problem was thatt we had to walk around the entire Casino building to get to the buffet because no one under 19 can enter the "casino" area. I had 4 kids with me, 2 young ones who were sleeping and we had to. Carry out in the rain. I'm assuming the casino actually has no power to change this as it must be the law but it was such an inconvenience There needs to be a clear sign as to which entrance to use if you have children to enter the buffet. First night there, I won $768 on Roulette. Came back the next day and won $500. Hell yeah they're getting a good review from me! This casino is a bit smaller than what I'm used to in Washington, but it wasn't overcrowded by any means. Nice to see they have a smoking area outside and the inside isn't filled with smoke - Yuck! It was my first time in Langley and I didn't have internet on my phone, so I basically stayed at the casino since it was the only thing I could really find easily. Two stars is the average here; the quality of the food and the general experience varies greatly depending on day and time. Their "best" timing is usually the Mediterranean Night when there are less people visiting and the food is better than their non-themed (or other themes) setup. The experience on a day of "Occasion" such as Veterans Day is really bad and the same applies to every other time when they are running at capacity and have a line at the entrance. The following tend to happen: 1. The buffet itself is too small to cope with too many guests since the salad and cold section is placed on the same service line as the hot ditto. Simple result: Long wait for the hot food since "everyone" are "supposed" to line-up in the ONE AND ONLY line (which involve salad and cold cuts) EVEN when they are done with that part and just want to tackle the hot section. The older people visiting this buffet tend to complain otherwise (some of them even start to argue about them taking hot food AND salad on the same plate, hence the "natural" need to stand in a long line for the salad/cold cuts....). 2. Eating become a chore because of 1 due to the line-up, which make it very uncomfortable and annoying to use traditional buffet tactics (i.e. taking a plate with salads/cold cuts/appetizers, sit down and eat, then starting with the hot items etc). Putting everything together just because of inefficient design lessens the experience. 3. The food is too salty at times; Veterans Day became the "Sodium Day" due to the high levels in everything but the cold items. Oily items are also an issue at times, especially during their "Asian" night (I put it inside quotation marks since it is Westernized "Asian" food). 4. The dessert section isn't particularly great - soft ice cream with water melon is their "best" option since the rest tend to be sugary cheese cakes that doesn't taste anything particular. My rating would be a solid 1 star if I base it on that particular experience. It is evident that the buffet just can't handle that many people so a good warning sign is when a line is waiting at the entrance. Just do yourself a favour and go to a different place if there's that many guests. I would say that the buffet is "OK" during weekdays with less people and especially when compared to such a pitiful place as Grand Villa in Burnaby. If I am really harsh and compare it with other buffets I have experienced where the closest one (from Vancouver) would be the Tulalip I would also rate it below 2 stars; even more if I compare with something like Spice Market and Main Street Station in Las Vegas or what different ferries and cruise ships tend to offer. Even some local ferries operating short routes but with "roundtripping" (people sail back and forth while eating at the restaurant) offer better buffets. The Cascades Buffet works at weekdays as a "My First Buffet" type of place and feels a bit more maintained than Uncle Willy's but I must admit that the most interesting offering require a trip across the border to Tulalip, which is on a completely different level, including efficient service area design (i.e. no clashes between people waiting for different things since the areas are cleverly separated and placed). Edit: A final word. This buffet is OK value when having a 2-for-1 coupon. It is *not* worth the regular price per person ($19). The coupon lowers the price to a level that make it worthwhile, provided that the visit are to be during a weekday for the Mediterranean Night. read more

i ate at the buffet recently and quite enjoyed myself, I will be back for sure. Very good value in my opinion. One criticism though; terrible perogies! Like hockey pucks! Slots don't pay at all!! Don't recommend going there in the mornings. Or evenings as it is too busy, and there aren't enough machines to play! Security acts like they're tough guys instead of being cordial. Hard to take that "act" seriously! All around bad experience. I got the call first thing on Xmas morning when I was *hoping* to sleep in. Christmas brunch was cancelled cuz someone was sick. Plan B involved finding a restaurant that was open and meeting the folks halfway for lunch. Halfway from my place to thiers = Langley and the only place drunk Mom could find that was open was Cascades Casino. I don't think she searched very hard, I think this was just a ploy for her to play the slots and get drunk. Oh alcoholic Mom, good thing you fought for prohibition! We got to the casino and found our way to the "Xmas brunch buffet" which was hella nasty! We're talking liquid eggs that are all runny when you scoop 'em up, rock-hard hash browns, and crunchy pasta. Yes, crunchy. As in, I've been left out all night and got super dried out so the cheese on top isn't melted its CRUNCHY. Sickening! Everything was lukewarm which probably made this place a fairground for food poisoning, so I barely ate a thing. Nobody needs to spend Xmas day on the shitter for 12 hours, when they could be spending it with their dysfunctional family. The only thing worth eating was the cream of mushroom soup because it was actually hot and creamy, and I love all things hot and creamy... yea baby! Oh and I had two cookies that were probably imported from Safeway, and some Baileys and hot chocolate - cuz I might as well have something with substance. The breakfast cost like $24, (not including my boozey drink) which was a fucking joke, and everyone in my family actually found the whole experience quite comical by the end as we listened to the super obnoxious alarms on the slots machines ring out Xmas day "winners". Pretty tough yelpers here, think for being way out here in the burbs, ppl shld be happy somewhat there's some action here, and a decent size casino in a more than decent hotel--the Coast. So you know you're dealing with quality. And it's a nice casino, not ratty or anything. Safe too. I like how the lounge is right in the centre with prob a 60'' inch projector screen for sports. Stopped off at The Buffet this morning for a breakfast meeting before heading out for the day. The restaurant was very clean, service was prompt and it wasn't busy. The wait staff here are beyond lovely. Mind you we brought a baby with us so she kind of stole the show, but nonetheless, we were attended to promptly and the coffee was always full. Despite the name neither of us had the buffet. My colleague had the breakfast special while I had the eggs benny with a side of sauce (I love hollandaise so much, don't judge me). Breakfast came out quick, everything was hot but not overdone. My eggs were poached perfectly, what more can you ask for! The menu is hella limited, only something like five items, but let's be real... this isn't Denny's. The selection was decent though. No lemon with my hot water... Doesn't seem to be a page for the buffet inside this casino called The Buffet, so I'll write my blurb here. I don't tend to discriminate but this place was packed with old people, casino and buffet. Went here with my parents and uncles family. Buffet was $18 pp, nothing special, taste of food was average, nothing good, nothing bad. I always have an issue with the sanitary climate at buffets but that's not relevant. Cleaniness was subpar, there was a pair of knife and fork already on the table and while the cleaning lady was cleaning the table for us to be seated, she kept the possibly clean, possibly not, set and left it for me. Foodwise, they had pork, chicken, salmon (pink from the looks/taste of it but boneless) and roast beef. The highlight was the soft serve ice cream which you can get for a buck and some of the cakes i.e. cheese cake. Again, nothing special. re: the Buffet restaurant My partner and I (from coast) met his parents (from Thompson Country) for brunch at the Buffet restaurant in Cascades Casino (Langley). They were staying at the resort to attend a convention. After having had breakfast at the Buffet (part of convention), they thought it would be nice to treat us to it while they had their morning coffee. We were dismissed at the entrance having been told that no one enters without paying. Had our elderly parents known, they would have had us meet them inside the restaurant. The restaurant was not full. We had planned a day at establishment and not being permitted to eat without paying an EXTRA 2 meal entrance for elderly people, who had already paid, and were no longer eating, is poor hospitality. This establishment will no longer be graced with our custom and future considerations for group bookings will not be considered. Resort is undergoing upgrades. read more

We decided to try the Buffet at Casino when we were told the wait for the Buffet at casino in Burnaby would be one hour!!! Now we know why there is no wait in Langley. The food was awful; so bad the little I ate caused stomach problems later. Buffets are not my favourite as I worry about how long food is sitting and if safe. Apparently it's not safe at this one. Front counter staff was friendly (unlike Burnaby). The tables were messy and floors dirty. We wished we'd gone to grocery store and spent our $40 on a couple of steaks and eaten at home.
