We have learned on certain road trips to avoid hotels in crowded big cities. Parking was always an issue and often an added extra expense after the cost of the room... So here we are at the Silver Reef Casino. An open area outside of the crowds. We called the local number to make our reservations and to avoid these online reservations agencies that just inflate the prices. We ended up with a nice hotel with clean rooms. Our room has queen size beds with a medium firmness. This room is clean and spacious. It has a large flat screen TV, a decent sized mini fridge, a dresser for those of us who like to unpack. The A/C unit heats nicely. There is a large vanity for the bathroom and the tub shower offers shampoo and body wash. The bonus to staying at a casino hotel is the addition of security. Less worries about your car. Then there's the restaurants that are available, here there are 5. So there it is, well kept rooms, plenty of free, secure parking, and on site restaurants as well as some adult entertainment before getting some shut eye. Much more relaxing here instead of being in the crowded big cities with minimal parking. read more

Red River added poutine to the menu and it was not good. So salty its all you can taste. Also you get as many fries as you would as a side, very little gravy and they charged $15 for it. Over priced and would not recommend anyone waste your money on this. The waitress Carrie was amazing though! She has exemplary customer service skills and was very pleasant. The room in the newer wing of the casino was well appointed with an outstanding bathroom including multi-tiered shower. I could open the windows, and if you, like me, get lucky with an upper-floor, rear-facing window you can see open fields and a sunset. Don't face the parking lot if you don't like that depressing view of earth-destroying concrete and tin can vehicles. I can vouch for a booking and check-in experience that was professional. A nearby gas station is convenient for snacks/coffee if you don't want to traipse through the casino halls with jangling machines....because that is the only option. I was well taken care of here, and although I normally don't stay in casinos, the choices around here are limited. It supports the tribe and that is the only reason I stayed here. I wanted my money to support their administration. I note that the road design into the parking lot is horrendous with far too narrow entryways. I would make the contractor return and open up the entries into the parking lots. As a recommendation for improvement, clear signage in the vast parking lot could help people orient themselves to which of the two massive structures they should go into into --one is for hotel stay the other is for the casino. It's tough to drag your suitcase all the way from the vast open parking area upto one door only to be told you need to walk further to the "other" structure. The in-house restaurants looked dark and were not my cup of tea. This review is only for the room -- which was well-appointed and halfway to luxury. read more

Alright, I have been here 3 times, and this place does not disappoint... The service has consistently been excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable and the gaming experience is fun.. When I am there, I want to get a room, because I do not want to leave... It is a bit of a drive to get here for me, but it is worth it.... I do make the drive for the restaurants, and they have all kinds of places to eat, to cover whatever you want.... read more

Friendly and helpful staff abound! We enjoyed our two night stay. Very convenient for a bicycle trip to Lummi Island. Dinner , breakfast and a lunch to go prepared us for our the day adventure. They had some games that other casinos don't have, but I didn't like The coffee station had powdered cream, which is kind of nasty. We did have a piece of pizza that was good . As far as the room, it had a kind of a funny smell and it would be nice if the windows open, but they don't. Also, they have a pool that is the size of a lap pool very small. the parking is crazy, There is absolutely no parking there on the weekend even in the designated hotel parking lot it was also full. read more

We go here every month at the end of each month with friends. Great place to relax and recharge for are busy work schedules. We are seeing the brad williams show in November so looking forward to that. The pizza place is good I've eaten there once and would do it again, pizza slices are huge and flavorful. We also eat at the little restraunt the breakfasts are okay but not super good. Friends tried the Asian restraunt they said it wasn't very good so gonna stay away from that one. Think we will try the mexican cantina next time we go. Hotel rooms are really nice and relaxing, love the black out shades in the room. Room is a 10 out of 10. We will be back in August since July they are booked solid for the weekend we want to go. Gonna spend our 21st wedding anniversary there. read more

Accounting department and casino staff members are ignorant of IRS requirements for non-resident citizens, and OUTRIGHT REFUSE to educate themselves. They have set arbitrary rules for handpays that are not compliant with IRS Publication 505. They insist on treating a US citizen that happens to live in Canada, as a "non-resident alien" and thus provide them with an (incorrect) Non Resident Alien tax form (1042-S) and withhold 30% in taxes, rather than the (correct) W2G supplied to US Citizens with an option of tax withholding.. One phone call to the IRS could have resolved this issue, but it seems they couldn't be bothered. read more

Stayed here to go to a concert in BC and I will definitely be coming back. I stayed in a king suite and had a wonderful experience. Staff is friendly and quick I ordered more towels and received them in less than ten minutes. The bed was perfect and I got such great sleep. The shower was multiple shower heads and was amazing. I loved my stay over all and now I can't imagine staying anywhere else when visiting Canada. read more

Tonight was our 27th anniversary. We went for early dinner at Silver Reef's Red River Cafe, because they have prime rib every night and Zeke was hungry for it. I phoned in advance to make sure they could feed me safely. When we got there, I handed my (very restrictive) list of food sensitivities to our waitperson, and she took it to the kitchen. The manager showed up at our table shortly after to apologize for giving me incorrect information over the phone earlier. Then the kitchen undertook to make all my food (including mac & cheese) custom, from scratch. I was blown away! The food was delicious and the kind concern was over the top! Thanks!!! read more

This is the last stop on our whirlwind two country anniversary tour!! Tomorrow is back home to the real world. We like it here at Silver Reef. We always stay in the North tower ( it's the newer of the two). This time on the ground floor at the very end of the hall. I'm not a gamer but Mrs. Billy D. dabbles. Our usual routine is order from Panasia and eat in the room while watching TV. Yeah we're simple folk and we like it that way. This trip was no disappointment. The room was clean and sanitary. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I booked this hotel due to the numerous reviews on other hotel platforms as reviews stated how dog friendly they were. As we check in a skinny young man says "I see you have a dog, WE are not dog friendly." And a old woman who had just checked in says "I didn't think so", as she walked around my service dog laying at my feet. So not only are staff rude so are guests. I showed him where it stated sites reviewed them as pet friendly and he said they only partner with Expedia so they don't care what's on other sites. Even if I didn't have a dog I WOULD NOT STAY HERE. When I asked how long the refund to my card would be since I cancelled, they all just looked at me, Hello, someone want to answer? Attitude from all the desk members, they could have handled it in a much more polite way. Teach your staff and your guests how to handle situations that aren't black and white. read more

This casino recently updated their restaurants and their hotel's North Tower. If you have their rewards card, you even get a discount on food, based on your tier level. They no longer offer the buffet option, but I like to go there for the Panasia restaurant. Their red curry for $17 is really good and filling. read more

Subpar at best. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary with a nice night out & in a hotel. Over $200 for a room and we get to listen to a leaf blower at 7:30am on Sunday from our 6th floor room. Poor planning!!! No need to clean the sidewalks that early in the morning. We also had dinner at the Steakhouse. My husbands salmon was MUSHY, my steak was warm, not hot. I ordered medium and it was medium rare, our fries came out 5 minutes after our salmon & steak due to a back up in the kitchen and they were ice cold. Purely a review of the hotel. Came in for a quick overnight stay. We were up on the 6th floor diamond suites. The room was super spacious and clean with a nice seating area in the bathroom sink area. Bedrooms had robes in it and two layers of window blinds. I also appreciated how the floor was only accessible via room key. read more

This was a first time visit for me, I was surprised because from the outside it didn't look very big, but once inside it's decent size. Several slot games, dining and bar selections. There is a very tiny "smoking allowed area" and a hotel. However, this is very important note I'll mention for safety reasons, this place shuts off all cellular reception once inside! Everyone in our party lost all cellular connectivity until we reached the parking lot! For this reason, I can only give this casino a 2 star rating. It's very concerning to me that a casino would take such liberties as to remove the fundamental right to freedom of their customers, absolutely abhorrent! Experienced a rascist incident where an American 1st nations male individual was intimidating me while I was at a slot machine playing, since I'm a Asian male. Also, their comp structure & offerings not as good as before with change of management. I think they prefer Americans or people from their own band. Disappointing as I used to play regularly over the years, had many comps for rooms & food or play but don't feel safe there. Better stay & play in BC, (despite Silver reef's advertising here in Vancouver) or if you must go, head further to Tulalip or Snoqualmie, with a beautiful waterfall next door. Better yet, save up for Vegas where alcoholic drinks are complimentary if you're playing unlike stingy Canadian casinos that give you nothing but wants to take your money, while giving you a cheap thrill. The very bed would be to save your money, help others in need rather than dump your money chasing the delusional fantasy of getting rich via gambling. Room was standard. Blow dryer, single coffee maker, extra pillows and blankets. No fridge or microwave but ice machine on floor. Beautiful view from our room during sunset. Parking is scarce. FREE continental breakfast-fruit, yogurt, peaches, cereal, oatmeal, eggs(scrambled, hardboiled and spanish omelette style) toast, pastries, coffee, juices and waffles. You can pay more for sausage and bacon. Hotel staff was kind. Swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room on main level and designated time for adults in evening. Spa that provided facials and pedicures and manicures. Conference rooms looked nice. Overall great place. Hotel suggestion. 1. Provide smaller soap in each room. Seems to be wasteful due to hand sanitizers throughout the casino/hotel area. Most only stay one night and large bar of soap would not be cost effective for the hotel. 2. Coffee area located left side of hotel entrance to remain open during morning breakfast times. Friday and Saturday morning were closed. For those not wanting a buffet style gathering and just a cup, snack and go would be nice. 3. Bar area have designated location to order beverages. I was in the band- dance area. I seen several lines and no one knew where to order. Finally a female bartender approached to tell me to go to beginning of the line...to which was unclear since 3 lines were in front of bar. I did see a lady cleaning tables off but did not ask for any drinks. 4. 6th floor in front of elevator and front hallway has several ripples and could be a safety hazard. We stayed one Saturday night at the Silver Reef and bought their package deal that included a bit of gaming and food. The smell of cigarettes was everywhere. They do have a "separate" smoking area for gaming but from the moment we pulled up to the resort doors until we left the next day, the smell was strong inside the lobby, in the gaming area, in the elevators, outside too but not thankfully in our room. I played some blackjack and was concerned that the dealer held two decks of cards in her hand the whole time (they do not use a shoe like in Vegas) and out of the 10 hands I played, I was dealt the worst possible cards you can think of, 6/6, Q/4, 10/5 etc. while the dealer got perfect cards. She was quick to warn me not to use two hands to hold my cards though. The slots were a bust too and their player card doesn't work well so that you have to keep inserting it after the error message (as told by staff) on each machine. I didn't see anyone in the casino win anything. Everyone seemed desperate and unhappy. If you go, make sure you leave your bankcard or visa card at home and bring only what you will enjoy losing. We did have a wonderful waitperson at the restaurant and coffee bistro staff were cheerful. Our room was clean and quiet, bed was comfortable. read more

Called last night,the blue cheese burger was no longer available so we had a bacon cheeseburger instead. Mediocre. Would recommend Red Robin or Bobs Burgers instead. Giving 2 stars because the Steakhouse experience was delightful and staff in both the dining and Casino are lovely. The hotel facility is very nice overall, but for the overall experience we were pretty aghast and at dismissive customer service from hotel side. Mostly, we were disappointed that - given the opportunity to address our concern - we we're essentially made to feel that WE were the source of issue and trying to "hustle the system" which is insulting nonetheless embarrassing. So here I am, posting a photo and a review of pubic hairs ... rather than leaving feeling our patronage was valued whatsoever here. We checked in after 5pm and had dinner reservation at 6pm, so promptly unloaded our stuff, hung our things in the closet and started getting ready. I jumped into the shower and couldn't help but notice the shower wall and tub floor had pubic hair stuck to it (as if someone had shaved in there) and it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned. I got out, told my boyfriend and [literally 35 min after checking in] he went down to inform the front desk and to ask for our bathroom to be better cleaned. They offered for us to change rooms but, since we had to get to dinner shortly and we're only staying one night, he said that wasn't necessary and we would be fine with shower just being cleaned. As I was leaving room, a girl nice girl was arriving and said she was coming to clean the room ... except she had no cleaning supplies with her. Apparently, that person reported back that shower had already been used - which is true, because I only saw the hairs after getting in, but the hairs on the shower wall were still there, were still there when we returned to room 3hrs later ... and are still there now (after check out). So obviously it never got cleaned at all. Okay, it's a minor thing in the grand scheme of things and we were honestly not trying to make a big deal of it, but when we brought it up again at checkout this morning, the manager said they had offered to move us and they didn't know if it was our own hairs and they have to deal with people trying to hustle the system and just get things for free. What?! First of all, we were trying to spare them trouble and cost of turning over another room. Secondly, we never asked for anything free. Thirdly, this lack of care from hotel is already ready a turn off ... but to turn it around and imply that we were setting them up is outright offensive. You would just think in todays times cleanliness would be of top priority and if nothing else any establishment would be concerned with the impression this would leave on their reputation. We came for a special occasion to celebrate our anniversary and are repeat customers so it's a shame to leave on this note. read more

Well this hotel and casino is A-1 for the most part. Hotel is classy and clean. well lite hallways and entrance, awesome food. But Covid continues to take a toll on staff who are at times short, curt and at other times, condescending to guests. Gone is the cheery special greetings one might have received in years gone by as guests are processed systemically through a roped off line that is long and silent with little conversation. I wished silently to remind the staff that they work for people who would not favour their attitude especially towards fellow ethnicities to the north. I will come again one more time to see if anything has changed but this is time # number 2 so I am not hopeful. Please give staff more support so they can enjoy their jobs more. read more

Would give this place a 2.5 star review. I have never given a bad review before but we did not have a great experience here. I had booked a weekend trip to explore Bellingham with my husband for our baby moon. This one of the last accommodations for what we were looking for. We wanted to book a nice relaxing spa weekend and this was the only place in the area with hotel and spa open for booking. We ended up being terribly disappointed. They let another couple take our reservation for spa appointment which was a big reason we booked the hotel in the first place. The rooms were clean and bed and bedding were nice. Downside was the walls are paper thin and you can hear conversations in the hall and next door. Food was ok and a bonus was they had a food option open 24/7. Getting to the hotel and checking in was a hassle as you have to walk all the way to the casino entrance then through the casino to the hotel entrance and have to have all patrons register before being able to get to the room. Even after registering they make you check in at the desk every time after you have a room card which was a bit weird. They boast non-smoking yet people are near each entry smoking which vents throughout the area. We waited in line quite sometime in smoke while they checked in only a couple of people. Overall ok place to stay overnight out of necessity or staying only for the casino but not a good hotel for the experience at all. Your better off booking somewhere else if you can and will probably end up saving much more for the quality of service you would get. Looking back now I regret not cancelling and just booking with a Holiday Inn. read more

We were out @ Portage Bay for our band the Replayzmentz. LUV that they removed the "wall" BUT more "seating" is still necessary. It's a good dance floor and needs more tables to accommodate the guests. As far as the bar is concerned, it's ok... the table service is good. read more

Had a fantastic time at the Silver Reef!! Like most tribal casinos nowadays, the biggest thing is slots, but there are table games, too. They have a couple of good restaurants and the pizzeria was awesome!! At the cafe when we had breakfast, our server, Toby, was the best! The rooms were immaculate, the pillows were a dream and the entire staff was following all the covid protocols. I highly recommend that everyone spend a day or two there, even if it's just to get away from home for a bit. read more

Been going to this casino since 2006, mainly for the food. It's nice to have a variety of restaurants to choose from and those Tuesday buffet deals are an amazing value. The Cantina Mexican restaurant was my favorite until they closed a few years ago. Restaurants here tend to come and go except for Pan Asia and Steakhouse have been there since the beginning. Being that I don't care much for gambling or the smoke-filled areas mainly I just enjoy the food here occasionally and the spa is pretty nice too but kind of on the pricey side. We got a play and stay package is not bad you get credit for free play and for food. So we kinda walk around just to see firts place is not big as we expected. So we decided to eat in the restaurant Red River Cafe. They did not have much of Selektion rather tell us where is it.By the way this is our first time here no clue about this place. As we sat down to the restaurant no one there but us another dinner who is already eating. It felt so uncomfortable to be there the other dinner kept looking at me ir (by the way we are asian).I don't really know what is the Deal but I let it go. 5 mins later no Server I look around and I said no one there but us and another dinner (is a couple creeper looking at us). We waited did even offer us drink as we sat down. So 5 min later Server came finally took our order we just order everything before we had to wait for awhile again. One Minute later another dinner came guess what they got ask do you want to have some drinks second later here comes there drink. And ask what order they want. One Minuten later here comes the next dinner ask if they want to drink here comes there drinks and order been ask right away. So by now you get what I am getting Same thing happened to the 3rd 4th dinner they did not have to wait for awhile.
