My Mom and I visited Northwood casino tonite. As usual, the staff were courteous, friendly and competent. We ate the International buffet, where we found the only negative thing to say about our experience. First of all, where was Italian and Mexican food? The only thing we saw was Chinese, and American. The other critique is that the food seemed good, but due to that fact that it was cold, we'll never know. The deserts were excellent. The salad was wonderful..... Anywho, that's my Yelp. We went with two other couples Saturday night for their advertised (on both the website and their illuminated sign as you enter the parking lot) $24.95 shrimp fest - Saturdays in July. When we got to our table we went to check out the buffet - only shrimp dish was a crusted fried shrimp, not the multiple options listed. Then we checked our receipt and saw all six of us were charged $37.95! We hadn't paid attention at the time - one guy paid for his and his 3 guests and he assumed it covered all six of us, but then my husband showed him our receipt - $37.95 each. We asked for the Prime Buffet manager and some woman came over and said they didn't know where the manager was but they couldn't issue a refund, that there was some kind of 'internal marketing issue.' We insisted on speaking to her supervisor, and she sent over the casino shift manager, who also said he didn't know where the manager was. Told us we should have said something when we paid and that since we had already eaten some CRAB (2 out of the six of us) there was nothing he could do. Of course, showing him the website photo and a picture of the sign outside did nothing. He was incredibly rude, told us we should just stop eating and leave and he would issue a $35 credit on one person's club card, nobody else's. Of course, we had come in just for the shrimp special, had driven all that way and were not about to leave without eating, especially since it wasn't even a full refund of the $13.00 price difference. And the worst part? The card holder went to cash out when we left, and she was told there was ZERO on her card - so he lied to us. I sent an email to the Casino via their website on the following Monday morning, and here it is two days later and they haven't even bothered to reply. The casino was dark and Smokey. Our original intention was to game for awhile and check out the bogo hamburger but they didn't start that until 3 in the afternoon. We were disappointed, but as we were there at lunch time, we decided to eat anyway. The cafe only had 4 customers but we sat ourselves and waited for at least 8-10 minutes with no server in sight. They recently changed the buffet to two options. Both terrible options. One is an extremely dry flavorless salmon the other is prime rib so undercooked and bleeding it should not be consumed. Not to mention the food was cold and obviously reheated for us in a microwave. They only have two "buffet bar" options. A dessert and salad bar both underwhelming with limited choices. We won't be coming back. We were the only people in the restaurant and I can tell why. :( read more

We have guests staying with us in Birch Bay who wanted to check out the casino and have the 2 for one hamburger lunch on Wednesday. We get there before noon but we're told the burger meal starts at 3. So we played the machines for a couple hours- really really tight. Not even fun. It is dark in there and smells of cigarette smoke. 2 of us were hungry so went to the cafe and sat down but nobody came to take our order. None of us will ever go back. read more

Ok so it's a medium sized casino a stones throw from Canada. We stay in our RV and they have great prices on RV spots. It's 7.00 a night and pay for 3 nights get 1 night free. RV spots come with electricity (30amp) and free WiFi for streaming. Food from Chefs is surprisingly good had a great clubhouse Sammy. They also have a wood fired pizza oven and make great pizza for 10 bucks. Slots seem a little tight but that might just be my luck. read more

I woild give this a 1 star for ambience. School caffeteria tables and smokey atmosphere. The 80's music was good. Crab and prime rib were terrific! Oyster and calamari were great! Two Part Review: SLOTS - (at this time there are no table games) I thought a small casino might have older slots but there weren't any. Each machine has a Bingo "Card" on the screen somewhere. You touch it before you play each time. If you get a "Bingo" it pays for that. There were a few slots I hadn't played before so I was happy to try them. Had I not lost a $100 bill, I would have won. As it was I just recovered the missing money. Grrr! PRIME RIB/SEFOOD BUFFET - The crab was fabulous! Sweet and fresh. The prime rib was great, medium rare and not fatty. A little light on the side dishes but still a good selection. I think there were warm King crab legs, too but we didn't try any. The clam chowder smelled good but hadn't been thickened properly. Fresh oysters on the half shell and a bay shrimp cocktail salad. There was a good selection of desserts, apple pie, berry crisp, pecan pie, ice cream, etc. THE SERVICE? Well, the cashier appeared to be the supervisor and she couldn't get the ponytail gal to get the tables cleared and reset. We watched the ponytail pick one plate up and take it somewhere and then come back and pick another up. They probably should have a busser or two but still, ponytail had no sense of urgency to get people seated. We were a group of 5 and waited over 20 minutes watching her shuffle around. This is a small casino but the staff is the best I have encountered and I have been to many casinos in Washington they have campsites for trailers with electrical hook up water access for $7 a night after 3 nights 4th is free they have plenty of parking they offer free mocha I per customer they have a very good restaurant I recommend you give them a shot ...I love Northwoods casino read more

I used to love going her but, in the last 2 years- I have been ripped off twice myself .first time was at their ATM. I tried getting 200$ out of a government visa ans ATM crashed....said it paid me out but, security looked it up on camera and said no it did not give me any cash. And they would not make it right. The card was in my son's name and that is how he paid me money he owed me. And he even called casino to tell them I had authorization. Then a week ago Sunday. I was there with a friend and played a rubber ducky game that was min bet of 50 on a penny machine and I was pushing the 50 and did not notice it was charging me 500.....so needless to say 50$ gone before I noticed. I told the floor workers and security and they did nothing yet again....they looked at machine and that was it. Did not put out of order sign on it or return any money's to me. Very disappointed in the treatment I received and may never return. read more

3.5 Stars Lots of free parking in the parking lot. First impressions, as soon as you walk into the casino, you are punched in the face with second hand smoke. The buffet is located on the right side when you enter the front entrance. We walked in around 5:30pm for dinner on Saturday. It wasn't very busy, lots of seating and room. There were 4 of us and the server suggested that we join 2 tables together to have more room. Great idea! We came here strictly for the dungeonous crab they offer in the buffet. If you love dungeonous crab, this is the place to go! They also had a roasted ny strip loin at the carving station and bbq ribs which were very tender. There's also a salad bar and dessert bar. The selection of hot food isn't the greatest, but for $19.95USD, it's worth it even if you just eat crab. Service was really good. Got us drinks right away, always checked on us. Ick. Smoke everywhere, over half the people I saw were not wearing masks despite the mandate. Staff mostly seemed to be masked, good for them, but we're certainly not enforcing it for guests. We came for the 27.95 prime rib and seafood buffet. Had a plate full of food, (prime rib, shrimp, pork chop, veggies) but nothing was seasoned, except the pork chop that was swimming in bbq sauce. I'm cracking up while writing this, it was so bad it was hilarious! We met friends here for their awesome chicken wings...and their chicken wings ARE awesome!! But oh my getting them is the biggest train wreck experience ever! It took 30 minutes to get our drinks, 45 to get wings....and we were the only table!!! We found out our server just broke up over her partners cheating, the pos system was trashed, the four managers like to hide away from the restaurant, and if you ask for wet wipes you get 45 packages for 5 people! I can't even be mad because it was so bad it was funny!!! a friend and I went there for dinner on Jan 1 around 6.30 pm went to the buffet food looked like it was sitting there quite awhile so we went to the bar to have a fresh cooked meal. Walked in the bar the bartender was just talking to a few people she saw us walk in we sat down the server just walked past us like we were not there we sat for 10 minutes and no one came to see if we wanted anything the whole time the bar tender was just talking to some people away from the bar. with out any one asking to see if we wanted anything after 15 minutes we walked out and ate some where else. Come on we had money to spend and no one to spend it with. how in the world can you walk into a bar and sit and no one comes and asks if they can serve you anything. pretty sad service well lack of service read more

My husband and I drove from Everett, WA to go eat here as people raved about the food. It was a couple hour drive. We were completely unwelcomed by the staff. We were approached by Security after I used the restroom as I was waiting for my husband to leave the bathroom. The lady walks up to us and asks me what I'm doing and why am I there. "Uh waiting for my husband to get out of the bathroom." She replies "There is no loitering in the walk ways." We had our 2 year old daughter with us which she almost snarled at and told us to go wait in the hallway until we could be seated at the "buffet area". I have no idea how to react to this, so we just simply left with out eating or doing anything. The locals that were there didn't seem very friendly either. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone. It's not friendly to families or people in general. It's for locals only and they made that painfully clear. read more

What a wonderful Christmas dinner for us this year of challenge, 2020! I had the most delicious meal of Prime rib. The waitress forgot the steak knife so I tried cutting the meat with the serrated butter knife. Amazingly, the meat was so tender and juicy I had successful results! The waitress quickly took care of the issue and apologized. The rest of the meal was superb as well. The mashed potatoes were whipped so nicely and were yummy! The veggies were steamed correctly and tasted delightful. The proportions were very generous and I left with enough food for a few more meals!! read more

While this is a relatively small Casino I find their Rewards just super. I like that they give you the choice of either receiving actual cash or a slot ticket ... !! Really enjoyed my recent visit here. I was with my boyfriend and we were sat quickly and got our drinks right away. Service was attentive as we had multiple people check on us including servers and managers. The manager who checked on us was named Melissa and she was very sweet to ensure we were doing okay. The only complaint was that the food took a little long but it tasted amazing so it didn't bother us to wait. Overall it was an amazing experience. I love the buffets at Northwood Casino. They have a rotating seasonal buffet on Saturdays. The last one was Holiday themed and the one before that was Oktoberfest. Both were on point. I also love the extensive menu in their restaurant, Chefs. The Club Sandwich is probably one of the best I have ever had. Great drinks and reasonably priced. The casino is a lot of fun, too. I am not a big gambler, but had a great time playing slots. My $20 got me more than a half an hour of play. The staff was really friendly and helpful, too. I was so pleased with our visit last night, my best friend and boyfriend cme to eat dinner. We came for the buffet but the wait was to long so we went to the other restaurant . We had excellent service. Our servers werent wearing purple like the others so I assumed they were managers. Everyone was so nice. We had drinks refilled before empty, food csme out fast and was so good we took the rest home. The price was very affordable. Well be coming back for sure. This was the worst buffet that I have ever been to. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. The selection at the salad bar had lettuce (empty), 5 nasty looking vegetable selections and 2 salad dressings. This should have been a sign of things to come. Even though it was 1-1/2 hours before closing, the food trays were almost empty and un-appetizing. The "brisket" was so dry it was flaky and what was called Macaroni and Cheese was Yellow Sauce with noodles in it. Hey, at least the soda was good.
