After some convincing they begrudgingly agreed. They did my two kids, but when they got to me, I noticed they held the PD machine at a strange angle and the measurement came back much different than my previous PD. I asked if they were sure they did it right and they responded with a very curt 'I know how to do my job' I got a more recent eye exam at a different place and they confirmed my PD measurement never changed and that the people at Casco Bay had botched the measurement purposely because I wasn't buying their glasses.

My great experience started with an enthusiastic greeting by Debbie as soon as I walked in the door. Courtney & Dr. Amy Cyr gave me a super thorough eye exam. Then, Gina Namin pleasantly & patiently dealt with me while I tried on 25 different pairs for frames. She made sure they were just the right one & fit perfectly. Fast forward 6 months and I went back for a pair of prescription sunglasses. I needed a new style. Nick Howe was a huge help and pickled out a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses I would have never tried on myself. He was so good - my wife even loved the ones he picked out!. I just picked them up and Gina again made sure they fit perfectly. The best customer service I've received in a very long time.

Then Dr meeting ----holding comment and another basic test repeat i had passed ....? Not the one that failed. I also didn't get out for a what could be an hour + half app tops til about noon. The one doctor I had been referred to, as great had just retired. But I figured with long months to wait I see whomever same clinic. I do have a life !! I did make surgery app but the day had been so chaotic reviewing the experience there.... I called cancelled. Add a great coordinating person at the end was kind. She listened to the 'entire' story and understood. (Similar story on here, so don't judge that person ). I asked to be referred elsewhere. Random gripe: What should be required as people calling you have a medical or business number so you know who is calling. I don't answer numbers I don't know as so many political / charity solicitors. And I keep a photographic and detailed call list.

But when I called right away to reschedule, I was told the earliest available appointment was approximately eight months later, and told it in no uncertain terms. Apparently, patients whose appointments are canceled by the practice are just returned to the back of the line. I really needed this appointment, so they really did me dirty.

It wasn't until I tried another eye care center an entire year later that my new doctor informed me my contacts were sized too small and were constricting my eyes, and that the prescription was too strong and making my eyes work too hard. NOT happy wearing detrimental contacts for a year, especially after pointing it out to Dr. Giles. Thumbs down, harumph.
