Casella has always been a great option for me. Though I haven't always been happy about the one bag limit, it's something I can easily live with. What I can't live with is they recently hiked my bill to $60 a month for getting trash bi weekly. I can understand a convenience fee, but that seems ridiculous to me. I'm sad to say, I'll be looking into other methods of getting rid of my trash, ones that are more affordable. A truck carelessly drove over my lawn. I called Casella (main number). No one answered........ Wanted to discuss with the person who deals with accidents and safety issues, but after several attempts to connect with someone they finally answered, and I was told that the person responsible for dealing with safety issues and accidents such as this one was away, didn't know when they would be back, MIA, and nowhere to be found. Not at the offices. With such a lack of professionalism in dealing with this major accident on my lawn I am done with Casella! Would never recommend this company for waste removal! We cancelled service in November and made our last payment. We were billed for service in January and I spoke with someone and they said they would correct the error. I made sure to stop any future payments just in case. I kept receiving invoices for a past due balance including a returned check fee. I called several times and nobody seemed to know why I was being billed and they would just tell me that they would find out and call me back. No one ever calls back or emails back. They were able to take out the "payment" but even messed that up and took it out twice. I spoke to someone clueless named Tina, who said she was going to ask someone who I'm assuming was supposed to be less clueless, but they said it was bill for service from February. Again, we stopped service in November. I'm pretty sure I will never get my money back because they seem to only employ doofuses. Definitely don't waste your money or energy using Casella. They definitely don't waste their energy on anything. This is the Northeastern PA location, but Casella seems to be an actual "trash" company all around. Customer for over a decade and have to say....BEYOND poor customer service and well into negligent. Called 10 times over a 2 week period to have a can replaced and was given multiple promises to return calls (never happened), excuses (don't care) and eventually blatant lies (wow!) that service would be resolved. The next call was to cancel my service. Casella- our relationship is transactional -one way. I pay you to pick up my garbage/recycling. If you want me to listen to your problems/ excuses, that's a separate transaction for which you will have to pay me. GYST! read more

The worst customer service in the history of customer service. Why can't we give ZERO stars here?? They don't show up for picks ups and then blame you like it's your fault like a bunch of narcissists. Like I schedule the trucks? What is so disgusting about this company is the management. They just don't care and it reflects the rude customer service they have because it comes from the top down. So arrogant!! If you like to be mean and demeaning apply for a job there I am sure they will hire you! They love it! We have a HUGE bear problem in our town which all are conscious of. Most, if not all of us put our trash out the morning of pickup...then they dont show up. Well if you call and inquire you get their lovely customer service representatives that somehow manage to turn it around on you like it is your fault they didn't show up. Again I don't schedule trucks for trash pick up. I have a job, thanks, and it is not in waste management!!! But somehow I am left calling to reschedule my scheduled pick up so it is a full time job. All over their website they claim they are sustainable. How is that??? You contribute to the community bear problem consistently by not showing up!!!! read more

Zero stars! Lots of promises, friendly office staff and zero results. This place is a hot mess. I was a customer of the company they bought out and its been all down hill from there. My rates have more than doubled and they routinely fail to empty my dumpster or fix it when its broken. I get charged all the time even when they don't show up to empty my dumpster and I'm never refunded. I've had to be the one to buy parts and chain on multiple occasions and fix it myself when they failed to fix my broken dumpster. Recently I ordered a bear lid from them. I was told they will make me a new one and I pay $35 a month for 3 years then I own it. A used, homemade, rusty, beat up, bent and broken lid arrived. They even had the nerve to charge me a swap out fee. Not what was described or promised. This was the last straw, I'm actively seeking other options. read more

Casella has earned 0 stars. If Yelp makes me, I will put in 1 star. They have abandoned our trash on a fully paid and never late account, citing multiple weeks of road closures (it was literally 1 day). Waste Management (a competitor and much better company - well all of their competitors are better) picked up our neighbors trash (same day for pick up) and our road was not closed at all besides that one day. You call, and they promise to call back in an hour and never do. They reschedule pick up, and then they don't do it. Heaps of bags overflowing. After calling earlier to confirm today's pick up, they assured it was happening, and then guess what.... the driver took the wrong sheet (no one believes that). They were never going to pick it up. With three weeks of trash in it and nothing in site for pick up, I am calling a junk company to take our trash and Casella's abandoned property (their smelly barrels). read more

Avoid at all costs. Sooooo many excuses about why they didn't pick up my trash. Over and over. And they can't come get it the next day, or in two days. They won't come back until the next weekly pick up. So if you happen to like sitting around up to your butt in trash then you probably don't need a trash service anyway, or you can hire these guys and throw your money away. read more

Whatever you do don't use Casella Waste. If you have extra trash (or even if you don't) they'll let they trash collector --who has a well calibrated eyeball-- estimate the exact cubic feet of "extra" trash that you have. Then they will threaten you with collection until you pay --no proof necessary. Take their word on it! If you put up a fight, they'll arbitrarily drop the bill in half. Half of a made-up number is still too much. I use another company now. They don't charge for recycling. My opinion shop around, and stay away from Casella Waste. read more

Beware! This company will leave trash behind in your bin and not come back to pick it up until your next scheduled pickup. If you want your trash to smell horribly and to have bugs/flies swarming the bin then by all means go with this company. Just know what you are signing up for. read more
