I had a pile of debris in my yard that I needed to put into a dumpster. They would not deliver the dumpster to me only for a day or two, it had to be here for five days. So I had them placed a dumpster in my yard, and I had another contractor that I had already scheduled excavate the base for a driveway and work around the dumpster. The contractor knew they were supposed to pick it up on the fifth day, so he left his equipment here so he could pave it with asphalt that day. We are now on the ninth day and the container has still not been picked up. The asphalt contractor had to come pick up all his equipment and bring them to another project and they'll get back to us whenever they get back to us. I will not be using them for rolloff service ever again. I called multiple days in a row, I got assurances, and then they never came and I never got a call back. Communication is terrible, follow-through is terrible, and friendly CSR's do not make up for that. Update. Picked up on the 10th day and the guy left the wood scraps he used under the wheels in my yard instead of throwing them in the container. I don't think this company has standards. read more

Trash was not picked up 3 out of 4 weeks. Twice I saw the trash collector look inside my trash can and then just leave. I called at least 6-8 times and each time they said they would come back. They never did. Now I cancelled service and I have to figure out how to empty their cans so they can take them away. There was nothing wrong with my trash! Casella's Williston VT location has lost their way the last few months and has started missing my residential pick up every week. For the last two months they have been at least one day late, sometimes more. When you call 'customer service' they are never able to resolve the problem. Their poor service is causing considerable hardship to my family as we are trying to clean our our home and move. If we were not moving I would be cancelling and going with their competitor, Myers. FYI we have been customers since 1998 but they have gone down the tubes. Do not choose them for residential service. read more

Casella waste is horrable, we have been calling them for several days now trying to get them to empty our overflowing small dumpster. After calling them several times they finally got back to us only to say the town of Loudon has spring weight limits on our road and they will not empty our dumpster. Even though last year at this time when similar restrictions were posted for our road they came with a smaller truck that meet the towns weight requirements. this year they are refusing to come. If anyone is looking for a dumpster I do not recommend contacting this company. Thier customer service is horrendous, they will take your $$ every month but may not provide the service. We got an oil delivery as well as a propane delivery just today. you can't tell me they do not have the means to send a small truck that meets the new posted weight requirements, like they did last year and swap out this 4 yard container. Don't empty the dumpster when they were suppose to, on numerous occasions, and the prices are very high and kept going up since they brought out Pinard. Casella Waste Management is the worst company in the world. They overcharge and will never rectify any issues you may have with them. And you will have problems with them. You will never be able to call them and get a real person. They have a terrible phone system that automatically puts you on hold forever. I canceled my service with them in writing several times after 6 months because they were significantly overcharging me. It was a horrible experience trying to cancel service with them. I am not going to recommend this company for use. We paid $859.56 to rent a dumpster for 7 days they were supposed to deliver it on a Friday did not do so. We called them the following Monday regarding this mess up on their part were told we would have the dumpster till the 19th and instead of honoring their word they picked up the dumpster today 6/16/24. They were informed that their mess up would cause in issue for us being able to get done the work we needed the dumpster for as they did not deliver it on Friday like we requested One because I informed them that I am pregnant and 2 because my fiancé works during the week and is a truck driver so his hours very from day to day. Every week, they leave garbage all throughout the neighborhoods where I walk. Cans are often on the ground in the road, on the ground in the yard and today, half leaning on someone's mailbox enough so that it opened up their box. They have traveled past me walking over the winter, didn't slow down and the truck sprayed slush on me and the dog that I was walking. Today though, was the worst I've seen. I was walking the neighborhood and witnessed this entire tantrum. They left a trail of garbage and overturned cans throughout the neighborhood. It's like Hansel and Grettel with a garbage trail. I always have to fight them when they don't pick up my garbage when scheduled and they always always have to place the blame. I've also caught them in lies when they say the have a picture of my garbage not being out but when I ask to see the picture they don't actually have one. we currently have a bear who gets into both our trash and recycling so putting out overnight is not an option which I called to advise the I'm putting it out around and they gave me a bunch of shit instead of helping a resolution. Fast forward to the 4th of July holiday. Had my toters out on my schedule day 7/3, no one them up. Casella advised they decided to pick up on 7/2 but no calls out to me to advise and they couldn't pick up until my next fill which the week before they neglected to pick up my recycling. I had enough and cancelled And found that there was other companies that charge $20 less with the same recycling and were willing to help me figure out the bear situation. When I call they say, "Let me check with dispatch", and then tell me it will be picked up that day. Nope! Casella is flat out horrible. We have been skipped multiple times for garbage pickup and when we call and let them know they simply say "oh well it says your garbage was picked up..." but I am looking at an overflowing garbage can in my driveway. When I ask if they can come pick it up (again, we have been skipped multiple times now) they say the same thing "earliest we can come is next pickup" lol. The way I see it, we had a contract for them to pickup my garbage every Friday (recycle every other Friday) and they do not honor that contract at all. We have never missed a payment, we always have the garbage out on time (even when the wind is blowing 40+mph and I am out picking up recycles and garbage all day long for them to never show up...). When they mess up, they make no effort at all. Best part, they just increased their price haha...they are now more expensive compared to every other garbage service in our area (WM, Finger Lakes, etc). We have been skipped a total of 3 times for garbage and 2 times for recycle. DO NOT USE CASELLA! They offer horrible service, make no effort to fix problems they cause, and in response they just increase the price. I honestly have no idea how they are still in business in my area (Victor, NY). AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Truly the worst experience I have ever had with a company in my entire life. I never take the time to write reviews, but this place was so horrible to deal with I feel compelled to warn people. My contract with waste management (wm) got bought out by Casella so my trash pick up was transferred to them. Once they took over the route my trash cans went ignored for weeks in a row. I watched their driver pick up the neighbors cans then just drive away, ignoring mine (which were sitting about 6 feet away). Yet I kept paying in the hopes it was some sort of misunderstanding. A dozen calls and emails between me and their customer service department changed nothing. They assured me that the dispatcher is being contacted, that the driver has been notified, that the issue has been marked high priority, etc., but nothing changed. They will simply take your money without providing any sort of service and give you the run around when you try to fix it. If you're in the NEPA region check out Eastern Waste & Recycling instead. I recently switched and it's been a huge relief. It costs the same but includes recycling and you can actually keep in touch with a competent customer service rep if you need to. read more

I have had Casella forget my garbage 6 out of the last 9 weeks!! They have to be called every week to send out the next day or in todays case they didn't come at all. I put my garbage out Wednesday nights for Thursday pick up. I called yesterday afternoon which was Thursday and they didn't even come today on Friday. Now I have garbage sitting around my house all weekend because they decided not to do the one job I pay them to do. My recycling has been out there since last week and it's still there. Furious! I believe Deceptive and Fraudulent Business Practices have been perpetrated against my company by Casella Waste. I have been a Casella customer for many years with my account setup on auto pay for a trash pickup every two weeks. I have never missed a payment and have been charged for an every two week pickup by your company for years. Unfortunately, it appears that the company has been billing for services that have not been provided. I have had numerous issues with overflowing dumpster because pickups were not made. I've made numerous phone calls requesting the driver's logs so we could compare the logs to the video footage and it has never been supplied. Most recently numerous pickups were missed and I spoke with Mary Faenza and was told she couldn't provide the logs earlier that June of 2023, but since then GPS tracking was installed in the trucks and logs could be provided. I requested those logs, was promised I would receive them, they never arrived and her promises that management would contact me never happened. She stated it was a very busy time for Casella and my concerns would have to wait. I just spoke with Allison Shull again from the Auburn MA Office, because our dumpster has been over flowing for weeks. Her response was, "Why Didn't I Call Earlier"! I responded that I don't have the time to baby-sit a Vendor I'm auto paying for services that they are failing to provide. Again, the third time, I have requested the drivers logs from her which have never been provided. She then insisted in terminating the our phone call because I was requesting the logs, explaining my concerns that I've been paying for services that have not been provided and I wanted proof for the pickups I've been charged for and have paid. Stating I was being inappropriate...??? I just called the customer care call center, speaking to a very charming young lady who apologized for the poor and unreliable service. She explained that the notes to my account showed numerous calls that I've made, without responses. She promised a return phone call for someone, but she couldn't provide names, titles or phone numbers of who I would be contacted by. I am requesting all drivers logs for all my trash pickups I've been charged for from 2020 to March 26, 2024. I am prepared to file legal action for all the damages endured for what I believe to be Deceptive and Fraudulent Business Practices experiences with Casella Waste. Will that be necessary? read more

Terrible service. They took over as my trash provider once Lilac left the area, and it was downhill from the start. Firstly my bill went up, but my service decreased- I would no longer have a weekly recycling pickup and when I inquired about this I was told I would be given a larger receptacle to make up for it (over a year went by and I was never given a new/larger recycling tote). Then come the safety issues, I live on a very busy road with cars driving 50+ MPH. On multiple occasions, I would find my trash and recycling totes in the dead middle of my driveway, preventing me from being able to pull in when I got home from work. My choices were to stop my car in the middle of the road while cars are going 50+ to get out and move them so I can pull in, or to take my nice car and plow thru the cans to push them out of the way so I could get in the driveway. This happened about a dozen times before I finally complained. Immediately upon calling to complain, the next trash pick up day there was a note on my trash can saying it needed to be closer to the curb in order for them to pick up my trash otherwise they would just skip my house all together. Mind you, my trash bins were put in the exact same spot for years, but the second I call and complain, they all of a sudden don't like where they are and threaten to skip my house? The retaliation is unreal. I immediately called and decided to cancel and get a new provider. Upon canceling, I confirmed that I'd like to pay off all balances so I could be completely done with them. The rep said she completely understood why I was canceling and took my payment info, assuring me that covered all balances left. Now, a month later, after canceling, I get another $39 bill in the mail, and they are saying there was still more left for me to pay. All I can say is $39 is cheap to get rid of such an awful business. I would never recommend them to anyone. Now that I've switched, I'm saving about $100 annually and getting weekly recycling pickups again with full sized totes. Thanks for nothing, Casella. read more

My morning started off, not too well after speaking with a previous Casella Waste System representative about my trash service that I was attempting to resolve. I did not get upset. I remain calm. I just let her know that I will call back later after not coming to a resolution after 20 or so minutes on the phone with her. I could say a lot about this conversation we had but I will not at this time. She did not care this previous representative was not so nice ... so sad! I then called back about 45 minutes later and I received another representative Amirah Smothers. I can't begin to tell you how amazingly helpful, caring, empathetic and understanding this lady is!!!!! She helped me to resolve an issue where I was about to cancel my 16 plus years of service (formerly Waste Industries) now Casella Waste System. After providing the most sincere service anyone can receive and resolve my issues. I opted to stay with Casella Waste System a little longer!!! Kudos to Amirah Smothers for EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Businesses need more like her to represent their company, they would definitely keep a lot more AND satisfied customers!!! Thank you The problem, our 42 unit apartment complex dumpster provided by Casella has a very large rust hole along the back wall. It leaks out garbage and Rodents appreciate the easy access! The dumpster needs repair OR a replacement. Casella is charging a fee to have the "rusted out leaky rodent feeder" swapped out. Very sad and a poor service model! SAVE EVERYTHING. Anything you've signed, any bill you have paid...EVERYTHING!! In 14 months, I've been skipped 4x on recycling (they come every othe rweek so 8 weeks I was skipped). When I called to ask why, they told me I had a past due bill. So I log in to go make the payment, but it said my bill wasn't due till the end of October, I was being skipped well before Oct 31. Ive had recyling scattered in my yard, been told they would pick up a couch (that I called ahead on) and it took them 2 visits after I made the call (2 weeks) and days before my scheduled pick up. What gets me the most is, they talk about "oh our cost is increasing cuz of this and that"...ok, fine...so should I start to tally every time I DONT put my trash out? I mean, if they are going to be finicky on "oh you have a past due bill" (Again that isn't past due) to be skipped for over 2 months, even when i made the payment immediately once they told me that. Long story short, don't just pick up who the resident before you used when it comes to trash, investigate and maybe there is a big reason why your neighbors all use a different service. We just moved to Ossipee from MA. We were told that we would have to go to the transfer station every week, but that is really not optimal. We looked online, blind, and called Casella. Rates are comparable to what we paid in MA and the same pickup schedule....trash weekly, recycling every other week. So far, so good. Reps were very courteous and followed-up on communication.
