Desmond and Tyler arrived early for our appointed time as we did as well. They had all the tools and equipment to remove and load the self-storage unit contents. Both were pleasant and helpful when we wanted to keep reusable several items. Their quote included loading everything, transporting the entire contents to the landfill and the weighting fee. Before leaving, Desmond and Tyler swept the unit floor and removed the debris. They were focused and were in and out in a hour. Before leaving they asked if we needed them to do anything further. My tinkering skills in the mechanical motorized parts department is next to none, so after some half-hearted troubleshooting, I decided it was time to retire the old fellas and give in to this electric trend. We needed a big, broken couch removed from our tiny, weirdly shaped apartment located in one of Portland's pocket neighborhoods (meaning the street is barely wide enough for one car to drive down). This was not a job for us, so I reached out to The Dump Guys (and Girls) for pricing. Our email exchange over the course of a few days was friendly; they gave me a quote based on how big it was/whether it included a pull out bed/what floor we were located on, etc. And then I ghosted them. A couple weeks later they reached back out to see if I still needed their help. ... another couple of weeks after that, I (finally) responded and we set something up. They called me on the day of the pick-up to let me know they were running a half hour EARLY (when does that ever happen?!). My partner and I had moved the couch to the front door to make it easier for them, so when the Dump Guy and Dump Girl showed up it took maybe ten minutes total for them to park their truck and trailer, remove the couch, run my card at the quoted price (which they verified via the email exchange), visit my pet bunny (he's distractingly adorable), and then move on to their next project. They were very friendly and efficient! The cost was great! And overall - minus my inability to respond to emails in a timely manner - it was a seamless transaction! When we bought a property for my mother in law and the previous owner was supposed to clean their things out, then surprisingly didn't, our realtor said he would pay for the dump guy. I've never used a service like this before and I have to say I was more than impressed! The two "guys" were friendly, fast, and reasonably priced for moving a broken stove, a broken car fender, broken A/C, a few old propane grills and other various junk left behind for us to deal with. In just under 45 mins they hauled about a truck and half load out and took it away for $250. As a time saver (anyone who's been to the dump knows how long that can take, not to mention the loading of a trailer) this was the way to go! Additionally I received a follow up call today checking on their service and making sure we were satisfied. In this day and age that's a real shocking surprise! I would recommend them to anyone trying to clean out a bunch of stuff and not having either the man power or time to do so! read more
