After my flavorful Italian Sausage and Jalapeños pizza today, I will call Joe before a national chain. It was National Mom and Pop Business Day and my local Joe's posted a picture of their owners on Facebook and it prompted me to order. So I got on their website and ordered my favorite, Sausage & Jalapeño Small Thin Crust Pizza. When I order pizza from any pizza joint, I always add special instructions. I am not a fan of "square" cut and request mine to be cut "pie", the traditional way to serve pizza. My Italian Sausage was spicy, the sauce had zing to it and there was plenty of jalapeños. The jalapeños even had some crunch to them, which tells me, they were fresh. Then of course, the mozzarella cheese was plentiful on top of everything. The website was user friendly and when I arrived, the young ladies working the front counter were friendly and polite. Good pizza and friendly service will have me ordering pick-up again. Sure I can have them deliver, but I don't mind the short drive to pick it up myself. Support your local mom and pop businesses.

I wanted a new experience for lunch, so I ventured out to Bunker Hill to see what I could find. I remembered Sage House from when I ate at a restaurant across the street, so I went to see what they had to offer. It was your typical bar/diner grub and a good selection of pizzas. Being a fan of chicken wings, I ordered 6 pieces with a side of tater tots. I liked that they offered both breaded and naked wings. I choose naked and bourbon as my sauce. I'm a stickler for my drums and flats being the same number and SH made me happy. The wings were meaty and juicy and the sauce was sweet and flavorful. There was a lot of sauce, so I am glad the waitress placed a full container of napkins next to me. The tater tots were good and crispy. No need for ketchup, I rolled mine around in the bourbon sauce under my wings. The service was hospitable. My server and another employee checked with me frequently as I enjoyed my wings, tots and draft beer. They had a full bar, but I went with one of the beer offerings. If you ordered a mixed cocktail, I'd make it a simple one. I didn't get the feeling they specialized in classic or fancy cocktails. I ended up chatting with the other customer while he waited for his carry-out. I guess his earlier statement/question, was his ice breaker. I now know more about him, than I really need to know.

We asked if they could handle our size of party before coming in and they said yes. We waited 20 minutes before a waitress came to our table and we waited over an hour and a half before we even got our food. We understand there was a party next door but we were completely forgot about multiple times during our visit. First time coming and last time coming.

We had no expectations but we were hungry. What a wonderful Plan B this turned out to be. It was mid-afternoon so the place was relatively quiet, in a pleasant way.Everything was clean and the dining room looked inviting. We seated ourselves and the waitress quickly came to take our order for drinks and food. She suggested the day's special, a personal pizza with two toppings, side salad, and a drink. It sounded great was was a real bargain so we both went with it. The wife ordered a simple cheese pizza and I ordered mine with sausage and mushrooms. In very short order, our salads were presented and they were delicious. The lettuce and vegetables were all very fresh, not the sad looking stuff you frequently see at other restaurants mid winter. Even the croutons were delicious, light and with just the right amount of crispness. Next came our pizzas piping hot. We both loved them .They came on a thin cracker type crust, my favorite, sauce was sparingly applied but tasty, and the Italian sausage on my pizza had wonderful flavor with just a light kick to it. My wife truly enjoyed her cheese pizza as well. We'll definitely be coming back. I'm tempted to try their Italian beef sandwich next time. It was highly recommended by the staff.

I had been a few times in the past but it was my family's first time. I don't drink alcohol and they have a great mocktail section! I got the NOPE-rol Spritz, it was delicious! My family and I split the white truffle fries and ciabatta as appetizers and they all got pasta dishes that they loved. I got a pizza (the Arugula) and unfortunately I feel as though I ordered wrong (which was my own fault), I didn't really care for it. When you took a bite it was like all the toppings fell off on the first bite. I think they cut the pizza before putting the toppings on which just made it harder to eat. I think the best part of the night was the service. We had Grace as our waitress (she was training another girl, but unfortunately I don't remember her name). They did a fabulous job - Grace did a wonderful job training her! It felt like we were at one of the more elevated Napoli's like Napoli III. They were so attentive and gave us great suggestions. Get that woman a raise! Well done, ladies!

The food will be very familiar from the perspective that everything we had was excellent. We started with calamari, and to our surprise there were also a small group of onion straws on the plate. It was served with 2 sauces (one marinara and one aioli - both were excellent). Don't skip the fried lemons, they are an added treat. We then moved on to the Napoli salad, it is as described on the menu...crisp, and appropriately dressed. Then we had the special pizza of the evening, it was a black garlic base (not strong) with mushrooms and burrata on top - delicious. We also happen to be sitting next to the area with the pizza oven - a must see if you are there. We did sit inside, but outdoor seating was available. What might not be so familiar, but I thought was great, was a more casual atmosphere, and decor, I would classify is as upscale casual. Our server was very pleasant, the only thing that surprised me was the time in between courses seemed a bit longer than expected, but that gave my friends and I a chance to catch up. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and I will be back!!
