I have to update my review based on some recent experiences at Casey's. I've wanted to get into house plants and succulents for a while now, and a friend told me Casey's selection was great and that they had knowledgeable staff. Man, was that ever correct. Dan and Jon are the plant guys, and they both are SO helpful, in different ways. Dan has been there for 40 years and really knows his stuff. Jon is younger and knows all sorts of trendy plant things, he whipped out his phone and showed me some neat examples on Instagram of stuff I could do, and then gave me some realistic care advice. They always have succulents and small plants, but over the winter their house plant selection is more limited as they make room for their amazing Christmas selection. If you want to get into plants, or just buy a couple cute succulents for your apartment, go to Casey's. read more

Casey's definitely has the best selection in town as far as houseplants go. Although, it seems like the people who work inside at the register don't enjoy interacting with the public. I have felt that way on several occasions. A friend of mine messaged me today, asking about whether or not the plant she had bought today was "in season", as the lady ringing her up was muttering under her breath about my friend not picking out season appropriate plants. Mind you, they are for a terrarium to be kept inside. The cashier didn't say anything outright to my friend, and she left kind of confused. I wish that the employees were more welcoming, but I do tend to keep away as to avoid awkwardness. read more

As most one star reviews go I used to really like this place. Today, however, was a terrible experience and after a questionable previous experience I will sadly have to take my business elsewhere. Yes, I know, boo hoo. After walking the store and selecting a few pots I went up to the cash register. No one was around so I waited. And I waited. Only to realize the cashier was the person spraying the pumpkins by the front door. As she was spraying she was having the most inane conversation about stump removal with another person. Once the other customer realized they hadn't paid for something they then came back in, but instead of acknowledging my existence she then proceeded to carry on the inane conversation about somebody removing stumps and started to ring up the other person's item. A friendly "I'll be right with you" would have sufficed, but no, I was left standing there looking foolish. So after deciding my time and money was more valuable to me I just left. To the short lady with glasses I certainly hope you're the owner because if a regular employee treats customers this way you should reevaluate customer handling. Also most of the house plants have thrips. Be warned. read more

Went to Casey's for a Christmas tree this year. Mainly because I bought one so early, this is the only place I saw open, and selling them. First time I went, around noon, there were quite a few other customers there, and no one asked me if I needed help, so I left. I came back a little before 1:00, and was told that the trees haven't been priced yet, and all the guys were out to lunch, and asked if I could come back in about a half hour. (In my head I was thinking, well I already left and came back once) Luckily I had other errands to run so I came back about an hour later, and finally was able to buy my tree. We have ventured over here a few times in the past week or so, as we settle into our new home and have a first real go at our yard in mid-summer. (I.e., we are playing catch-up, big time.) I used this business to send flowers to a new mom at bromenn hospital. Being in Elgin il, I was nervous to make sure she got a specific flower (Lillie's) and of course I wanted the arrangement to be beautiful. (I tend to micromanage these things.) Not only was the staff super friendly and easy to work with, (I spoke with Lori, she is great) but I saw a picture of the flowers and they were perfectly done. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area. I should also mention price wise everything was a breeze. I basically gave them a budget and they put together a bouquet with those parameters. No hidden fees and it eliminated the need for me to pick and choose certain flowers and wind up with a sad looking arrangement. Totally awesome. read more

I've used Casey's floral arrangement delivery service for my BloNo family members for a handful of Mothers Days, birthdays and hospitalizations. My grandmother uses this store for her gardening supplies; to be honest, I always had it confused with the Casey's General Store which led to no end of hilarious misunderstanding. Regardless, I've always felt I get my money's worth from their arrangements, and my grandmother and mother have loved the artistic skill of the arrangements. They always respond cheerfully to my "suggestions" (Mom loves daisies but Grandma calls them weeds, sunflowers are associated with mourning in my family, etc etc etc). I learned from a local (Seattle) florist friend that websites are a scam in regards to floral arrangements. Just call the shop and work with them directly. Cut out the middle man and make grandma happy. read more

They didnt call to say they were behind instead i had to call and ask them to just bring them to my homw since i was no longer at work and they said they would took the address down didnt apologize for not delivering at the correct time.
