Casey's won me over way back when I was in college, before they had a florist/cut flower area. I was a little freshman who didn't know the town at all and wanted to get a red rose for someone. With no wheels I needed to find some place near and they were the first place I happened upon. I asked to buy one rose and they said that they only sold plants. Seeing my disappointment, the lady told me to wait a minute. She went out and cut a beautiful rose from one of their bushes and sold it to me for $1.50. Now that's a fresh rose! While the guy I gave it to didn't deserve it, I have never forgotten their kindness and now get all of my plants, flowers, and fresh bouquets from them. Casey's is my garden shop of choice in BloNo, and not just because it's the closest. Although their prices are a little higher than the big box stores the quality and selection is why I frequent Casey's. They offer everything from water plants to tons of heirloom seeds/plants as well as holiday decor. Their staff is friendly and willing to take the time to help out or answer questions. I enjoy just browsing from time to time as they change their selections with the seasons. read more

I live in Chicago, but my boyfriend is performing at the Illinois Shakespeare Festival in Bloomington this summer. I like to send him flowers whenever he opens a show out of town, and I always try to find someone local to wherever he's performing. I grew up in a small town with a wonderful local florist, so shopping local is something that is near and dear to my heart, and I often find that the quality of the flowers local florists use is much, much higher than that of those online bloom-in-a-box flower services. However, because of my somewhat abnormally strong feelings about this, choosing a florist long distance has always made me a bit nervous, if only for the simple fact that you never really know what you're going to get until it gets there. That said, my honey just got his flowers and I could not be more thrilled across the board. First of all, the bouquet is STUNNING, prettier even than the online image. The flowers are SUPER fresh and vibrant, and some of them are still budding and look like they will bloom within a few days. (I LOVE that!) The arrangement is beautifully composed; it is evident that Casey's does their work with pride and with care. Beyond the flowers themselves, every member of the Casey's staff was extremely helpful throughout my entire ordering process. I had concerns about my delivery time and location and called to check in a couple times today. The staff was incredibly patient and went above and beyond to assist me, even going so far as to call the girl who had dropped off the flowers to confirm who signed for them and that they would make it backstage alright. As a nervous long distance shopper and a new customer, they absolutely went out of their way to ease my concerns and deliver an incredible product. I am so looking forward to purchasing from them again! I was considering Casey's for my wedding flowers. I had a very small, simple wedding, with only about 60 people in attendance. All I wanted was a bouquet, some flowers for the altar, and one rose each for the groomsmen and groom. And the total was going to be something to the tune of $500. I asked what my options for silk flowers were, and the florist told me that it would be "impossible" to find silk flowers for cheaper than her price. I went to a local craft store and found very realistic flowers, and bought everything I needed for under $80. That's less than the bridal bouquet alone at Casey's would have been, and no one could tell they were silk. I understand it's their job to try to sell their product, but I'm mad the sales woman would lie like that. However, their houseplants, planted flowers and vegetables are usually reasonably priced. They have good sales from time to time, including end-of-season deals. Okay for everyday gardening needs, not as great for special occasions. The staff can be really hit-or-miss. Sometimes I'll find someone who really wants to help, who's knowledgeable and friendly, and makes sure my questions are thoroughly answered. Sometimes I'll find all of the employees talking to each other, acting like I'm a nuisance taking away their free time. It's an okay shop, but there are more reliable shops around. read more

I wanted a pretty presentation bouquet for my granddaughter's First Communion..........not too big, but still noteworthy. I stated what I wanted, carnations and baby pink roses, and how I wanted with celephane & large white ribbon around..........and I GOT EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED FOR AND IT WAS PERFECT!! I am out-of-town, so was hesitant to not see ahead of time, but have used Casey's previously, and they were so kind, and efficient, even me ordering just two days before, and very, very reasonable! I WILL CONTINUE TO USE CASEY'S FLORAL FOR OTHER OCCASIONS FOR MY FAMILY IN NORMAL/BLOOMINGTON! I call these folks for all of my flower needs. They did my wedding (and the weddings of all of my family members) which turned out beautifully. I am not the type of person to write a bad review. I understand that things happen that are beyond our control. I reside in Arizona and my mother resides in Bloomington. I used this service for the first time on 10 / 10 / 15 which is my mother's birthday. They were suppose to deliver flowers to her house that morning. I had to call not once but a total of four times that day to check the status of the delivery. I was told they were being delivered or that they would be calling me back. Well, none of those happened that day. The flowers were delivered the day afer ( that is after I called that morning ) and there wasn't anyone in management to speak with me on a Sunday. I was told that " things were a zoo that day " which is fine but let me know so that I can arrange pickup. Then I had a phone call from casey the manager two days later. His staff has better customer service then he does. I did not ask for a refund ($90 I should of), I simply wanted him to know the trouble I had with his company over the weekend. He was rude and unsympathetic. I'm in Healthcare and deal with people and their problems all day. I would never speak so rudely to a customer. He never once apologized for the inconvenience. He even had the audacity to say that since I spoke with a staff member twice that day then I obviously knew they were having delivery issues. Well, on the contrary actually. I was under the impression that I would be notified because that is what I was told by your staff. I always support the local businesses but I cannot support this one. read more

Everything and everyone at Casey's is great EXCEPT for Dan in the bow making room. Go somewhere else for bows unless you want to be spoken to in a sarcastic and condescending manner by Dan. I have heard this before, but just had a first-hand frustrating experience yesterday. Even the other customer in there at the same time raised her eyebrows. What a jerk. read more
