Sadly, we were the only ones in the restaurant -- and it felt like not much has changed since the place opened back in the 50s or 60s. Same booths (I'm pretty sure), and not sure the last time they've been deep cleaned. The bathroom in particular was... rough. There's a really cool old jukebox that adds to the nostalgia -- but unfortunately, it was out of order. Would've been nice to sip on a beer while waiting (the pizza took quite a while), but just a heads-up: they only serve canned pop and bottled water. Now, the good news -- once the pizza finally arrived, it was **fantastic**. Classic brick-oven flavor, perfectly crisp, and loaded with flavor. We ate the whole thing even though we'd planned to save leftovers for my daughter and her roommate! If I lived in Boone, I'd absolutely order from here again -- but next time, it would definitely be takeout.

All the employees are so kind and so helpful. We sat at the bar, so we were able to chat a little bit more with the people working and I am so happy we did. Also, if you add honey you add 70 cals each tablespoon. I know I didn't come to eat healthy but also... Everyone is right, so many toppings and cheese. But again, lacks flavor. The prices... very reasonable. We got two large salads, two beers, an app and a large pizza for $50. Very reasonable. Overall, I won't be back but am glad I at least tried an Ames staple.
