I've been a longtime customer of Cash America. I first visited around the same time that Pawn Stars first began airing probably ten years ago. I just stopped in to see what type and quality of merchandise they were selling, at what price points and the kind of customer service they offer. I was very impressed up my first visit and purchased a Phillips 44 inch tv after doing a careful web search of the exact model, reviews, price range, etc. This tv has worked perfectly with absolutely no issues. Since that time Cash America has become my "Go to" source for nearly everything I buy for the home and my business. Just an example of what I've bought: power tools, lawn mower, 3 laptops, monitors, small appliances, men's watches, two televisions. I'm in the process of "vetting" a 50 inch smart tv and a 15 inch laptop to buy. I've proven to myself that careful shopping is careful shopping - whether online, retail, Facebook Marketplace or at my best kept secret Cash America. Typically a good pawn shop. But i recently pawned a large Smart LED TV for 2 days. When i went to get it back, a new girl went to try and grab it from the back by HERSELF knowing she couldnt carry it and BROKE THE TV. They wont even reimburse me for this TV. This is garbage. I will admit, there have been some times that I'll have something in its original box closed up and they said they can not take it. GameStop is the same way with their games. I have been a customer here for a few years and honestly, there is only one woman I have issues with. She doesn't seem to care for he business but I won't be saying her name because I haven't been up there recently and they seem to leave and bring someone new in all the time. Cory is honestly my favorite though. He's so awesome and always engages in conversation with me and helps me with what I need. I also wanted to address the Oculus thing... They wouldn't take my PSVR either but I also didn't bring in a system with it. For that Oculus rift, I am almost certain the person who brought that in probably brought in a computer as well and they were able to test it out. They typically do not take things that are standalone that need to be hooked up to another device. I do not imagine an Oculus Go allows you to see a game by just plugging it in? My overall experience has been pretty good with this store. I took away a star because of the woman who just ignores your existence unless someone nudges her and the small parking lot. read more

A similar thing that happened to Terry happened to me. Went to sell an Oculus Go headset I'd bought not long ago just because I was bored with it. It was in its box, all cords included, nothing missing, etc. They told me they wouldn't take it because it needed hooked to a computer so they couldn't test it. For those unaware, the Oculus Go is a standalone VR visor. It requires a wireless connection to function, but no computer whatsoever. Despite me explaining this, still wouldn't take it. Then on the way out I saw an Oculus Rift headset. Again, for those unfamiliar, this is a model that DOES require being hooked to a computer to operate. So how did they test THAT if they won't accept things that need connected to a computer?! So even IF my headset needed hooked to a computer (which it didn't), it shouldn't have been an issue if they were selling an Oculus Rift. They just blatantly didn't want to do business. read more

I had a wedding ring stolen. I have called all of the pawn shops near by and each one has asked for a discription of the ring so they can keep an eye out for it and asked for my phone number so they can call me if they come across it. However, this place was totally unwilling to do that. Thieves probablly know this and know it will be easy to pawn shit there and know they won't be caught. What kind of place makes it easy for thieves to get away with stealing and won't work with the victims?????? I guess I know where I won't be shopping!!!! They are gonna get real tired of me calling every single day multiple times a day asking if they seen my ring. If they had been like all the other pawn shops who took a discription and will call me if they come across it, they will not have to deal with me calling multiple times a day every day. The store itself is okay, the employees are another. The one woman, BECKY, is an unfriendly and rude witch who was giving another customer a hard time over something so simple, even getting snotty with me when I came in with my item(s) when I asked for help. She even tried making the store look closed so no one would come in -- an hour before normal closing time, and those who did enter were ignored. The employee I had the (terrible) honor of dealing with, COREY, was trying to swindle me out of money, trying to give me A LOT less for the stuff I was trying to sell. And not in the normal way any other pawn shop would. This guy was trying to give me as little as possible. I will never go back to Cash America Pawn. I suggest you steer away, too. They'll just try to heavily rip you off and treat you like you're stupid at same time, specifically BECKY and COREY. read more
