I was ignorant and it was my first time filing taxes. I never got an issue with IRS but the 2nd time they wanted to charge me $350 to do my taxes with them for just one job W-2 and one home mortgage. They had charged me $140 first time.That was 15 years ago. I never came back. My current CPA charges me $80 in 2024 and it is 5 times more complicated than back then.
