So right off the bat I was irritated. It's a big shop, with lots of ham for sale, but wow, they are super pricey. I know they will say it's because they do all their own smoking, but there's a similar style place in Arizona where I live called The Pork Shop that has way more reasonable prices. Not that I'm suggesting you drive to AZ for a ham. I'm just saying their prices are a bit on the high side. I might stop in here again, but probably not.

I'll be passing through again soon and plan to report back on the savory fair. Let's get to the real reason for my visit: dessert pie! The list boasts traditional and specialty pies. They offer individual 4" or full 9" pies. The small pies can be purchased individually or as a 4-pack. I ordered 3 of the four packs to sample as many flavors as possible. I also ordered a full peach and apple crumb. I recommend for an order this size to call ahead. All the pies I purchased were frozen and had to be baked before serving. The mini pies come in an oven safe cardboard tin. I took these to work and heated them up in the toaster oven. They were big hit!! The consensus was that peach was the hands down favorite closely followed by tart cherry. The full size pies come in a traditional pie tin and bake up nicely in the oven. The only downside is waiting for the pie to cool after it comes out of the oven!! The apple crumb also comes very highly recommended. I would be remiss to not mention the drinks and smoothies. Inside is part museum (the building is from the 1800s), as well as part gift shop and snack shop. A classic country store, this is a fun one and serves as a great little break from the nearby trail.
