This is my follow up review…read more I would like to start by thanking Jimmy, the owner of the company for reaching shortly after I posted the review. Jimmy is a professional, a man of God, a pererson with integrity, and a humble heart. Quickly did he offer to make things right and I gladly gave him the opportunity. He checked my file and clarified the financing wonky loan statement by the finance company. Everything was cleared after I spoke with the goofy finance company. After I explained to him my first day experience and my zoning situation, Jimmy refunded me $419. Jimmy when beyond and with persistence to make thinks right and have a happy customer. I live and work by the same standards and he highly deserves 5 stars. Thanks Jimmy! You're a great businessman and a Godly man. You have won my future business and I will highly recommend you. We were referred to J Martin by a colleague of ours, and it was the BEST decision that we have made when it comes to HVAC. We are writing today to both share our past and present experience and to praise Jared Martin and his team, whose knowledge and dedication were absolutely invaluable in the service process. For years, we were constantly making repairs to our AC systems. Every summer we would be stressed out about the AC no longer functioning, so we would set the temperature higher than a comfortable level as to not strain the system and in hopes that it would not fail. But every summer something would go wrong and we would go days waiting for a temporary repair. If the upstairs AC went out, we would bring a mattress downstairs and sleep downstairs for days. Thankfully we have 2 separate systems to be able to do this. After 10 years of stretching out our old systems and constantly stressing on these components in our home that are meant to bring comfort, we were blessed to have discovered J Martin. Upon our first contact with J Martin in September of 2025, we had the pleasure of speaking with Ruby over the phone. She is such a kind and sweet person with phenomenal customer service. When we first began looking into repairing our Air conditioner, as with most people, we were a bit overwhelmed. Ruby and the other customer service staff were easy to get in contact with and they scheduled us very quickly. She was extremely transparent with coordinating our requests. She scheduled an inspection for our non-functioning downstairs system and we were blessed to have Jesus Ochoa come to our home. He is an absolute Gem of a human being. He didn't try to sell us on a new system at first, but instead he simply educated us on how the systems work and what the deficiencies in our systems were. The coolant was sub-level, our ducts were undersized and our condenser and furnace were simply old. He informed us that he could fix it and provided the cost to repair the system, but we would run into these problems again in the future (as we had been for 10 years since we purchased our home). The fact that he educated us with things we never had knowledge of helped us to make the decision to just purchase a brand-new complete system. New condenser, ducts, furnace, Merv 13 air filter, etc. When it came down to the day of our install, we felt so comfortable with the lead installer Santiago Nunez and his team Chris and Frankie. They were so courteous, professional and polite. The install went SO smooth and they patiently answered all of our questions and addressed our concerns. They did a great job of protecting our belongings during the install, including protecting our floors, carpets and clothing in our closet. Santiago, Chris and Frankie are the dream team! Last year we knew that we would eventually need to replace our Upstairs system as well sometime soon. We contacted J Martin again in June 2026 and Jesus showed up like a hero. We were already comfortable with his honesty and sincerity. He put together a system for us based on his knowledge of our home and we moved forward with a brand-new complete system. We were SO happy with the Lead installer Irvin and his crew Kevin, Oleyvo and Pablo. They were ALL extremely professional, kind and so considerate. Irvin and his crew went out of their way to make sure we were happy and they even did things pertaining to the system that they didn't even have to do!!! This new system is amazing. We got all of the components as with the previous system downstairs and in addition we got a new attic fan which helps a lot. J Martin also provides maintenance plans for AC and Heating systems as well. We purchased the plans for both of our systems and it is a valuable and necessary option for peace of mind. Shout out to Jared (Jr) for our last tune up!!! A/C repairs can be a very stressful and a scary process. Jared the Owner thoughtfully kept us informed and at ease every step of the way, and with the assistance of Jesus, Donny, Ruby, Satiago's crew and Irvin's Crew, they made the repair process an enjoyable experience. The company was never too busy to answer our questions, and promptly returned each of our phone calls. J Martin earned our trust and respect, and we will not hesitate to recommend them to our friends and family for their Heating and Air Conditioning needs. In addition, we will continue to speak highly of J Maritn because of our experience working with Jesus, Santiago, Irvin and their team. In closing, we would simply like to reiterate that J Martin team are valuable assets to their customers and company. The attic was hot, outside was hot and they continued working the first day they were on site for a little over 10 hours. The second day they spent about seven or eight hours and I got an entire system replaced. They were super friendly. They laid drop cloth down. They made sure to clean up all of the trash, they walked me through how to download the new app and how to operate it. They stuck around for a few minutes to answer any questions that we had. I will definitely be getting on a plan so they come out every six months for maintenance. I highly recommend this company.

They honestly didn't seem to really care. I understand they are dealing with a lot of people in need of a working air conditioner especially during a heat wave. While some responded and even came out to see what the issue was, the all were quick to tell me old unit had seen better days and there was nothing they could do but to get it replaced. I couldn't help but noticed how quickly the service tech converted to a sales person, offering me and quoting me over a 10K for a new unit. Obviously, my wife and I were not ready to dish out that kind of money just like that, so we decided to get a second or even 3rd opinion about it. We contacted Northstar, and David (the owner) took my call, and immediately arranged for a technician to come to our rescue in the middle of weekend. Ivan showed up and he took his time to go over every single possibility of what may be issue. He noticed we owned an older unit but did not mentioned it as the issue. Instead, he just focused on how to get it up and running again. After a thorough examination and while having a great chat, he discovered the root cause, some work from before had installed wrong and unnecessary parts to our unit and therefore had caused diminished performance to the point of breaking. He performed his miracle and was able to fix not only our AC unit but also stop our entire family continue to roast inside the house. The entire Northstar team was excellent! From David the owner taking my call, to Tamara taking my information and setting up an immediate appointment, and finally Ivan, who gave our AC unit another chance to breathe. All of them are just simply AWESOME! I don't usually take time to write reviews but my family and I are truly thankful how Northstar responded, conducted themselves, and performed just a great service in the middle of an intense heat in the middle of the weekend, when everyone else was just chilling. The technician Benny arrives at 9:00 extremely preoccupied, rushing through the repair comes in and ask the age and cost of my machine saying I needed a "hard start kit" for my compressor. So I questioned what was that and how of the machine is only 5 years old and is my compressor still working. He was snippy and rushing for me to answer to spend 750 without giving any type of detailed information, when we kept asking questions his responses were I have been doing this for 20 years and I am the owner. Upon looking it up online it said it was a temporary fix, so I asked Benny regarding that information and his response was it will last 5-20 years. Then he proceeds to keep asking do you want me to order the part and have someone put it in cause I have other appointments and "I get paid per hour". We asked him did we have Freon or were the fuses good and Benny answered yes. When I declined he asked for payment for the "repair service and kept on insisting I give him my credit card so he can run in it on his personal cell phone and not a company. So I was adamant about Zelle and when I requested the information he kept speed talking the information was lost in translation which only delayed him more. Zelle finally went through once I got the correct email address. After he left my home I called my appliance repairman to see if he can explain what the hard start kit was and would it be a lasting fix. He advised that doesn't sound right and made an appointment to come and check it out. My appliance repairman showed up checked my AC and discovered it was the fuse that needed replacing which only cost me $100 and I immediately had cold air. Do not use this company Benny is a scammer.
