Called yesterday afternoon and they arrived today to diagnose / repair. Very quick and efficient service!! Arrived on time, had the equipment and parts to fix the problem! My issue ended up being a bad capacitor on my condensing unit. Cory and Jesse diagnosed it within a few minutes and had the repair complete within 30 minutes. The cost for the repair was reasonable / fair and aligns with the industry standards. I have been in and around the construction industry most of my life. I wish I could say our air was fixed. We had a technician out Friday who told us we need a new blower motor but, they'd get back to us when they knew when they could have one in hand. I was later told it would be on a slow boat from china and would arrive Tuesday. I'm wondering why in the middle of summer those wouldn't be in stock and on trucks. Now, I'm looking at Wednesday for install. I told them that we were currently watching our disabled granddaughter while our daughter was on vacation. Thus, not a great time to have multiple days (6) of no air conditioning especially with over 100 degree days. That didn't seem to make them try any harder to resolve our issue any sooner. We spent $9,000.00 five years ago with Fire N Ice and now have a blown motor. I also asked for a written estimate and have none. I was given a verbal estimate of $775. But, nothing in writing. They honestly didn't seem to really care. I understand they are dealing with a lot of people in need of a working air conditioner especially during a heat wave. But keeping important components in stock I believe is crucial. read more

Several weeks ago, the circuit board in our old furnace was replaced, not an inexpensive endeavor. We were informed that the health of our old system was waning and that soon we would need a new system. Jason informed us that if we selected a replacement American Standard system, we would be given credit for our last investment in the old system. As we contemplated this offer, the old system gasped and gave its last breath of life. We decided to accept his offer and we now have a newly-installed American Standard Comfort Plus system. After a frustrating experience with another company that misdiagnosed my AC issue and tried to sell me an $8,000 duct replacement, my neighbor referred me to Fire -N-Ice and I couldn't be more grateful. Owner Jason came out, quickly identified the issue as a faulty thermostat (while honestly noting it could also be the circuit board), and replaced it the same day. When the problem persisted, he sent someone out the very next day to dig deeper, and sure enough, it was the circuit board, just as he suspected. Fire-N-Ice replaced our heating and air conditioning system with a heat pump system. One of the heat pumps was defective and Fire-N-Ice after a repair did not succeed, replaced the heat pump with a new unit. The services received was excellent and the individual doing the service and installations went out of their war to make sure we were taken care off. I called to have someone come out to give me a quote on a duct work and before I was able to make an appointment the guy says it'll be at least $4500. If you are ok with that then I can have someone come out next week. I thought this approach was weird as if they didn't want to come out unless I was willing to pay more than $4500. So, Doug comes out and goes up in the attic and comes down literally less than a minute and says, "I don't see anything wrong, but if you want I can have other guy come out and take a look at it". I take off for work so someone to come out and diagnose the problem and give me a fair quote but instead incompetent person comes out and says it's gonna be at $4500 to replace the ductwork and if Im ok with that they'll send someone else out to diagnose it. My question is then why did you even come out in the first place if you couldn't diagnose? There is no way he didn't see anything wrong up there because the other company had already came out and shown me pictures of what was going on up in the attic. I was trying to get a second opinion and get the best quote. So I called the office and this new employee ( so she says) that she has no idea what's going on and will have someone call me back. I asked for a manager to call me back but no one ever did. This company has incompetent people working for them with unorganized process on how to provide a diagnosis and an estimate. More so, no respect for people's time. I wasn't going to take another day off so they can come out again waste more of my time. They came out again on their own on the 11th without confirming the appointment with me. So unorganized company. read more

I recently had a new HVAC system installed. the technicians did a great job. They are polite, they work fast and they do an exceptional job cleaning up after themselves. The new unit does an excellent job heating my condo. My only complaint is the amount of noise from the unit. I had a technician come out to find out why it was making so much noise. I was told there is nothing that can be done to quiet the unit. However, I believe (and a second opinion confirmed this) that the size of my condo (1000 sq. ft.) was not taken into consideration when I purchased the unit. read more

My A/C stopped cooling 2 days ago at 2am and got an appt pretty easily. I paid the $90 checkout fee and was told that this would apply to all non-freon work. The technician was very good, friendly, and knowledgeable. I agreed to add the booster to keep my ailing condenser alive but was charged an additional $280. The part is only $15. I'm still ok with this as they need to make some money on labor. However, was hoping the $280 would include the $90 call fee. I asked about this but the technician said this is what the Fire-n-ice invoice shows. read more
