We had a blocked sink that we could not clear and had a great experience with Casper Plumbing. We found them on a facebook community board with multiple recommendations. I left a voice message and then received text communications coordinating a visit with a 3 hour window for the next day. Closer to the appointment, I was able to narrow down the timeline to know their eta. The young man who came out was polite and professional and efficient. He was able to clear the trap and vacuum out all of the hair/soap-scum/toothpaste that was causing the clog. They invoiced us through email, charge $250, which we were able to pay with a click. I have a leaking pipe under my shower tub. So I called Casper Plumbing and Heating because they have a lot of good reviews. Their rate is $250/hour, with free estimates. The first plumber came to inspect it on Monday and politely told me he didn't want to do it as it would be too difficult. Then a second plumber came on Tuesday. He checked our pipes and said the same thing. Two days later, I received a bill from Casper Plumbing and Heating for $400! What the hell! This is ridiculous!  I would NEVER do business with this company again. If anyone is looking to have plumbing work done, I would suggest you hire someone else. read more

I have used Casper Plumbing & Heating services twice and both times they were super reliable, responsive, and efficient. -------------------- The first time I used them was last month when my tenant's pipe burst early in the morning when she tried turning on the kitchen sink. I first had gone on Thumbtack to search for emergency services and was able to get an appointment for noon, but that other company kept pushing out the time they were able to come and also was unresponsive on text. I then went on Yelp to see if there was anyone that would be able to come out sooner. Casper was the first to respond and was able to come within 30 minutes. They installed new water lines to the kitchen sink where the pipe had burst, moving it a bit further away from the bulkhead door where there was a draft coming in, possibly contributing to the frozen pipes. They also suggested insulating the bulkhead door during the winter because of the draft coming in to prevent future issues. After the pipes were installed, there were issues with the kitchen sink, so they recommended replacing the faucet. Due to other emergencies because of the significantly cold weather we were having, they had to come back the next day to finish the job which was fine because only the kitchen sink was not able to be used. Since they were going to Home Depot to get a new faucet, I asked if he could also bring back insulation material that he recommended for the bulkhead door to prevent future issues. Someone came over early the next morning to finish the kitchen sink and not only did he bring the insulation material back, he also did the insulation for the door as well which was super helpful. ------------- I recently used them again to replace my gas water heater which started leaking around 930pm. I was out of state and needed someone reliable to get the job done ASAP. I texted Casper Plumbing and explained the situation and sent pictures around 10pm EST. Hoping they would be able to squeeze me in at some point the next day, I told them we'd leave the basement door unlocked so they can just go in to do the job whenever they can make time. They texted me back at 6:30am saying they can come by that day. An hour later, they arrived and finished the job in about 2 hours. I woke up to a text message letting me know the job was complete and a link to the final invoice. It was nice that they were able to complete the job without having to communicate back and forth about anything, especially since it was the middle of the night for me due to the time difference. Dealing with a leaking water heater while on vacation was stressful, but knowing I could rely on and trust Casper Plumbing to get the job done efficiently while I wasn't even around helped relieve some of that stress. While Casper Plumbing services aren't the cheapest, they also aren't on the super expensive end either. Due to their responsiveness, quality of work, and efficiency, I will definitely continue using them, especially if I need a job done right away. read more

I highly recommend Casper Plumbing for their services. Our 9 year old hot water heater sprung a leak or cracked and needed replacement ASAP. I requested several quotes via Yelp and their price came in the middle range. Pat came by within a couple hours after confirming we wanted them to do the job. Your mileage may vary since we are both in Quincy (although it's great to support local). The job was done quickly and efficiently (I attached some photos of the completed job). Pat was personable and friendly. The next day, we noticed some water pressure changes. Pat came out within 30 minutes to diagnose our problem, no questions asked. It was due to sediment buildup in the pipes and not from their workmanship. Their follow-on service is good - they don't leave you hanging if something needs to be checked out again. It appears the quickest way to communicate is via text through their phone number. We paid by check and our receipt was by email. EDIT: The water heaters they install are NOT mass save eligible. On the morning of January 18, 2025 at 6:17am, While turning left on a green light from Brook Street onto Newport Ave in Quincy, the car in which I was a passenger was nearly hit by the driver of a Casper van who blew through a solid red light while heading north. I saw the driver go through two more red lights along Newport, at the intersection of Holbrook Road next to Chipotle, and again at the intersection of Hancock next to Cathay Pacific before getting on the Neponset Bridge, which I caught on video and posted here. With this being a family-owned company, it should be easy for Casper to identify their own driver if they actually care about the safety of other people -- and with signage plastered all over the van -- their own business reputation. read more

I would like to update my negative review on a more positive note! I texted back and forth with the owners wife and she apologized for the things that were done wrong. I won't name the things! Let me clarify it, it wasn't the job that was done wrong, it was what they didn't do that should've been done. I just appreciate her understanding and apologizing for the workers and husband behavior. That's all I wanted....when someone has a business, the key thing to remember is the customer is always right, that's it. Learn to apologize to the customer because that's what will make your company great. You will have more and more customers because your regular customers will refer your company to there friends. Finding a trustworthy plumber or other types of service workers are always tough. I recently submitted a request for a quote and Casper Plumbing was one of the plumbers that the request ended up receiving the request. Issue: My bathroom sink stopped draining one day. I removed and cleaned out the p-trap below and checked out the drainage pipe in the wall noting no blockage. Even after using a manual plumbing snake and reattaching all pipes, the water was still not draining. Since I had snaked the pipes and saw no visible blockage, I was convinced that having the plumber come snake the pipe was not going to solve the problem. I spoke with Pat from Casper and he reassured me that if that had not solved the problem, he would not be charging me. Pat showed up during the COVID-19 time and had a face mask on. He was respectful and got right to work. Using an electric snake, he went into the pipes about 30 feet and reattached all the pipes. Sure enough, that solved the problem. The work came out to $250 and was comparable to all other plumbers that I spoke with. Having this experience, I would definitely recommend and keep Pat on the list for future plumbing work. read more

We had a burst pipe with 96 year old plumbing. Our regular plumber took a look at it and said he was not equipped to handle the job. I called Pat and he was able to take a look, determine what he needed to do, and start the job within the hour. He was thorough and careful. He and his partner had to cut some holes in closets, basement ceiling, and cabinetry. They had to get rid of old press pipe, and replace it from the basement through an interior wall up to the second floor and then across the floor. It was not an easy job.
