TLDR for you based on mine and everyone else's experience, NEVER GET YOUR HAIR CUT HERE. You will not get what you asked for and no one cares enough to try and fix it. I've been going to this place for ages, Tracey was my girl but after she moved away, I picked a stylist had my friend had used before. I showed her the picture I wanted, asked to for a trim, got a like 4/5 inches off instead. I told them this was not what I wanted, not even close. And what's they say? "Well, it'll grow out, just find a way to style it!" How are you going to mess up my hair so badly to the point I'm crying in the salon and proceed to tell me, after butchering said hair, that there's nothing you can do? I paid how much money for a hair cut that looks nothing like I asked for. Never going here again, such a waste. Go somewhere that does what you ask for. Period read more

It's a beautiful and clean salon. Especially with COVID, everything was spotless and well-spaced. Everyone was very welcoming and and seemed lovely. And I saw some clients with absolutely beautiful cuts at other stations. But I asked for side-swept bangs and I got blunt bangs (please see the picture I showed her vs the cut I received). I've been here 12 times and every time I tell the stylist what I want - and trust me I am VERY specific- I always end up with almost the exact opposite. I called Cassandra Salon and Spa, which I was referred to by a friend. Their receptionist Heidi was absolutely awesome! She was helpful and got me an appointment within 3 days. My stylist was Amber and she was exceptional. She and I talked about the state of the condition my hair was in, went over colors, cuts and she told me what she was doing throughout the entire appointment. I was in and out and so happy! I recently started going to Cassandra Salon but I will never go back. The woman who did my hair was a good stylist, but she violated New Hampshire Cosmetology regulations, which state the following under Section Bar 302.7 C1: All non-elctrical implements shall be sanitized and disinfected after each use on a person and shall be kept in a dry container or drawer. C3: All implements that have been used on a patron or soiled in any manner shall be placed in a closed container. Instead of following these guidelines, my stylist picked up a dirty brush that was lying out on the counter. It was full of previous patrons' hair. She pulled some of the hair out with her hand but left a great deal of it in the brush. Then she used the brush on my hair. I felt sick. After confirming that she had violated licensing requirements, I filed a complaint with the New Hampshire Board of Barbering, Cosmetology and Esthetics, as well as with the salon. Please go to another salon. If Cassandra lets their stylists get away with this kind of conduct, they have no right to be in business. read more

I got my hair cut by Nicole here and she did such a beautiful job!!! I hadn't got my hair professionally in over a year and it was looking ROUGH. The tricky part is I wanted to still keep a lot of my length and she did it absolutely perfect!!! She was so nice and even made sure that I was okay with the length before she cut it. When it came around to styling, she even took the time to explain to me how to style my hair the same way she was with the iron. This place is amazing. Super clean, upscale, with professional staff. I've recently moved to NH and was in search of a new hair salon to upkeep my balayage style. After what seemed like searching forever I ended up at a place called terra salon who had a girl that claimed balayage was her "specialty". Well after leaving quite literally the same way I came in, I was beyond disappointed. So I let my hair do it's thing for months before trudging out to find another salon. You guessed it, it was here! My stylist Kylie listened to what I wanted and then actually made it happen. Forever thankful for her. I had such a pleasant experience that I now am looking into other services offered by them. Paid almost $400, including tip. The stylist scheduled me and another person for highlights when I had made the appointment way in advance. She rushed my highlights, they came out in chunks. I had to go to another salon so they could fix them. They mentioned they were some really big gaps in my hair color. There is unconscious bias going on in this place. I don't think this specific stylist likes minorities and was kind of rude. Would not recommend to any women of color or minority to go to this place. I started coming here a few years back when David started working here. Since then I've had him cut my hair and all my sons hair and we've always been happy. I've also had Tracey do a fantastic job with my hair. Currently these days I see Lauren every 3-4 weeks and she does an amazing job on with my hair, beard, eyebrows and my (hate to say this) ears. Great salon everybody friendly and does a wonderful job. They are experts in their profession. I went there for 18 years, I thought of them as friends/family so to speak. My hairdresser is in very high demand, you actually have to book her a year in advance to get her services as I have done for the past 18 years. Then one day (18 years later) after the completion of my scheduled hair appointment- she turned to me and said "December will be our last appointment " I found out that she had no further openings except one for an entire year for me to book into. Cassandras booked her schedule up and never included me in that. I was shocked. And FWIW- the nobody seemed to care either. I felt like I was tossed out of there like a piece of trash. SO YOU MAY GET WONDERFUL SERVICE AND A TERRIFIC CUT BUT BE WARE -When they have decide for whatever reason they dont want your patronage any longer -they dont talk to you about they simply say "We have no openings" This is extremely hurtful to be left wondering what the heck happened. In my search for a replacement hairdressers and in conversation it was mentioned that sometimes when companies or employees become very successful they will eliminate clients to make room for new ones. First time I went there after a friends recommendation. I had Sky. I brought in several photos of Jennifer Anniston. I ahd dark hair and I wanted highlights and a cut. I walked in with dark long hair and walked out with half dark half blond f-d up cut. :( I was SOOOOOO disapointed, not only did I not get what I asked for, I got something not even acceptable. It looked horrible. After spending $200+, I called the manager back the next day and complained. She insisted that hes a TOP colorist but offered to redo it for free. I took the offer and got it fixed by someone else. It looked good. NOT jennifer anniston...but good. I guess you have to go to the hair stylist of the pros to get the same look. :( Anyway. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SKY. Other than that the place was nice. Pricey. Free beverages while you wait. Stylists are not very personable. Oh well. read more

I think first impression of appearance, is that you are wowed. The salon and spa are lovely to look at. Spa is a little bit small but that is because it's a lower extension to the main attraction-salon. Now, here is why I do not go here. I have been a client before and each time, the stylist acts very arrogant..you can sense cattiness in the air at this place. Why would you want to go to a place where you think you are being whispered about. Second of all, I sent my other half here and he had a bad experience. His hair was not cut modernly..but cut too short, like something from the 50's...just not up to modern standards. This goes with other people I know who used to be clients and stylists here..that left. When you try to explain your side of your experience, the attitude is unprofessional... Cassandra's is an attitude headache. Their staff, in general, are rude and they are constantly bickering at work, while your sitting in the chair getting your hair done. Cassandra's gives the false impression that they're upscale, with high prices and an air of snobbery, but is really just your average salon. There are better options worth driving to. read more

Went to this salon on the referral of a friend. Nice that they use Goldwell products. However, I had basic color on roots, a few foils, and a cut. Insanely overpriced. Quality of cut was fair-at best. Color wasn't great, at all. Stylist (Laurie D) said she's worked there for 15+ years. I would never recommend her. Had a frosted look to it. I'm 44 years old, coarse-curly hair but very easy to color. Had an orange hue....rather than carmel. Lesson learned. Total overpriced. Stay away. read more

I see Sonia for my facials and she is the best! I have struggled to find a good product for my acne prone skin and she suggested Skin Ceuticules and it has transformed my skin. I tried Cassandra at a friend's suggestion and was happy I did. I'm from suburban NY, so the pricing is very similar to what I expected to pay for hair / nails / etc. However, I feel like the service and atmosphere is much nicer than what I am used to. First of all, I've always found the ladies at the front desk to be super friendly and helpful. I also love that while you wait (or while you are having your haircolor set) they serve you a glass of wine (or water). My hairstylist is also very funny and sweet. When I was contemplating doing something different to my hair, she gave me a few free highlights in the front just to see if I would like them (and I did!). I just find that getting my hair done there is so much more relaxing and enjoyable than other places I've been. Getting your hair washed while sitting in a heated massage chair, getting your hair set while sipping a glass of wine, and getting a pedicure while sipping on a cocktail whose flavors match the ingredients of the monthly foot scrub -- it's so indulgent and wonderful. I have been going to Cassandra's for years even though I live in Boston. I have tried many salons here in Boston but had been paying WAY too much for a hair cut so I decided to just make the trip out every couple of months (Hair cuts are under $50). I actually had the misfortune of trying a small place in Brighton Center and they ended up messing up my hair. Luckily Rachel was able to squeeze me in and fix the disaster! Both Tracy and Rachel have done an amazing job on my hair cuts each time I go. I highly recommend getting your hair done by either of these ladies, you won't be disappointed. read more

25.00 to get estimate for Hair Straightening, the estimate was minimum $450.00 to 525.00 possibly a little more, and a note at the bottom of the estimate that there will be a recommendation for products needed to maintain hair. My wife's hair is already fairly straight, I just couldn't comprehend 525.00 to straighten hair. I heard they were pricey but this is REALLY pricey by 200 to 275.00. Not for us, "free@ glass of wine or not. I guess we wasted 25.00, better than 500.00 I will say a great atmosphere and nice place, but come back to earth on the pricing. read more

A voicemail was received from this salon and spa inviting me to some thing they are having. I do not appreciate the spammy nature of these calls. I have been a client of Cassandra Salon for over 10 years. Hair stylists are all phenomenal (I have had several over the years). They are professional enough not to get upset if you switch from one to another and are all excellent. I have never been dissatisfied with a color, cut, trim or highlight. Ever. My two star rating comes from recent experiences in the last year. I find the front desk reception to be friendly enough, but with an overlying air of arrogance. Call me crazy but I'll give an example. I had a cut, root touch up and all over color blend. I am a brunette so grey roots really show through. The bill came to $180 (yes, shocking.. but I apparently I had something done at the "sink" that was a $38.00 shine enhancer). Although I did call the hairdresser back to ask about the charge, apparently it had been discussed... I just was not clear and thought the "all over color" was being applied at the sink. Not an additional shine enhancer. So be it. I really hadn't budgeted spending that much money so could only afford a $10 tip. Honestly it was all I could afford. I didn't blow dry my hair at that appt. so I could afford to pay a decent tip. The woman at the front desk gave me a look of absolute disgust when I asked her to add an additional 10.00 to my bill. When I asked her if there was a problem she just snorted and said "not with me". I left feeling very upset and did I mention my hair was still wet? I could not afford the extra money for the blow dry (an additional $25.00). Cassandra employs many talented hair stylists. Many. I have gone elsewhere for services like nails, eyelash extensions and color mainly because there are services outside Cassandra that rival their talent, but for better prices. After 10 years of loyalty to Cassandra, I've moved on. read more

After living in NYC for the past 12 years and experiencing 3 months of a pandemic, I finally came home for rest, and unfortunately, overgrown color. I work at Allure Magazine which means access to famous stylists as needed--my own does color for big-name celebs and brands including Balenciaga and Celine. After realizing I may not see her until fall at the earliest (a gap of 8 mos in total), I did a bit of research and landed on Kylie Rigney for a natural-looking blonde full highlight. I went in last Friday and have to say the color is beautiful. We talked through what I wanted and she matched it to perfection. She's incredibly talented and could easily be dropped into a very high-end NYC salon (in a pre-COVID world) with many happy customers. read more

Based on their website and a few reviews I booked an appointment here. I'll agree with the other reviewer, very snobby and extremely over priced for what it is. They do give a false impression that they're a high end salon, the most high end thing you'll experience is being offered tea or water with lemon and some sort of colored sugar scrub that has 'papaya enzyme' in it. Meh. For the cost of this, it's better just to drive to Cambridge and get a decent pedicure at one of the salons down there. read more

I was a regular customer at Cassandra's for about three years. Usually, I would just go in for a cut or a slight color change. They handle these types of requests really well. It was when I started asking for more complicated services that I became disappointed. I went in to have my hair and makeup done for my prom, and they botched both. The person I made the appointment with to do my hair cancelled, and they gave me to some other stylist whom I did not know. She rushed the job, and kept talking about how she was expecting a call from her doctor. I get it if you're concerned about a medical test, but shouldn't you not be working if it's that serious!? I ended up looking like Shirley Temple. Not exactly what I wanted. I had to fix it myself at home, and it still looked horrible. Then, my makeup. They use all-mineral makeup, which is nice, but they went way too far with the eye makeup. It looked horrible. I had to take it off and re-do it myself. And it was pretty expensive. Then, a couple of months ago I went in to have my hair brought from a light brown/reddish shade to a dark brown. I walked out of the salon with nearly-black hair, which did not flatter my pale complexion. I had to fix it myself with one of those drugstore hair color removal kits. That experience was the last straw. Their prices are ridiculous for such terrible service. I will not return to this salon. read more

Went here to get a lash tint based on reviews, and they came out fine. When I got home, I noticed one eye was darker than the other, but it's probably only noticeable if you're scrutinizing my lashes. The girl who performed the tint, Cassie (thought not *the* Cassie as I asked) was very sweet, gave me a hand massage while the dye penetrated. I suppose this is more of a review of lash tint in general-- just didn't seem worth the drive from Boston or the expense. Not a dramatic enough effect for me, although I have been spoiled by lash extensions in the past. If your going for a subtle change, I recommend just doing it yourself with 1000 Hour Lash Tint, it's simple enough and a twelfth of the cost. read more

I went to the same stylist at Cassandra for years. Silly me. I don't think my stylist even once asked me about myself. I know he didn't know (or care) what I did for a living. If I walked out of there loving my hair, I would have overlooked the arrogance but my hair was just average and their prices are inflated. I switched to Limelight Salon in Hudson and love that place. Melissa does my hair and won't let me leave unless I'm 100% satisfied. Their prices are great too. Cassandra needs to take a few lessons from Limelight. read more
