Worst hair salon! Rude employees! Loud place. Crappy vibe and they wrecked my hair! ‍‍‍‍

I'm new to the area and was nervous about having someone else take over my hair. I called and asked for an appointment with an experienced stylist. The receptionist recommended Lona and I'm so glad she did! My hair looks and feels great, I'm more than pleased. Lona is a pro and so fun to chat with! This is a BUSY salon! They've been in the same location for about ten years. It's difficult to rate a salon, when the stylist is really the reason for going. Having said that, I must highly recommend mine: she likes to style my hair to be a little "edgy" after a cut, which I love, but can never quite accomplish on my own. So, until the next morning I feel like a really cool chick! She starts out with a very nice head and shoulder massage, then moves on to the shampoo, cut, and blow dry. This is one highly skilled stylist. I agree with the other reviewer that this salon is busy, but they moved next door to a larger space and now there is more elbow room between stations. Their receptionists are very friendly and I like the variety of hair products that they offer. Ask for Gyung Cahill! She is excellent. I always get lots of complements on the cut and color of my hair. It looks really good the day that she styles it, too bad I can't exactly replicate the way that she does it when I get home! I've gotten to see her style other people's hair while my color is setting and I've liked their styles too! She has an eye for giving cuts that flatter your face, not run of the mill. read more

I had been going to another salon for years so I am sure you can understand that I was a little nervous about finding a new one. But after reading the great reviews here on Yelp, I decided to give this new salon a try. My hair designer is Shanna and she is AMAZING! I needed a color update after wearing the same color for about 8 years and she made me feel very assured that the new color she would give me would be perfect, and it was! Shanna has over 24 years experience as a hair designer and the results I received when I visited her demonstrated her experience. She's fun to talk to and friendly too! Went here hoping for a bad haircut so I could complain and get a discount or a free haircut. Unfortunately the stylist that cut my hair named Geneva made my hair come out astonishingly amazing and had me looking so fresh that everyone in the salon began making a circle around Geneva while she was cutting my hair. It was as if Edward Scissorhands walked out of the movie and into this salon in the form of Geneva. Dang, I was banking on the haircut being bad so I could hopefully attract attention that would get me a discount. It wasn't to be. The staff and Geneva weren't rude either which totally bugged me since that would have been my second chance to win favor. On the contrary, the service was quite exceptional so once again I was stumped. Then finally my haircut was done. When I looked into the eyes of the people who had gathered and formed a circle around us, I could see and hear the whispers of amazement which felt like it went in slow motion. I could see the reaction to a robust and quintessential haircut that altogether consumed all of the spectators who had gathered around us. Geneva then rubbed this creamy concoction of premium blend hair gel into my hair. That was the last straw. How can a salon and stylist provide such exceptional haircuts and create remarkably fresh appearances which in the moment, had promoted me to the equivalent of a male model during fashion week in Milan as the crowd undeniably stared in wonder at the aura that had begun to glow around my hair? It was a light bluish aura which embodied all of the greatest haircuts mankind had ever offered up. It was as if I was the chosen one and Geneva's hands were touched with an unexplainable force that helped create the greatest haircut known to mankind. I went to Anjoli for base color and highlights. I discussed with the stylist what I wanted and more importantly, what I did NOT want. I told her if she didn't think she could do it, I would prefer a different shade. She assured me she could do it. After the color was done, it was exactly the color I said I didn't want. Although I had already been there almost two hours she talked me into staying so she could correct it. After another hour it was still pretty much the same but she was telling me it was the light making it look like that. She told me if it didn't work for me after a few days to call her. I called her and now, a month and a half later, she still hasn't been able to get me in. SO disappointed with my hair, and having paid good money for a hair color I specifically said I didn't want. read more

I'm fairly new to this area and I am still searching for the right nail spa. After seeing the perfect reviews, I decided to try this place. I called to make an appointment, because it's more of a salon and they don't do strictly nails but I would imagine that they can take walk-ins also. They were able to scheduled me an appointment later that day with Sarah, one of their nail techs. She was able to take me right away and started doing my manicure. She shaped my nails very nicely, clipped the cuticles and gave me a really relaxing hand massage. For the pedicure, she lead me to another room with massage chairs. She did a very thorough pedi including shaping my toenails, clipping the cuticles and scrubbing my feet. Overall, it was super relaxing and moderately priced. Because the salon is right next to the room where the nail spa is, it's quite distracting if you are trying to relax. There was some banging on the wall that went on for a good hour and a few of the stylists walked through the area talking on their phones or chatting with others and it seemed a bit rude. Sarah was very nice and I really enjoyed how detailed she was! I highly recommend her. read more

What ever you do, DO NOT go to Shanna. She is terrible at cuts and ever worse at color. She also promises refunds and shockingly doesn't deliver. She swears by her 20+ years as a stylist, but doesn't tell you about any education shes had. She makes fun of you and where you live. All around not a person I'd ever speak highly of. Not quite sure how she has a job really. Anjoli is beautiful on the inside, very well kept. Not sure what products they promote as what was handed to me was nothing I had seen before. I spent a lot of money to have to go somewhere else to have it done correctly and by someone who was educated, knew what had happened and apologized for the fact I had to pay twice. That is a professional. This place does not hire that kind of stylist. My advice, just go somewhere else. read more

I called on Monday of last week to make an appointment for a haircut. They had something available the next day, but didn't fit into my schedule. I went on Thursday and had Rachelle. She is so awesome! Obviously loves her job and meeting new people. She did a great job on my hair and sold me some local, organic hair products. My only "complaint" would be the person who I checked in with at the front desk was not very friendly, but it wouldn't prevent me from going here again.I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! read more

Excellent cut and color by Courtney, as always. I highly recommend her. I've been going to her for about 10 years now and have followed her from her previous salon. Both my daughter and I use her and have never been disappointed. Between the two of us we've had long hair, short hair (and everything in-between). We also both like to experiment with cuts and different colors. She's always been up the challenge and we've never been disappointed! A previous reviewer mentioned an issue with Courtney doing long hair, but I believe that was an issue with the front desk person. Trust me, Courtney definitely knows how to do long hair! At one point my daughter's hair was to her knees and Courtney knew exactly what to do with it. read more

So I called this place yesterday to make an appointment. The receptionist asked me what I needed and I told her a cut and permanent color. She asked me if I needed foils I said no. She asked if it was a base and I said I guess. She told me I could come in next week at X time, and took all my info, then she says "Ok for a cut and roots" and I said no, I need my entire head colored, not just the roots, and then she rudely replied "well that's not a base". Excuse me, Hair Place Phone Answerer, I don't know the correct salon lingo. I have enough struggle trying to remember freakin' Starbucks lingo, I'm not going to add hair terminology to something I need to know. Just cut this jacked up mess and make it black everywhere. Done. Now the receptionist starts having a meltdown because she doesn't know if Courtney can do long hair on that day, and she is going to have to call me back after 2pm to make sure that Courtney can accept this challenge. I said fine, call me back this afternoon and let me know. Well, she never holla'd back, so I guess Courtney can't deal with cutting my long hair for whatevs reason. This place is definitely driving the struggle bus. Word to the owner: your receptionist is your first impression and she needs to GO. She's going to sink you like the Titanic forrealz. Thankfully I was able to find another salon nearby that has the ability to cut and color long hair, didn't quiz me on hair verbiage, and had a friendly receptionist. read more

Disappointing. Called for an appt and was given a time. Fifteen minutes later I received a call pushing the appt even later. (huge waste of my time and money, considering I was paying a sitter for a completely useless outing). When I showed up at the revised appt time, the stylist finally came out quite flustered and told me they made an error in even giving me an appt, but that she would "try and fit me in". She was clearly uninterested in working with me and I definitely did not want to be "squeezed in" as in inconvenience to her. This was my first and only experience here. I'm not going to let someone "try and fit me in" after botching my appt time three times. Kind of a disaster of a place. Also- bathroom was insanely dirty and I almost choked from the odor in there. read more

Since I haven't heard back from the owners, I can only assume that either they never received my correspondence (was it intercepted?) or that they don't care that I had an unfortunate and unacceptable experience at the hands of one of their stylists, Shanna, on 23 November. My daughter was home visiting from college and needed a color touch up. Her hair is extraordinarily long... she's been purposely growing it out since she was a child. Shanna immediately began pressuring her to cut it shoulder-length and to go darker than Hannah wanted to. She told her she would "look more professional." My daughter's 18 and in college, as she told Shanna... when she wants to look professional, she puts her hair in a bun. She told her she didn't want it cut, only colored (lighter, as she was trying to get the dark color OUT of her hair.) Shanna kept pressuring her... she told her that the other stylists would judge her harshly if she allowed Hannah to walk out of the salon with her hair that long. I'm sorry but SINCE WHEN DOES THE STYLIST DECIDE WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN TO OUR HAIR???!!! AND WHY SHOULD WE CARE WHAT THE OTHER STYLISTS THINK OF EACH OTHER???!!! Hannah eventually relented and told Shanna she could take ONE INCH. You guessed it... Shanna took EIGHT!!! And then she said "I'm going to add layers" and the layers come up so high that Hannah's still trying to figure out how to make a bun without hair sticking out all over the place. WHEN did it become OKAY for the stylist to dictate her plans rather than ask for the client's wishes???!! My daughter was devastated and will have to spend years growing her hair back to the length she loved. I remain pretty pissed off about the incident itself AND the fact that no one responded to either my email or my written note. Hence, the negative review. read more

I have been going to the salon for almost a year to get my very long hair cut, colored, highlighted from Amy Nicoson and I am love with how she makes my hair look each time I go. Then I decided to cut about 5 inches off my hair, when I told Amy she wasn't sure if I really wanted to cut it off...but i assured her I did. So she did it! She also make the red color of my hair more vibrant with bold blonde highlights. When I looked in the mirror I couldn't believe that she read my mind and cut my hair exactly like I wanted it without me even telling her what i wanted - I only said I wanted it to be shorter. I love love love my new hair style and everyone I see comments on how great it looks (even with me blow drying it myself)!
