They messaged me back within less than 10 minutes, giving me a flat rate price of $225 for the service and tried to book me the same day unfortunately I was unavailable but they booked me the next day by giving me a two hour window. Justin showed up 20 minutes before the start of the two hour window, looked at the crawlspace said no problem. He got suited up and went underneath to explore and within five minutes he'd come back out letting me know that it was not a rat, but actually a large opossum. He just got a few trash bags went back underneath took a few pictures and picked up the large opossum taking it out to the truck. He was in and out in less than 30 minutes, he even gave me ideas on how to make sure that this doesn't happen again and other services that they provide. During the process, I came in contact with about a half dozen team members, all of whom were friendly, professional, and personally concerned with our wellbeing. That was important because I found that ridding a home of rodents is not easily achieved. The initial step was to survey the house, seal potential entry sites, then set the traps. The HS team completed the process and set up an appointment to check the traps. after a couple visits, we still heard the vermin scratching around. So, HS brought in a senior inspector who found a few open areas I never would have thought to identify (openings between the outside wall and the foundation that were tucked up underneath the visible area). Those areas were sealed and within ten days, we no longer heard anything. I check of the traps today revealed a large intruder had been eliminated. Home shield performed like partners in our quest to eliminated rodents from our home. They came back as often as needed without complaint and escalated appropriately to assure our problem was solved. And importantly, they never once questioned our reports of hearing critters.

From a customer's perspective, everything is presented as one company, but once you actually deal with different services, it feels like you are dealing with completely different companies. The communication between departments is confusing, and customers are left to deal with the consequences of their internal organization. What is even more frustrating is what happens when you try to change your plan. You would think that as a long-term customer, you should have some flexibility to switch between services, especially when you no longer need a particular service. Instead, I was told that changing my plan could result in a cancellation fee before I could move to another service. This is extremely frustrating and feels very unfair. I am essentially being charged for trying to change services within the same company. The way these plans and cancellation policies are structured is not clear enough, and I believe customers should pay very close attention to the fine print before signing up. I consider myself one of the customers who has been negatively affected by this system. What makes this even more disappointing is that I have been a loyal customer for a long time. You would expect a long-term customer to be treated better, not feel like they are being trapped by complicated plan structures and cancellation fees. My biggest concern is the lack of transparency. The company may present everything under one brand, but when you actually need to make changes, the process can become extremely complicated. Customers should be clearly informed upfront about which services are handled separately, what happens if they want to switch plans, and whether cancellation fees will apply. I am sharing my experience because I want potential customers to be aware of these issues before signing up. After being a long-term customer, this experience has seriously damaged my trust in the company. I hope they will eventually make their plans, fees, and policies much more transparent and customer-friendly.
