I tried my best to rid my house of the rodents that took up residence but finally called in Home Shield (HS) as the experts. During the process, I came in contact with about a half dozen team members, all of whom were friendly, professional, and personally concerned with our wellbeing. That was important because I found that ridding a home of rodents is not easily achieved. The initial step was to survey the house, seal potential entry sites, then set the traps. The HS team completed the process and set up an appointment to check the traps. after a couple visits, we still heard the vermin scratching around. So, HS brought in a senior inspector who found a few open areas I never would have thought to identify (openings between the outside wall and the foundation that were tucked up underneath the visible area). Those areas were sealed and within ten days, we no longer heard anything. I check of the traps today revealed a large intruder had been eliminated. Home shield performed like partners in our quest to eliminated rodents from our home. They came back as often as needed without complaint and escalated appropriately to assure our problem was solved. And importantly, they never once questioned our reports of hearing critters. read more

From the first visit, this company was one disappointment after another. Their billing practices feel extremely shady. They failed to show up for months, then still expected us to pay for service during months when no one came. It is almost impossible to reach anyone by phone unless you are a new customer trying to sign up. As an existing customer, you sit on hold forever, assuming anyone answers at all. The service itself was mediocre, but the way we were treated was even worse. At one point, someone came to our door, said they could put a lien on our house if we did not pay, walked around the property, did not spray anything, and then left. That was the one and only visit we had in four months. There are far too many pest control companies out there to deal with this. I would not recommend HomeShield Pest Control. read more

Ants, ants, ants!! I was getting so paranoid with ants. They were everywhere, from our cat dishes to our beds. All those gels and ant baits we were able to get our hands on stopped working, so I searched on Yelp for help. HomeShield Pest Control responded so swiftly and was able to send a service rep out quickly. And voila! After the first visit, the ants were gone! It was like magic. And Richard, our service rep, was so great. He sprayed our house inside and out, cleaned out all the spider webs around the exterior of the house, and best of all, he was just so respectful of our property, friendly, and informative. To start off, I had an ant problem. Very quickly, I was able to get in touch with someone and arrange my initial spray. Did wonders! Service is PHENOMENAL- zero doubt about that. The guys that come to spray are kind, knowledgeable, and super respectful of your home. The only drawback is that you are locked into a yearlong contract where you pay monthly, but you're only serviced every 3 months. I didn't realize that until after I got billed (I should have read the contract better). However, that being said, if you have a pest problem, they come back to spot "spray" in between sessions. If you have the budget, definitely go for it. read more

This review is based on the free inspection performed by Dee (Dindial). He was extremely thorough. Right when I thought he was going to give up on finding some holes, he kept searching, and we got to the bottom of where the entry points were leading into the house. He also checked out our attic and he assessed the insect and spider situation. Overall, I am very impressed and I used to have Aptive but I wanted to check out some other options. This company is a little more pricey than Aptive, but I love the fact that I get to bundle things and get a discount. I will update this review if I decide to move forward with the quote. The only reason I haven't signed up is because I want the annual subscription and I'm not sure what bundle I want to go with. As a follow up, all of the bugs are gone, so the product works for sure. Mike, one of the managers, reached out to me a day or so later and apologized for the process. He was very conciliatory, and said he had reviewed all the stuff that wasn't supposed to happen prior to that employee doing his job. Seems like it was just a miscommunication on their end.
