I've been going here for awhile and they are usually ok. Sometimes I have to ask them to fix or clean things up, but today was a bad one. I asked the lady to fix my pedicure because it was bubbling. She put another coat on. When I got to the front by the sun I could see that the polish looked chunky and uneven. Michael asked me to sit back down and they would redo them. Another man came by and said he didn't see anything wrong with them. And seemed very irritated. He starting speaking Vietnamese to Michael, the owner. They went back and forth for a bit before I decided to just leave. It had been over an hour for a pedicure. When I went to pay, Michael seemed annoyed with me and they continued to speak in Vietnamese. I called Michael later to say that I wasn't happy with the service and the way they were treating me. He claims he must speak Vietnamese to his employees, which I completely understand. But it was pretty obvious they weren't talking about me nicely. Sad to say this was my last time I'll be going here. Ultimately the bad customer service was my last straw. read more

I've lived in Castaic for 6 years and recently went in to Castaic Nails. I remembered quickly why I haven't been in there since I first moved here. There is NO posted prices, when you ask how much different procedures are, you get different answers, none of them are friendly, and one of the most irritating things is they rudely speak their Vietnamese language with one another in front of the customers. There were 3 of us wanting a Pedicure and one of them said "come back in 20 minutes" which we did. They started working on 2 of us shortly thereafter but I was left with no explanation or prediction as to when they would get to me next. 15 minutes later I walked out. The other two people I was with later reported that the job was mediocre at best. I like to give the business to our local shops but with so many choices around Santa Clarita, I'll gladly drive to get good service. read more

Fast forward 5 Mo's, I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS place. The owner Michael is a complete jerk! He is sarcastic and rude and has NO PROBLEM making his customers feel uncomfortable and like they are talking about you in their language! I have given him chance after chance but TODAY was it. No excuse for being an asshole and getting paid for it apparently in his eyes! Never AGAIN! If I could give it less of a rating I would, no one should be exposed to his nonsense! If you are considering going here out of convenience, IT IS NOT WORTH IT! You an see for yourself in the pictures he had done Mickey Mouse on my nails more often then not. All of a sudden He doesn't know how to and made me horrible for asking and would intentionally make the round head way too big for ears. After living in the bay area for 5 years and going to the same place and calling it home, "hesitant" was an understatement when I went to try out Castaic Nails but let me tell you, I was impressed. Juuuust like my home in the bay. I loved the fact that after the first visit Michael and Quinn remembered my name, knew what I wanted, and how I liked my nails. I loved the fact that they are clean, speak clear English the entire time, and are the epitome of professionalism. I now take my best friend every time I go and they make our girls day top notch. Got my nails done (new set of white tips) and my eyebrows done and it was great. My first time here and I will definitely be coming back. Very reasonably priced and the people are very friendly. One thing is remember to bring cash for the tip because unfortunately you can't write it in if you pay with a card. I didn't have much cash so I felt bad for the young ladies that helped me. So glad I found Castaic Nails! Michael the owner is great, as is his wife! They've always been nice and professional and have always done a wonderful job on my nails. I just don't understand the negative reviews. The only thing I can think of, Mickey Mouse lady must be really obnoxious and hard to please. I've been to this salon twice, second time I walked in Quinn remembered my name, very impressive, they all do a wonderful job. I had my nails done with Gel at the end of May it's now July 5th that's how long my nails looked great. I'm going to have them done tomorrow because my nails have grown so much. I usually just get an acrylic overlay on my nails and they seem to last longer when I get them done here. Michael's work is always clean and of great quality. I work nearby so I usually go before or after work. Everyone has always been extremely nice to me and have not had any problems with their work. I usually just get a full set of acrylics and have them paint them a solid color. Last time I went it I asked for an oval/pointed shape and he did it perfectly. I like to come here because I feel like they last way longer than any of the other places I've been to and the price is p good. Only one complaint, he usually doesn't push my cuticle back before he applies the acrylic, so I have to remember to do it before he starts working on my nails. After being a loyal customer of Castaic Nails for OVER TEN YEARS, today will be the last day I ever step foot in this "salon," and I use that term loosely in this case. Let me say that Quyen (pronounced "Quinn") is THE BEST for pedicures. She's detailed, she's gentle, she gives a nice little foot massage... all good things. However, her husband Michael is another story. Back in 2009, I paid for an airbrush design (an extra $20 for ALL of my fingers) and I asked him (Michael) to please spray the white on heavier since the top coat all but erased the airbrushing. Well, he proceeded to YELL at me saying that I make "demands" and he just can't do it! I made sure to mention that I wasn't "demanding" anything $20 EXTRA should already get me but he still yelled at me. I didn't blow up like I wanted to and just decided I'd continue going for the awesome pedicures Quyen gives but would get my hands done somewhere else. After about 6 years, I decided it's just too inconvenient to make more than one stop for paws and claws, and time has mellowed me so I'm not AS picky about my nails anymore, so I went ahead and started having Michael do my nails again. Today made me remember why I DO NOT pay him to do my nails, and now I won't even come back for the pedicures. So..... last visit, I paid extra to have the pretty seashell acrylic put on but I noticed after I was home that he BARELY used any of the specialty acrylic he charged me $10 extra for. Just now as I sat at his table for my appointment with him, I started to explain that I wanted him to just overlay some additional seashell acrylic because you could see right through it. This man proceeded to start yelling AGAIN (clearly this is just who he is if after all these years his reaction to a simple request is so dramatic and exactly the same), and all but kicked me out! Just because I asked him to put a little more acrylic?! He wouldn't let me talk, he just kept talking over me. He started to try and argue with me and when I wouldn't have it, he told me to have someone else do my nails, threw his hands up and yelled "I'm done!" and STORMED OFF! Wow! Let me repeat: AFTER OVER TEN YEARS OF PATRONIZING HIS BUSINESS- - AND EVEN TIPPING HIM!!! (In case anyone is not familiar, we are not required to tip the owner of a shop, AND MICHAEL IS THE OWNER.) I tried appealing to Quyen but sadly, she was no help. I said I would NEVER be back after she asked me to still come for my pedicures. Michael came back out from the back (a few times!) and tried to go in for round two, three, four... but I'll be honest, after all the crap I've taken from someone who doesn't pay MY bills, I shut him down and wouldn't let him speak. No, sweet cheeks... *I'M the one who's done. The work done in this salon is NOT worth the trouble. Anyone looking for a nail salon in the area, do what I didn't do and go ANYWHERE else. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE! I wanted to get a quick gel manicure on Friday after work. I didn't feel like driving very far so I settled for Castaic Nails. I got a Gel Manicure. I didn't ask how much it would be. I sat down with a woman who told me she was new. Apparently she used to work in Canyon Country as an esthetician. I want to say her name was Jennifer but that could be completely wrong. I wanted to have a french tip. She did my manicure and shaped my nails like usual. It wasn't until later that I noticed they were crooked and different lengths. She started with the base coat. I cured my nails for four minutes but I knew that the base coat should only be curing for two minutes. However, I didn't say anything. She then started putting on the white tip very sloppily. She was planning on going back with acetone to take off the excess. There was another woman sitting next to her speaking Vietnamese the entire time during this process. She said something and then the woman set the white gel polish down and started taking it off my nails. At this point I was irritated because she wasted twenty minutes. I let her do her thing and just decided to watch TV. But before she started to apply the polish to the rest of my nails I told her that I did not want it on my cuticles because then it would lift. She started laughing at me and made some joke that I couldn't understand. When she was finished, I had polish on my cuticles and at my fingertips. I was very irritated because I made it a point to make sure that didn't happen. I asked her how much it was and she told me 32...RIDICULOUS. Do they think this low-end nail salon can charge this much. I left flustered but I just wanted to get out of there. When I got home I noticed there was still white residue left below the white line where she had applied the polish the first time and then whiped it off. It hasn't even been a week since I've had my gels on and they are completely ruined. THEY LOOK AWFUL. I will never...NEVER go back to this salon. They have terrible customer service and they do a terrible job...I'm not sure why they are still in business. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I got a pink and white full set, that night one of the nails chipped. I went first thing the next morning to have it repaired. the man working told me he could not help me and i had to come back in two hours because he "had an appointment" THERE WAS NOBODY ELSE THERE. and it takes 5 minutes to fix a chipped nail! when i left, i saw the same man through the window go and sit down and proceed to drink his coffee. i seriously doubt he even had an upcoming appointment. I've gone there three times. They say they take walk-ins. My first two times there I was a walk in. The man at the front counter asked me to pick a color from the wall and have a seat. The pedicures were o.k. I was in a hurry both times and did not want to drive into Valencia for a pedicure. The third time I came I needed a pedicure. The same man was at the front counter servicing a customer. I greeted him and I asked for a pedicure. As I proceeded to a selection of a nail polish on the wall to pick a color, as I did the first two times I was there, he literally rolled his eyes at me and said I needed an appointment. There were two customers in the place at the time. I informed him that I did not need an appointment the other times I came. He very rudely stated that I needed an appointment now. I could understand if the place was crowded but it wasn't. I told him to have a nice day and I left. I gave them two stars because they did do an ok job on my previous two pedicures. read more
