Do NOT recommend. I messaged several roofing businesses via yelp for an estimate. This company asked for my address in order to provide an estimate. I gave my address and never heard back, so I moved on to another company. Today, 10 days after they never responded after I gave my address, while in the middle of a meeting, I hear a bang outside and my dog freaks out. I go outside to find two men with a ladder against the front of my house and climbing to the roof! I had no idea they were coming and they were fully on their way to climbing up my house without my permission! The problem wasn't even on the roof, so I have no idea what they would have done once they got up there. When I messaged the company to say I didn't appreciate them coming unannounced and unscheduled, I was told it was my fault for not specifying that I expected a call before they showed up! Wild. Do NOT send this company your address--even for an estimate--or else they may randomly show up to your house and climb up on your roof unannounced and they will go up there whether you are home or not. I'm fairly stingy with my ratings so take this Good rating as sign of a quality roofing company who stands by their work. Even a Good roofing company is hard to find in Philadelphia. I have found Marcy the owner is to be straightforward and honest, and though she can be a bit brusque at times, as she is in the Philadelphia roofing business I can understand. Their pricing is reasonable for quality of work. No roofer is cheap and if you apparently find one, don't trust them. We have a complicated roofscape (skylights, large AC unit mounts and penetrations, and major crickets required to clear drainage obstructions) and some leaking problems that predate our ownership. Castelli, and particularly their foreman Jimmy, have been generous in attending to drainage problems that may or may not have been a result of their work. I appreciate their work and the efforts made to help us negotiate our finicky roof. read more

I've been meaning to post a review of Castelli Roofing for a long time now, and so finally getting around to it. We had to re-do our roof quite a few years ago, and then had them come out several times for periodic recoating since then (and probably due for another). They are very responsive and communication is good. Costs seem to be in line with the market in general. We didn't have leaks beforehand and it doesn't leak now so all I can say about that is so far so good. We have recommended them to many of our neighbors and probably eight or 10 other houses nearby have used their services and everything I have heard has been very positive. Hopefully I don't need any roof repair in the future but if I do I would use them. read more

Castelli has become my go-to roofer, maintaining a roof they didn't install and one that they did. Also did drain boxes and chimney caps and everything has held up will for years. Cooperative and easy to work with. Do your part, keeping up with your inspections, and they do theirs, coming out to address any leaks that arise during warranty (only happened once to me after several years). They also did a nice job capping my crumbling, asphalt shingled 2nd floor bumpout with vinyl. If you have a two-story S Philly rowhouse you know what I mean. Looks great! read more

Found good reviews on Yelp and just reached out through the app and communication was easy and response time was plenty quick enough for non-urgent maintenance that was needed. The estimate and the work were completed with minimal to no contact and most importantly with hiring contractors they actually did what they said they would do on the timeline they said they would do it in. Can't confirm the actual repairs yet as the work was just completed but next time we have a heavy rain I'll try to remember to update. read more

My experience with Castelli Roofing has been unreliable to say the least. There is a leak in my home and I had been given their name by the previous owner of my home as they had done work on it last year before it was sold to me. Figuring they already know the house, they should obviously be the best fit to figure this out and get it done asap. 8/24 I called and I spoke to Marcy who said she would call me back to schedule something....she never did. I called several times 8/27, 9/3, 9/4 and left messages. Then on a Thursday 9/5, I get a call from Dominic saying he can see me on the next Monday at 8am as they don't do weekends, ok sure. Monday 8:30am comes and no one is here so I call Marcy and as usual she does not pick up (mind you I had not spoken to her since I first called her). Then I call Dominic right afterwards, no answer. I text Dominic at 8:45am asking whats going on and he replies to me at 3:15pm. His excuse is that there was another big job that took too long and call Marcy to reschedule for later this week, have a great day! Really? I'm schedule several days before for an 8am slot on a Monday (which should be the first apt of the day according to you) and your company didn't have the foresight to schedule around this big job? In 2019, Castelli Roofing has no way of communicating their appointments with eachother or using calendars so they can schedule around big projects? Plus the shoddy work they did only last year that I can only feel like they're shying from taking responsibility on. They have no respect for people's time and they made me look bad and unreliable to my tenants. read more

I had my roof done in January 2019 and they applied this white granules coating on it. Every time it rains some of the granules end up on the pavement in the front as well as in my back patio TO THIS DAY! I have complained about this and Marcy made fun of this saying that if she was me she would be picking up a broom. I hired Castelli Roofing to install a new rubber roof on both the main house as well as the kitchen extension on my property--some where in Grays Ferry-because both were in bad shape. The process was stress free as they were able to assess the problem without me taking the day off. Once an agreement was signed for the work they immediately began work in the roof just before the next heavy rainfall. The roofers were thorough and made sure the new roof was properly sealed. They allowed me to watch and answered any questions/concerns that I had. They were knowledgeable and helpful. I did not give them all 5 stars because it hasn't been a year since the install and I wanted to see how well their work/product will stand the test of time and the elements. We bought a new construction house and have been having leaking problems ever since (3years later) with our piolet house. Jimmy came out to inspect and was able to spot the problem and provide options for us. He even talked to us about future issues he could spot to get ahead of it. Robert correctly diagnosed the problem causing a long-standing leak on the flat roof on my S. Philly home. His quote was very competitive and addressed the actual problem without "over-building" to address the leak. The work included building-up a section of the roof to re-route water, laying down rubber roofing, installing and installing a new drain pipe and box. After a particularly violent storm in the summer, I noticed a small leak coming from the second floor ceiling of my 100+ year old rowhome. I called Castelli and set up a time for them to come out the next week to assess the roof. They showed up and took a look, and gave me a detailed quote about what they recommended should be done to remedy the issue. The quote was priced per line item, which allowed me to pick and choose what I wanted to have done. Once I scheduled a date, they showed up and performed the work without me having to take a day off of work or be home - and I've had no problems since. I have used Castelli Roofing numerous times over the past few years and have been pleased with the service. I've been meaning to write a review for the past year and today is the day! Marcy, is very friendly and easy to talk to. They have installed a new white granulated rubber roof on one of our Bella Vista buildings. The price was very reasonable and included a 15 year transferable warranty and it was a quick install. It's been 2 years and we have had not leaks! Woo hoo!!! They fixed a rotted exterior soffet and gutters on a trinity house for us. They came out assessed the issue on day and and fixed it within a week. When coming out to assess another leak issue we had in a West Philly building they found we had a structural issue that needed addressing. I'm so glad they found this, it brought light to an issue we didn't realize existed and was the beginning of a very big project for us. After we fixed the structural issues, Robert and crew came out and installed an entire new roof, inner framing and fixed a a drain that went through the middle of the roof. It's been 8 months and no leaks! What a relief. Also on that same building they helped re-secure and seal an existing turret roof that needed to be removed for masonry work to be done below it. Again no leaks! Heads up, I have found that they are very busy (at lease this time of year) so you need to call in advance to set up an appointment. Maybe a week's notice. Called and left three messages within two weeks regarding my leaking roof and my urgent need for services (because I am having major surgery next week and needed the repair done before that time) and never heard back. Their voicemail said they had a high call volume and would get back to you. Called again today for the fourth time in two weeks and their voicemail they are book two weeks out, but if you still want services to leave a message. Castelli just came to fix our roof which they installed only 3 years ago. The protective metal on the side, barge capping, is falling off and we are worried about leaking. Castelli has no interest in remedying that situation, but was interested in performing the preventative maintenance to keep our 15 year warranty that we are at a loss to figure out what it will cover. They charged $745, which was the Angies's List discounted price, for 2 guys to do 40 minutes of work where the only material was flashing cement. They basically overcharged us to remedy something that was not an issue and refused to deal with the issue that does exist. read more

They went to the house the next day to inspect the roof and give me a quote. They offered a reasonably priced alternative to tearing off the whole roof and provided a 10 year guarantee on their work. I reached out to Castelli regarding replacing my entire flat roof in Pennsport. Marcy was very helpful in the phone/email conversations, and they were quick to come out to provide an estimate. The estimate was fair in comparison to others, and they were prompt in providing pricing and answering any questions that I had. When the time came to set up a day for the work, Marcy and the team were flexible and able to jump on it very quickly (under a week from when I asked for ASAP). The day of the work, the crew arrived on time and were quick with their work. They were very polite and kept the area around my property very clean. He even offered to set up a ladder on my back deck to go up on the roof to check out the work! The work looked clean and very professional, although I can't say I know much about roofing. They redid our roof of our 100 year old philly rowhouse and upgraded our downspouts. They were great to work with, came when they said they would, and were nice, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. Their pricing is fair, and middle of the road compared to the estimates we got & for competent roofers who come when they say they do and clean up after themselves, I'd gladly choose them over the cheapest quote. I doubt I will need to call them for roofing problems for a great many years, but if I did - they would be the first I'd call. read more

I found Castelli roofing while looking for a local roofing contractor to repair some drainage and roof capping damage. When I looked on their website I saw that they also did flooring and other interior work which I needed and had been looking for a contractor. I'll make a long story short. I had a ceramic tile kitchen floor installed by these guys as well as some reconstruction in an adjacent laundry room. The work was awesome. They also built a nice wood railing for me. The nice clean cuts on the wood trim around the tile floor gave the job a nice finish. They fixed my roof problem and I had some siding replaced as well. These guys gave me a ton of work for my money. They also went the extra mile for me with some things and you don't normally see that with contractors. Their work was clean. I already told them I'll be calling them when I'm ready for my next project. read more

After the last snow we had a few weeks ago our roof started leaking. We called Castelli and Marcy was very helpful. Yes it did take a few days before they could get out to give us an estimate but Robert was thorough and professional and we were pleased with the estimate. We have also gotten an estimate from another larger company. Both roofing companies told us the exact same thing that our roof was in really bad shape. We chose Castelli because they are a local company and their quote was much lower than the other company. We also just feel better doing business locally. Robert and his crew were out today and they couldn't have been more professional. They finished the job in a matter of hours and we were very pleased with the work.
