I've stayed here a couple of times over the years and love the location and the personalized family friendly service from the staff. Although their cappuccinos had little to be desired, it's no sweat when you can take a morning stroll into any caffe and start your day right with an authentic Italian cappuccino (none of that Starbucks shit) and un bel corneto. The accommodations were impeccably clean and Nedaesha went out of her way anticipating our needs before we knew what they were. We appreciated the cholov yisroel breakfasts which kept us going til dinner and the plentiful shabos meals. Several kosher restaurants are nearby. The location was convenient, half a block from the bus stop which took us to Piazza Venezia (where all our touring started each day) in just 20 minutes. If we return to Rome, we would definitely stay at My Guest Roma again.

The rooms are very spacious and feel very modern with a kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedrooms. This is probably one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed at in Europe including Rome, Venice, London and Barcelona. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly and present 24 hours a day. There is a fully stocked mini bar which is completely free every day, including orange juice, sodas, beer and four bottles of water And yogurt. There's also free Breakfast cereal, Jam , toast, cookies and sometimes potato chips and fruit oranges. This is an amazing deal. Of course, there is a free coffee machine in every room with coffee, free hot tea. I think they could charge a lot more money for what you get and I'm sure when this becomes more popular they probably will change the prices but right now this is one of my favorite places to stay in all of Europe. There's also a complementary breakfast which includes croissants, bread, and a selection of cured meats. I forgot to add the beds are very comfortable and include a softer pillow and a harder pillow depending on what you like. The bathrooms are very clean and modern with a rain shower included. Highly recommended, five stars!

No but really, if you ever get the chance to go to Rome, go now. One of the most beautiful cities in the world, easily. Twas this fine establishment that housed me for a week when I was last there, and it was absolutely wonderful, I'd definitely consider staying here again. The hotel is very high class; polished marble floors, pillars of stone etc, but at the same time when you go out back, it has such a rustic homey Italian feel to it. The rooms themselves are not part of the main hotel building; they're housed in 3 separate buildings round the back, next to a beautiful open garden. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff are so friendly, and incredibly fluent in English, the restaurant is great for any meal of the day, and the week we spent here was amazing! My only complaint about this hotel is the distance from any of Rome's "touristy" places. I definitely wouldn't say this was your traditional Italy tourist hotel because it's not in the city centre, and because it's a bit on the pricey side. I'd maybe try and stay a bit closer to the city centre, but I did like the secluded feel of this hotel, so I'm a bit caught in the middle. This hotel is probably worth the journey into the centre mind you! I'd definitely suggest it if you're ever stuck for hotels in Roma!

Ups: While the guest buildings have a dormitory feel, the room was overall clean and comfortable. The main building is nice and well-maintained. The staff is attentive and speaks multiple languages. The restaurant is quite good and is a worthy option for dinner if you don't feel like eating in the city proper. The breakfast was one of the better hotel breakfasts I've had at the many Italian hotels I've stayed at, both in terms of quality and selection. In addition to typical Italian breakfast foods it also serves American fair, such as scrambled eggs and bacon. Downs: It is far from any tourist sites. To get downtown requires either a bus and a metro ride or a 15 minute walk and a metro ride. After a long day this isn't necessarily the rigamarole you want to undertake and it makes very impractical the possibility of going back to the hotel for any reason in the middle of the day. The rooms do have a dormitory feel and are quite spartan. Also, the shower in my room was the smallest I've ever seen. It was literally almost impossible to even turn around with the door closed and I'm quite thin. The prices, while reasonable, aren't so low that I feel it is worth it not to pay a little more for the convenience of staying in the downtown area.

The morning after we arrived, we walked to the Vatican/Holy See and then walked to the Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, and many great neighborhoods and restaurants. We arrived via the prearranged driver and limo van, which the property offered us. At 40 euro, it represented a great bargain (the cheapest alternative we found was $168 USD), and the driver was professional and helpful. We had a long wait for the manager/owner of the property to show up, which gave us a time to scope out the neighborhood. We finally were able to check-in, get our stuff situated in the room, and go out and walk around. The complaints would be the street noise, and the hardness of the beds - if you're used to hard bedding, and have earplugs, you'll do fine. We also had to leave suddenly, as new tourists were arriving to stay, even though we had indicated to the manager/owner that we needed a place to put our luggage while we toured the coliseum. The breakfast is worth noting, because it is great. The property gives you passes to a local cafe, which had very friendly great service, good coffee, and delicious food. My favorite "perk" of staying here was the printed color map of the area and the recommendations of the property of what to see, do and where to eat. That was really fantastic and we kept that in our pocket everywhere we went. Since Wifi and cell service in and out of buildings was spotty, having a paper map was great. The restaurants in the immediate area of the location are great, and Trastevere is known for having fun and delicious restaurants and is a wonderful neighborhood to explore and enjoy. Overall, this was a solid choice to stay at if you are looking for a great alternative to hotels.

The…read moreone I got to share with my two teenage daughters was three single beds with no padding on the beds so the springs poke your back, no art on the muted yellow walls, broken lights so you can enjoy all the lights on or none, air conditioning that barely gets cool, one dark window with an alley view and the faint smell of someone's old perfume. The electric key keeps flipping so there's no lights essentially unless I want to stand by the door and hold the key in place. This is not a "4 star hotel". It's like a motel. There's no space to walk as in maybe 6" between the bed and the dresser with our suitcases. I asked for help and after three visits to the reception I was offered free breakfast I'm extremely disappointed

The beds are a little hard but still comfortable. The room are well illuminated and quiet. The bathrooms are large and have a good shower/tub. Internet is free but also quite slow. Breakfast is included. The variety is limited and the warm parts re Luke warm. Not quite American standard but typical European breakfast. The restaurant can be rather busy. We had a great stay. The hotel is close to the main rail terminal, a Horst walk from pantheon, colosseum, ... A great oasis for the explorer.

It's a small place - 6 rooms all together - and it feels private and cozy. My partner and I were traveling here with his family (so we stayed in 3 rooms for three nights) and then just the two of us returned for a final night in Rome a week or so later before heading home to the US. Both times, we were greeted like family. The friendly, well-spoken staff here (front reception speaks fantastic English, and we communicated with everyone else with ease as well, with very little Italian in our vocabulary) were some of the most accommodating people I've ever encountered. It really felt like they were friends welcoming us into their home, asking how our day and our lunch was. David was the shining star - he made outstanding lunch and dinner reservations (and recommendations) for the 6 of us for most of our stay in Rome. Definitely take his restaurant suggestions. Everyone, though, was eager to help in every way they could, including helping us navigate public transportation. If the people here and caliber of service they provide really are the cake, the lovely, fresh rooms were the icing. Speaking of cake, breakfast offerings were diverse and delicious - pastries, tarts, cereal, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, sliced meats and cheese, toast, fresh fruit, espresso (Stefania made some of THE best cappuccino we tasted in Rome) and coffee drinks, juice. The eating area was adorable. I would return to Papa Vista in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone in Rome looking for a cool and comfortable place with caring, amiable hosts at the front desk.

I made reservations at the hotel ahead of time, and someone from the hotel emailed me to ask when I would be coming in. I gave them my flight info; they told me it would take us about an hour and a half to get to the hotel and that they'd be ready for us. Everything seemed all set. On our one and only day in Rome, we got to the hotel around 2 pm, ready to put our bag down, take a quick shower, and go exploring. The hotel's main door (street level) was locked. I rang and rang the bell. Nothing. Eventually, a resident of the building showed up, unlocked the door. I asked if we could go in, and he kindly held the door open. I saw the hotel was on the third floor, so we took the elevator up with him. Got to the hotel's door -- locked again. I banged on the door. No answer. There was a phone number for emergencies right outside. We took the number down and left. Thankfully, there's a hotel right across the street. I went in to ask the lady at the reception the awkward question -- could she call our hotel for us? (My phone doesn't work abroad.) She was kind enough to help. She got through to someone, who said she would call the hotel and said someone should be there. We went outside and waited for someone to open the hotel doors. Nope. Nothing. I went back to the kind receptionist when no one seemed to be coming or going, and right as I did, the Emergency Number Lady called back and asked to speak with me. She said someone could be there to let us in at 5:00 pm (reminder: the hotel was expecting us around 1:30-2 pm). I told her there was NO WAY we could do that, that we had one night in Rome and we were ready to shower and go out 45 minutes ago. She must not have listened because she said "maybe you can come back tomorrow." ?!? I told her again that we were in Rome for only ONE DAY and would be checking out the next morning. I made her cancel the reservation at no charge and booked a room at the hotel across the street with the kind receptionist and a much more welcoming staff.
