We stayed 5 days at this hotel. It was perfect for our needs. King sized bed and air conditioning. It might sound weird, but those two things are hard to find in Europe. We couldn't go without air conditioning or a king sized bed. That's what resulted with us staying here. Yeah, it's a bit on the outskirts of Rome. It's a 40 minute drive to The Colosseum, and 35 minutes to The Vatican. But I'm fine with that as long as we are comfortable. Very clean hotel. Decent rooms. We got a balcony, which was lovely. They do offer continental breakfast too in the morning. Overall, it worked for our needs. 10/10 experience read more

The place is very clean and the rooms are spacious. We are a family of 4, they even brought out an additional cushion since one of my kids was sick. The staff was very responsive and ordered a taxi for us at 5 :30 am to get to the airport. They were kind enough to give us a quote before the taxi arrived. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the location is a little out of the way. It's in an area where there are few places to walk to and eat. We arrived mid afternoon, our rooms were ready and clean. We didn't get a chance to check out the gym or restaurant. I would recommend if you are catching a plane and only need a one night stay. Otherwise if you are staying more than one night, look for a place closer to middle of the city so you can walk to the venues. read more

Felt this hotel was pretty decent for a European hotel. Booked two separate rooms. The rooms were fairly decent sized for being in Europe. The bathrooms both had a bidet and toliet. Shower tub was a little high to get into but manageable. Beds were cozy and comfy. The hotel staff we professional and inviting. We're very detailed and helpful on explaining how to get to downtown Rome. They were able to answer all questions we had. Be prepared for at least a 10 min walk to the train and about a 15 min train ride to downtown Rome..honestly not bad. There is a grocery store located near hotel and is within walking distance. Hotel does have small fridge in room. Though hotel also has a very tiny drink and snack shop near the reception area. Breakfast was very good, wide selection of breakfast items including fresh fruits, breads and cheeses. As well as hot american breakfast items. Juices, coffee and expresso was also available. Breakfast location was fairly big and you were able to sit inside or out. We definitely will return to this hotel for the service and the quality! read more

I stayed here for four nights in 2011, redeeming Marriott points for my stay. As a Platinum member of the Marriott rewards program, I was upgraded to a room that faced Vatican City and I could see across the park and down the valley to the Basilica. The property is very close to the Gemelli commuter rail station - around two corners and down two blocks. From the Gemelli station, head to the main road and turn left. Make the first left and go down the hill slightly. The hotel is on your left. The hotel runs a shuttle (or at least they did then) to the main gate of Vatican City. I think that they also pick up from there, but I never tried. There is a paid parking lot across the street - I have no idea how much it costs. The room and the lobby (in 2011) was not up to the usual Courtyard modern look, but it still functioned perfectly well. Quiet (other than some street noise), clean, plenty of hot water and the coffee/tea service worked well. Everyone I interacted with - the check-in clerk, the chambermaid, the shuttle bus driver, and the manager who checked me out when I departed - were all perfectly accommodating and friendly. My complete and total lack of speaking any language other than English was not a handicap. My internet service was free because of my rewards status. Otherwise, I believe it's a paid service in the rooms. There is a Carrefour Market not far away (it's right near the train station) if you want to grab some food and drinks to keep in your room. read more

We didn't have a great check-in experience. But the food was really good, especially the gelato! The Central Park part of the hotel name could be confusing to those unfamiliar with the area, so please know this hotel is not near the main attractions; however, the train is right next door to make a trip into town easier. read more

This hotel is quite nice with a convenient 5 minute walk to a metro station. The bedrooms are spacious with an elegant bathroom. If you're lucky like I was you will get a great view overlooking the Vatican and some pretty sweet sunsets too! The breakfast here is also amazing, the apple juice is a bit different but still great. The only thing bad to say is the guests here are loud and if your room is by the elevator and stairs, you can hear anyone from any floor since the stairs are pretty big. read more

I am a fan of Marriott. They are my preferred hotel chain wherever I travel. I was highly disappointed with this hotel however. We have executive status with Marriott and you usually get club access with the complimentary cocktail hour, complimentary breakfast, snacks and water. Things of that nature. This hotel had NONE of those perks. Also, the location is very isolated. There is nothing in walking distance. No shopping, food, or attractions. The front desk staff is not very customer service oriented. They are super strict about who can be in what room and only 3 people can be in a room at a time. Even though when I booked I enforced them I would have 4 guests staying. The food is nothing to brag about. I had the chicken burger. It was decent but nothing to scream about. I cannot honestly recommend this hotel. 2 stars for the balcony views and the bartender was friendly. read more

Very respectful and helpful staff who took time show me the maps and provide information about the trains. I had to wait for my room to be ready, but I did arrive early and they tried to expedite it. The rooms are clean and smell super awesome when you set foot inside and my balcony view of the city was amazing. Quiet Roman suburb close enough to Ancient Rome and far from the bust Roman streets and police sirens....quaint rooms with all your typical Courtyard amenities and an extremely friendly and competent English speaking staff!! My husband and I stayed here 4 nights before leaving on our 12 night Mediterranean cruise and we enjoyed everything! It was the perfect start to our honeymoon! Despite arriving early, our room was ready and they "upgraded" us to a suite because we were on our honeymoon and I am a Marriott Rewards Gold member. The room was small but had a balcony view on the top floor of St Peters Basilica - sunsets were amazing with this view! Balcony a has a small bistro table with two chairs so it was perfect for mornings and evenings to veg out over a cup of coffee while taking about the days adventures! Bathrooms were small but nice and the bed was a bit hard for my back....but its Europe not the US, so I already had that expectation. There was one English Channel which was the news ( I think it was CNN) but I didn't care because I wasn't there to watch TV. Internet was free for me being a rewards member which allowed me to FaceTime and stay connected. We ate once at the restaurant in the lobby which was okay. My hubby had gnocchi and I had a burger... it was decent, although it was nothing out of this world. Service was decent too despite the typical slow Italian service found in the city. Elevators were slow but the stairs (which was in the middle of the hotel) was extremely wide and air conditioned part of the hotel. Besides, we were in Italy... Elevators are for Americans... Stairs are for Europeans... So we lived the European experience and took the stairs most days! Shuttle service was one of the best amenities! It was 5 euros round trip per person per day and it consistently left every hour on the hour and transported you just outside the Vatican City walls! It was so convenient! Pick up from Vatican back to the hotel always stuck to the schedule and was also very consistent! Both shuttle drivers we had spoke perfect English, gave good recommendations and were extremely pleasant! Would I return!? I definite HECK YES!! read more

Yes. Stay here and save $ for other fun around Rome. Comfortable and nicely appointed with old world and hip modern details; the rooms are great. (We had the Marriott platinum upgrade to the 5th floor balcony room with a view of St. Peter's basilica. Free wifi too.) After a DISMAL stay across town in an off brand joint, this area and this hotel has been a Godsend. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel is comfy. The area is more residential and very quiet at night. No huge sirens all night or traffic. This is definitely the better part of town to stay in, out of the fray. The neighborhood feels safe here. Most of Rome sadly doesn't feel that way to me. Tip: The Gemelli train station is just around the corner. Skip the rip off cab fare and spend 1.50 Euro for a ticket to the Valle Aurelia train station for the red line into Rome. You get a free transfer-so ride all the way into see whatever you want for that low fare! Pick up your ticket at the concierge desk before you walk over, the machines in that station only take cards and the price + your foreign transaction fee isn't worth that. Right across from the train station is a large, well stocked Carrefour supermarket in case you need snacks or drinks for your stay. :) A 3 minute walk for each of these amenities. The hotel does have a shuttle hourly to the center of Rome for 3 euros per person each way if you prefer. We liked riding the train and getting on and off all over the city to explore. It's a great system that's easy to use and navigate. read more

We checked into this hotel on Oct 17. I am a Platinum Elite and even for me they said to upgrade they will charge 100 euros on top of 30000 points that I used for one night stay. The room is small and the AC never worked. We called the housekeeping at 10 Pm and he said he fixed it but it never worked and the room was hot. The breakfast does not start till 6.30 am which is late for mostly American tourists. The restaurant though was good. We had good Chianti wine and Spaghetti with Lamb sauce. Hardware/ room decor is not as new and extensive as the Rome Marriott park hotel. Small bathroom. Has water boiler in room. Friendly staff. My favorite is that most rooms have a nice balcony facing east overlooking the Vatican St. Peter's dome in southeast and the sunrise is unbelievable. Nice to enjoy breakfast or a drink at night too. It is far from town but near a train/ subway station. There is an exclusive shuttle bus, which is safe, on time and usually not crowded, that runs every half hour to the Vatican for 3 euros per trip. Ideal if you go to that area a lot for worship n museum. Drawback is that the last bus departs from Vatican to hotel at 930pm which makes dinners or concerts not possible unless you are prepared to take the taxi back to hotel or risk taking the subway late at night. Good value compared with downtown hotels esp for long term stay. read more

This hotel is typical Marriott property. All the necessities are covered. They do have am hourly shuttle to the center of Rome. The personnel are quite nice and helpful. Their restraunt facilities look for the worse but turn out a very nice product. Breakfast layout is typical and if you must, orders can be placed for items not on the menu. I noticed a trend with the other reviews, that rooms often were not ready at check in. We also experienced an hour wait for at least one of our two rooms to get ready, but otherwise I have no complaints. Free wifi (3 devices per room) and they have great views of St Peters in the distance. The restaurant (Bistro) downstairs has ok pizza but excellent tiramisu! Room service is fast too. Front desk is pretty helpful. Some staff knows more about getting around the city than others but they all try hard to help you out. Take a couple of different maps and use your phone's GPS too to get around the main city. (iPhone apple maps still shows your location even on airplane mode!) The staff will tell you about popular attractions. Breakfast is kind of pricey, but includes a good variety (7 eu for just pastries and coffee and 15 eu for a full American breakfast with eggs and cereal and more). Plan your travel into the center city because this hotel is in a quiet suburb pretty far from places like the colosseum. A metro/train stop is pretty close though. read more

I booked 5 nights here on points and it was completely worth it for me. After a month of staying in all types of hostels, Airbnbs, agriturismos, etc, this place felt downright decadent! Since I had status, I was given a room with a view of St. Peter's which made for some incredible nighttime views. The room was large, comfy, and I slept very well. The food was a little meh but that stems from having spent a month wandering through tiny villages in the middle of Italy and having incredible homemade food for almost nothing. The food here seemed to be Americanized Italian and was my only complaint about the hotel. There are some good hole in the wall places within a 15-20 minute walk. As a bonus there was a smart phone in my room for me to use during my stay. It had unlimited data and international calling. The ability to look at a map while wandering through the city was a savior a few times :) Not sure if this amenity was because of my status or something they do for everyone but it was a nice added touch. read more

Front desk service experience really depends on the associate, and could range from excellent to horrible depending on front staff. Marriott consistency. As a platinum elite I may get a little special treatment like a upgrade view of the Vatican, but there is reason that I have stayed over 1200 nights with the Marriott family. Great service and this property is no exception. Great base of operations when doing Rome if you are ok with the Meteo. Gemelli is only a 5 min walk and gets you everywhere. It is clean, quiet, comfortable and much less expensive than Rome, you can save using their bus service to city center. Trains and subways are very hot, crowded and not a place to go if you are by self; pick pockets also all over the trains. The staff will get you a cab whenever you need one. The north side is very cool and dead quiet . If you have 2 rooms get one facing south east for view of city at night and the light sleepers can use the back room. It is easy to get 8 on a balcony. Beds are hard thou; my sister in law got 2 duvets to put under sheet which helped. If it is not too hot you can breakfast on terrace in am. read more

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon back in 2012. When we walked in, the font desk associate gave off a really bad vibe. He made me feel like we were bothering him. We came to find out that our room was not ready so we were to spend the night in another room. Mind you this is our honeymoon and the only room available was a room with two twin beds. I was angry and the guys attitude was not helping my mood. Finally the supervisor came and chilled me out. We went out to explore and came back to find out that we were going to have to spend the night in that one room. I was very upset, but the supervisor and a new associate who were at the desk calmed me down and reassured me that they were going to make up for it. The next day we came to the hotel and asked if our room was ready, the font desk associate said yes and our stay at the hotel was made very, very pleasant for us afterwards. Once we were in our room everything was great. We had a beautiful view of the Vatican from our balcony. Room service was always on point. Everyone had a smile on their face and I do mean everyone. The shuttle drivers, room service, housekeeping, other associates (not that first guy... that guy was an idiota), they all were well mannered, sweet, and some even helped me out with my Italian. We had free WIFI in our room and an amazing king size bed. House keeping always made the room look very nice. They had a very nice in house restaurant with outstanding food. We did not go to their bar, but it did look fancy and upscale. I would not be against coming back to this Hotel on our return trip to Rome. read more

I love this hotel! Parking is 10€ a day at the lot right across the street. Restaurant was fairly good, and we enjoyed the bar, which had very reasonable prices for a hotel. Great shuttle to the Vatican, which leaves every hour, and only costs 3€ each way. The only downside was the beds were a little hard, but the rest of the hotel made up for that. We will be staying here every time we're in town! read more

We are ending a wonderful 28 day vacation and unfortunately booked this hotel for our last two nights. This hotel is isolated. There is nothing within walking distance, no food, no shopping, nothing to see. The staff except for bartenders lack customer service. The food is bad. They are supposed to serve breakfast until 11:00 they stated shutting it down at 10:25. Acted as if we were bothering them. A couple that came shortly after us was asked to make their plate and take it to the bar. No Good morning or any greeting. TV and hair dryer didn't work. I had to call for repairs. I love Marriott and stay at one when ever I can. This is not how a Marriott operates. Very sad. There are so many better hotels in Rome where you will feel like a guest not an intruder. read more

This hotel is fairly standard for a city-based Marriott Courtyard, and has good-size rooms that are clean. This hotel is a bit out of the way of the main tourist attractions (therefore is priced more reasonably) and the hotel shuttle runs only to and from Vatican City. Costing 3 Euros per person, the shuttle is o.k. for individuals but not necessarily a huge savings for a family of 4. The shuttle does not go to the airport, and we spent about 80 Euros each way for a large van to take the 4 of us and our luggage to the airport (there are cheaper options with less people/luggage). The hotel restaurants are not bad and not great (the wait staff are friendly), but there are some good non-tourist restaurant options within about 3 blocks of walking. The hours for the fitness center are limited and should be open both earlier and later (24 hours) to accommodate travelers busy during the day (as most other Courtyards are). Overall, a good stay at a reasonable price. read more
