The entire staff here from doorman, receptionist, maid service and wait staff at restaurant are exceptional, very friendly, most are fluent in english and very attentive. They have a wonderful reception for each guest, a complementary bottle of wine & fresh fruit at check in, (We were to exhausted from our travels to accept, when the room service concierge knocked on our door shortly after checking in) The luxurious King bed was like lying upon cloud nine and the room is very comfortable, with exquisite modern decor. I love the ceiling cloud-like Michelangelo theme painting overhead, to full length mirrors and marble bathroom with duel head walk in shower. After a tedious 20 hour trip from HNL to FCO, you take refuge in knowing you have been transported into the Italian Vacation Mode! Automatic motion sensor inside your room navigates you with night lights in those night time trips to the bathroom. BONUS TIP: No need for a universal plug adapter if you have USB Cable charging cord! Two USB Plug ins located at each side of the bed. A mini fridge stocked with a variety of to purchase beverages, is a minor inconvenience for budget minded people like me that prefer to purchase my beverages at the local market where they are much cheaper & the selection of my choice. (However, I just set them aside on the shelf above the Coffee Brewer and utilize the space inside Fridge for my own items.) A coffee & or tea brewer is located above the fridge area with a variety of coffee & tea that is complementary. There is a snack drawer with bottle/wine opener and price list for items that are not complementary. (You can Dial 60 for complementary cream or milk) All the toiletries to include, hand soap, shampoo, body wash, conditioner and body lotion are provided. A huge fashionable round lighted mirror with a smaller magnified mirror for make up is mounted above a small modern marble wedged-type sink. The small counter under the sink holds a Kleenex dispenser, electric hair dryer and a small waste container. Thick 100% cotton towels, robes & custom disposable slippers are also included as apart of your relaxing stay. A flat screen tv is also included but in our stay, unneeded. The major inconvenience for me as an American that loves cold ice water, is the lack of an ice machine and water station to fill my trusty water bottle. It is both delicious and filled with friendly and helpful staff. We will be sure to come back on each of our stays in Rome. We would also like to highlight the very knowledgeable concierge Maximo who gave us fabulous ideas, which made our trip extra special.

Vincent, the Front Desk staff was rude and disrespectful. His response clearly showed that he did not appreciate being corrected. A professional response would have been to simply acknowledge the information I provided instead of responding in such a dismissive manner. Another issue was with the black young lady at the Front Desk, who informed us that guests are limited to only one set of towels per day. This means that if a towel is accidentally dropped on the floor or becomes unusable, guests are expected to continue using it. That is both unreasonable and unhygienic. Because of these experiences, we will never stay at this hotel again, nor will we recommend it to anyone. Do not waste your time or money on this hotel in Rome. There are many other reputable hotels in the area that value their guests and provide better customer service.

The staff was very friendly and they went above and beyond to be helpful. This was actually the third hotel that we stayed in while we were in rome. The first two hotels were not what I had hoped for. But I cannot say enough good things about my experience here!

The service desk is staffed 24 hours with helpful, English speaking staff. The check in was fast. The concierge was especially helpful in requesting a car for transport from a reliable and fair company. The suite was clean and had an interesting, 2-story layout (see photo). Breakfast was included at the rooftop bar/restaurant on-site. If you're looking for a 5-star, elegant, "bougie" hotel or a budget, bare-bones, motel, this place is not for you. This hotel sits right in the sweet spot for location, charm and price.

Review - Palazzo Manfredi…read more Warning: safety concerns for families and solo travelers. This was our second stay at the Palazzo Manfredi and, unfortunately, this visit was marred by a serious criminal incident. Upon arrival at the property, we noticed that the neighborhood appeared to have deteriorated. Many buildings were now defaced with graffiti and suspicious-looking groups lingered around the hotel property. The day before the incident, we became concerned that an individual was following us back to the hotel. When we tried to confront him, he quickly got into a car waiting outside the hotel. The next day, shortly after we had exited the hotel, what appeared to be the same person, now accompanied by a larger group, followed us again. Eventually, this group surrounded my son and assaulted him by ripping a necklace off his neck. Minutes later, when we tried to enlist help, my son was accosted by some of his initial assailants who tried to force him into a car. In the ensuing confrontation, and in trying to protect my children, I fell and suffered multiple fractures to my left arm, requiring emergency medical treatment in Rome and later major surgery in the U.S. In the immediate aftermath of my injury, hotel management was difficult to reach in a timely manner and, once we finally were able to connect, offered little logistical or practical support. Before and during the stay, hotel management or staff provided no warnings about crime in the immediate or general area. Thereafter, they refused a refund, stating in substance that off-property incidents were not their responsibility. Given the many choices of lodging in Rome, travelers would be wise to book different properties. In my opinion, the hotel's management practices, lack of security, and the apparent rash of street crime in the general vicinity of the hotel may put guests at risk.

They were able to recommend restaurants nearby for us to grab some dinner as we arrived quite late. The location was excellent as it was very close to the Spanish steps. The included breakfast was outstanding, and the bar was lovely with some great live music. The rooms themselves were all unique and different, and I really appreciated the character and charm of that. The bathrooms were quite large for a large European city like Rome. The bath products were high end. Everyone was really friendly. I would gladly stay here again.

It was a comfortable room that was hindered somewhat by the lack of view outside of our window and the narrow bathroom. Excluding the aforementioned, we enjoyed the room and housekeeping maintaining the cleanliness of our room when we returned each day. Dining at Cafe Romano, the hotel restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner. We dined outdoors for breakfast and had our dinner indoors. We ordered room service on one of our nights. All the food was delicious, but what made it all better was the service. On one night when we returned from one of our excursions, we heard a singer performing at the Cafe Romano Bar. Although we were tired from our day, we thought that it added to the charm of the hotel and the restaurant. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return when the renovations are completed. I mentioned to Alessandro that I would love to get a tour of the hotel and get more information about its history and the opportunity to see other rooms. All of our encounters with the staff were pleasant and we definitely created some great memories while staying at this hotel. It is a great location with a staff that makes us want to return.
