I was looking for a place for my daughter to get the energy out and, with good reviews, headed toward Riverwalk Park. It just so happened to be their Christmas market and fair - with face painting, vendors, special treats and games. My little one could have cared less about the aforementioned happenings. She cares about playgrounds and this park had one of the best we've seen. It was crawling with kids, so even better for entertainment! She played for hours. There was plenty of space, nooks and crannies for kids to run and do their own thing. The equipment all looked in good repair and the park was very clean. Everything is surrounded by mature trees so the playground was shaded during our visit. As lunch approached, we walked over to the water for some calm & relaxation. There are a couple of boat ramps, though I believe I was there at low-tide as one looked inaccessible. There were also a couple of swings to sit and look out over the water. I noted a walking trail as we were leaving and would certainly return to see the rest of the park. I was very impressed with my first visit here.

We had never been here too so before we carried our kayaks out we decided to walk the trail without them first to check the path. It is about a half mile or more to the kayak drop-in. It's a nice path and would have been easier to have a kayak dolly. We carried ours and it was quite a workout but a beautiful walk. We saw lots of other walkers and while on the water it was very cool. Lots of oyster beds and birds. We plan to come back very soon when the water is higher! Great park for just a walk too.

The fact I lived in the area for over a year before checking this place out, severely disappoints me. It's beautiful! The loop has become a frequent running spot for me due to it's perfect one mile length and 90% sun to head ratio, along the way. It's always nice to have a breathe of fresh air, classy water features, and no lack of parking when pulling up to enjoy it all. Pretty much everywhere I've ever lived, the parks would not keep the nets on the soccer goal posts in fear someone would steal them or the weather would destroy them quickly. I am in positive shock each day when I arrive to see the nets still on all the goal posts, sandbags holding the bases, and knots tied tight - just like the pros! These soccer fields (located towards the backside of the park) are a casual, consistent futbol player's dream. I have to give props to the Ogden Parks & Rec for always keeping the premises in top notch condition. The trash cans are constantly emptied. Grass never seems to get anywhere close to out of hand. Tennis courts are swept and schedules are well organized. The goose and duck poops disappear almost as quick as they happened. And there's always someone riding around the area willing to help. The park is open from 8 am to 10 pm, daily. The skate park is only open 8 am to sunset, daily. The staff will lock all entry gates when closed. The dog park is an off-leash, fenced off dirt area, open from 8 am to 10pm. The park is available for hosting large events with an advanced request/payment. One event they've hosted annually here is the Food Truck Rodeo. Looking forward to attending other events in the future.

We hoped to see gators but missed them all. Tons of turtles though. The walking trail is 5 miles around the lake and easy with shaded spots, and various lookout locations with benches to rest or simple zen out. I wish I lived closer so I could walk this look weekly!

This park is known for vagrants and we did see one person approach our car and try the doors. They scurried away quickly when they noticed we saw them. This could be because we have out of state plates but locals say this park is known for crime.

This is an exceedingly safe park that is rarely packed but always has families at the playground and people fishing from the decks. Birdwatchers will love this park. There is free parking for boaters with a load in ramp that has a bathroom close by. There are several great restaurants and sweets shops within walking distance of this park as well as nearby beach supply and souvenirs shops. Please do not use this park solely for beach parking.

Dogs need there space not to be in the middle of an active field with small dogs, ppl, children. That's a bad connection. The trainers bring dogs that have no control of their senses to a family park in an open space. Park department should not allow this. My dad trained German shepherd , Doberman and he trained them indoor until they were well trained and obedience. If they continue to get complains the park department may listen. I don't know why they are not investigating yet. I would hate to have find another park for my pup because of safety.

Unlike others, I think I have found mine. It is a place (a Park) where you would feel in awe listening to "Unchained Melody." Five days a week, I take two family members to a park about a mile and a half from our home. The ride to the park is filled with sparkling eyes, hyperkinetic movements, window smears, a few gasps of air from the slightly lowered back windows, and figments of light-colored hair floating around in our truck. When I enter the main gate, one is taken back by not only the neatness but the simplicity of it all - spacious parking spots, immaculate cement sidewalks, paved pathways, well placed quasi overlooks, kempt rest areas, clean water fountains, attractive gazebos, and strategically located benches. All surrounded by a forest of 30' to 80' pines. This park was thought out well by people who knew what they were doing - "You built it and we will come." Maintenance is always ongoing and efficiently done. No sitting around here - on a morning schedule four wheelers, rakes and truck loads of different types of material are coming and going! As I get out of the truck and walk around the parking lot to the main path through the park, my two friends become more excited and look at me with wonderment. This is their "Disneyworld" and they want to get there as quickly as possible. They love not only the setting but their friends who are waiting for them. My gait hastens and my arms feel the vigor of their excitement. We acknowledge others who walk by us and on occasion a new tender bond is formed by my friends and an unexpected empathic acquaintance (a handsome Greyhound, poodle, labrador, Jack Russell, or German Shepard). The distance from our vehicle and the section of the park that is emboldened in my friends' is about a quarter of a mile; it is covered rather quickly. Our destination is in the northeast section of the parks 42 acres. It was built in 2023 - 2024 and opened in 2025. The dog runs are divided into two sections - large dogs go to the right and small dogs (under 14" at the shoulder) go to the left. There are double gates for each entrance along with a cement pad in between. The park grounds are covered with sand, and the trees are trimmed about 10' from the base. There is a multitude of young trees that have been coppiced. The trees are separated strategically by about 4 to 12 feet to allow for safe running and play. A water fountain and a doggie bag container are at the entrance. The sand base is very accommodating. When it rains, it dries quickly. There are always more people in the large dog 1-acre area. Some people come to the park based on their employment schedule. Sometimes just by the hour, other times it is by the day or days of the week. One woman takes her two dogs from park to park. No one asks or inquiries about others employment status, financial well-being, type of car that they drive, political ideation or health. The interactions here are very neutral, friendly, and unconditional. No ulterior motive, no vanity, no ego yet some self-deprecation. It is extraordinary to find such people and such a place. They are truly an egalitarian group with the common denominator being dogs. At times, an occasional slip of a personal situation or problem comes forth - "Kimberly was married while you were gone... my doctor mentioned Alzheimer's... I was unconscious for a month after the accident... my brother died - he could never get off the drugs." And we learn in a moment of spontaneous but unintentional sharing that some of the men and women are representative of different professions and lifestyles from computer operators to physicians to housewives and househusbands to engineers to accountants to college students to bartenders to public school teachers to university professors to police officers to business executives to stay at home father's and retired guys like me. Nice little (and I stress little!) park in Surf City, NC. There are swings, a slide, and a "camel…read moreback climber" (like a loopy monkey bar/climbing contraption) for the kiddies. There is also a basketball court and small picnic pavilion. The highlight of this spot, however, is clearly the boardwalk that juts out into the bay area. True, the walk is short (920 feet per the website), but it provides quite beautiful views of the bayside, as well as all its inhabitant creatures. From the sides of the boardwalk, you can view tons of fiddler crabs milling about, while from the terminus, it's not rare to see a wide variety of small fish, sand crabs, blue crabs, and mussels. Definitely not a bad spot to check out for some decent views, nature viewing, and "playgrounding".
