I'm reviewing this restaurant with bullet statements 1. The service is extremely slow for these reasons: A. Not enough staff B. A constant turn over in staff C. Only two POS for the servers which are together and not centrally located. D. Only one POS at the bar E. The servers take orders from several tables before visiting the one POS. This causes all the servers to stand around the POS waiting their turn. This also bombards the kitchen. 2. The food is just okay. There isn't one item on the menu that I would call their signature dish. If you have a lot of time to kill and don't mind waiting 30-40 minutes for your next beer, or an hour for your food, then maybe this is the place for you. I'm done with this place. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped by the Castle Pub with his folks when we were in town for a few graduation parties last weekend, and we couldn't have been happier with the service! They do a great job with signage on each table to let guests know that, during certain hours, you need to visit the bar to get a drink. Both the beers on tap and cocktails our party ordered were great, and at just the right price point. The atmosphere is, of course, quirky, but it's unique and large and has plenty of room for large parties - plus, TVs! Definitely a bit of a dive but overall it was clean and the staff cared for each guest. NOTE: Children are not allowed in this location, so don't bring them. Unfortunately we didn't know that until we arrived so we had to tell the folks we planned to meet with to meet us elsewhere a little bit later, but we should have done some research in advance. read more

We will never, ever go back to the Castle Pub. First of all it was dirty. The girl behind the bar making drinks all night touched dirty dishes, delivered food, wipes down the bar and never washed her hands. The menu was written on pieces of paper and taped to the wall behind the bar. We could see inside the kitchen and the food was mostly just warmed up in the microwave. We stayed for one drink and then my husband said, to the girl making drinks, when you have a minute we'll take our tab. She says, very snotty, Domingo, can you help them I don't know what they want. We were literally sitting directly in front of her, one foot away. Then she continues to be rude and condescending. Domingo, the owner according to the radio commercials, who witnessed the whole thing, still made us pay for our 2 beers. Ridiculous. read more

Slow night in town and searching for a fun place to hang. I must say the bartender Brandy was the sweetest, most efficient bartender I have seen for a long time. The decor of the place was fantastic with castle theme. Brandy was engaging and sincere with the guests. Felt like was at a hometown place. When you travel 30 weeks a year that is special. Ate there for supper with a friend, on 6-14-19. The atmosphere is lacking the ambiance, of a real castle theme. It seems more like a mis-match of themes. The ceilings were probably 20 ft tall, and that's where most of the castle themed decorations were located, well out of the reach of any drunk patrons bent on jousting with the armored knights. For an early Friday night, around 5:30 pm there were only 2 other diners there. They had help in the kitchen, and 1 waitress serving customers. And she was very attentive, frequently checking and refilling drinks etc. But you got to wonder what is going on in a Pub & Grill when the cover page of their menu tells you they are way under staffed, and that if there is a delay in service you should go to the bar to be served. But there wasn't any indication that it was going to be a hectic night there. I would think in today's job market that they could hire more staff, but it didn't appear that they were looking for help. Since they warned you on their menu of the lack of staff. The food was ok, the menu had just standard bar food, and not much of it. It did have a several paged drink menu though. I won't be back, there isn't anything drawing me back. The food was just ok, service was good, but they only had 4 diners counting my guest and me. And there is better food in many of eateries in Sioux City. If they decorated more like a castle at eye level, with wait staff dressed like busty wenches, that spoke with a medieval accent, maybe they would have more customers? read more

I don't love the place, nor do I hate the place. The decor is confusing. A grandfather clock with beer signs and a showcase of antiques. The waitress we had knew nothing about beer...it was almost embarrassing for her. Kind of dark but the bathrooms are nice. They provide lotions and body sprays and stuff. Prices are ok. I can get way better prices at some 'dive bars' around town. Getting in and out of there is weird since they're located on a funky road. Have had their food; typical bar food. Really only go 1-2 times a year. read more

The egg rolls were excellent but the service was awful. I'm pretty sure our waitress started tonight with no training. The bartender refused to acknowledge anyone beyond the bar. I think the owner was there and he was trying mingle with customers and welcome them but he's going to have to get a seasoned staff to get up and running successfully. Good luck. Totally disappointed. The Castle used to be an up-and-coming place. The food was amazing a few years back in the wait staff had a drink in your hand before your other one was gone. I cannot say the same for our experience tonight. We were looking for a traditional supreme pizza and in return could only have three toppings. The pizza crust was soggy like a red Baron and every time we needed something we had to go to the bar. I pray this isn't the ending but just a low spot. read more

Stopped here because of the toy store next door. Been wondering about this place for a while. Immediate impression: meh. The inside could use a lot of work. It has potential, but lacks anything special. Service was okay. We stopped at 1700 on a Monday night, so it wasn't too busy. I really do feel comfortable here. :) It's a big place, but "homey". Went last night to the Beatles Night. There was a really good live band with plenty of room to dance. The place was full! The prices were really good. The Food was excellent!!! It wasn't just the same ole stuff; they had a diverse menu and everyone at our table loved their food! I waited 40 minutes for 1 beer sitting at the bar, yet the gentlemen next to me on both sides were served 3 times and put in a order for food. While waiting for my 1 barely cold beer I asked for a game to be put on and suggested the 2 channels that are listed to have it playing. The bartender tried 1 channel then ignored my request to try the other and tried a channel that I let her know does not play the sport I asked for. The channel was showing a fishing show which isn't even close to my request then walked away to continue ignoring me. I asked for my bill nicely and left 200% unsatisfied. I realize this place may not be for everyone, but it's the perfect place for my man and I. We love to come to this low key pub for beers and darts on any night of the week. If I remember correctly the pizza her was pretty darn good too. read more

Although we luv that the castle pub is conveniently located right down the hill from our home! We enjoy visiting with the owners Domingo and Andre. Also the food is not your average pub food! The chef is wonderful ! The menu has homemade Mexican items ( try Domingo's authentic tacos!) burgers, specialty sandwiches, and the pasta's are one of my favorites!! YUM! YUM! The waitresses are all wonderful, but they always seem to be understaffed. I've talked to a few of them and from what I hear, their boss is very rude. I've never had the same waitress because most of them quit. Food is delicious. Probably won't be coming back . read more
