I don't enjoy writing poor reviews but there are things people should know about this business before working with them. I am a licensed contractor and my experience was NOT good nor will I use them again. The quick shot: Castle Vision is not a manufacturer or builder, they are not licensed contractors, they do not always refer licensed installers, they design the layout, buy the units and deliver them to the jobsite. The product did not have full-extension sliders, follow-up only happened once they felt threatened. Price was misleading because they don't include installation. When I called them, they assured me that they both sell and install cabinets (which is why I expected the price to include installation), but this is not true! They are not licensed contractors and while they will quote you a price for installation, they will have you pay the installer separately. It is outlined in their contract but after an hour of decisions you just want to pull the trigger, sign the papers and get it done; only later did I realize install was not included and even though they quoted me a price, an installer would be dispatched...something is very wrong with this set-up. They scheduled the install but the guy came & went without any communication with me, I was never given his name or contact info. Even after I told the office that I'd like to know when he was coming/going, he continued to just show-up at random times which occasionally led me to believe a trespasser was on my property. The installer was NOT licensed which also means no insurance or bond. The office later told me he was licensed but the truth is the installer has 'a friend' and claims he can work under his license but no paperwork is signed with the installer at any point and he's likely taking your money under the table. The bottom line is that contracting work is being done and nobody is licensed, this is NOT legal... They told me the hardware featured full-extension sliders but they did not. To their credit, they had the hardware changed-out but had I not checked, it would not have been caught. The installers also installed some cabinets on the wrong wall and I had to push to get the wall repaired/painted. I like Jason and the office staff was very nice but on the whole, something isn't entirely right about this operation. Admittedly, I'm tainted because as a contractor I'm held 100% accountable and need to be PERFECT for all my customers so when the price suddenly jumped (because it didn't include installation) and communication was bad along with hardware not being what I was told, it left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I was having a difficult time finding cabinets, because most were made in China and had harmful materials and formaldehyde. My contractor told me about Castle Vision Cabinetry, a vendor that another one of his clients was using and was very impressed with. Upon further research, their materials are CARB compliant (California Air Resource Board), which has much higher standards for formaldehyde levels. Jason came to my house and even helped make suggestions on how I could reconfigure the layout. I ended up ordering kitchen cabinets and a custom vanity for my primary bathroom, and all were customizable to the space. Jason was incredibly thorough and helpful, as this was an overwhelming project for me. I have also heard positive things about his installer. Full disclosure: Jay from Castle Vision is the brother-in-law of a close friend of ours. My wife and I bought a house last year. The house had a lot of potential but also needed a ton of work, especially the kitchen and the master bathroom (both of which were really poor uses of space). We ended up gutting and fully renovating both areas, and given the amount of money that costs we really wanted to make sure we got it right. Jay offered to help my wife and I design the kitchen and bathroom for our new house. Neither of us really had any idea what we were doing - we knew we wanted as open a kitchen as we could get in the space we had, and a really nice shower, but that was about it. Jay's work was absolutely spectacular. Our kitchen is open and totally stunning, and it's all because of the work he did. Not only was the design spectacular, but he worked closely with our contractor to make sure everything was done correctly, helped us pick out and order cabinets, worked with us to acquire the granite for our countertops at the best possible price and brought in someone to install them, and generally kept on top of things every step of the way. We had originally just meant to have him do the design and nothing else, but he went above and beyond any expectations we had. Everyone who has visited our new house compliments the kitchen. If anything, the bathroom is even better. Jay helped us design one of the nicest bathrooms I've ever been in, and we actually get to have it as our own! We have a double shower with rain showerheads that is basically everything I ever wanted in a shower, a gorgeous double sink with a makeup area for my wife, a great tub, some beautiful splash tiles... the whole thing is just amazing. One of the best things about doing a lot of renovations on our house was the fact that we really got to make it our own. We are incredibly excited to be living here, and I really think we wouldn't be anywhere near as happy as we are with how things turned out if Jay hadn't been involved. I will be recommending him personally to anyone I know who needs a kitchen or bathroom designed, and I can't imagine a better person to work with. read more

I went to Castle Vision Cabinetry approx 8/14 looking for a vanity for my master bath. Spoke to Jason and we picked out the style and color of cabinet. He told us it takes about 6-8 weeks to be delivered. Gave him the measurements of the cabinet and our contact info and he said he would email us the price. I called the next day and said I hadn't received an email with the price. He told me there were several customers ahead of me and he would try to get the price to me the next day. On 8/20 we called again about the quote and were told by the woman that answered the phone that it takes 7-10 days to get a quote. **After posting this review Jason reached out to me by sending me a screen shot of an email he said he sent to me on 8/14 along with an apology. However, I never received an email from him. I have checked my inbox, trash and junk and the only email I received from him was today 9/10. I appreciate Jason taking the time to reach out, apologize and verbalize his confusion regarding my not receiving his email. read more

The cabinetry Castle Vision installed in our kitchen is the nicest furniture in our house. After reviewing a multitude of styles and wood types, we examined several physical samples and choose solid wood doors with natural knots. The finish is satin smooth, and the doors and drawers glide open and shut effortlessly and silently. At first I thought that we could not afford such luxury, but owner-designer, Jay Castillo, worked within our budget and even figured out how to add some extra details such as glass front accent doors and a wine rack. Jay's design optimizes every inch of storage space, so now we actually have empty cabinets. He listened to our priorities, noting how we use our kitchen, and made sure to create a work space customized for us. We work together in our new kitchen without getting in each other's way. He beautifully integrated an awkward change in ceiling height and an existing hand-crafted breakfast bar that I insisted had to be part of our design. Two months after Jay and his partner Justin installed my new cabinets, I received a gift of a new refrigerator. We thought it would slide into the space Jay customized for my old refrigerator, but it was 1 3/4" bigger. We hired Castle Vision to return and reconfigure the space to accommodate the new appliance, and now it fits perfectly -- even though they wound up with only 1/16" of clearance at one edge. Their craftsmanship is amazing. You can't even tell that the space was remodeled. Although the semi-custom cabinets take a few weeks to arrive from the manufacturer because they are made to order, and they cost a bit more than ready-to-install units, the extra time and money are more than worth the final, beautiful result since we spend most of our time in our kitchen. read more
