Clearly, their goal is nothing but happiness for the pets that come in and out, and I was awed by them. I just knew this was the right place to be. This is not a large, spacious clinic with a fancy light-filled waiting area. No, this is a small clinic filled with a cat tree, plants and a few chairs. I have not been inside the lobby area because since COVID everything is car side. I can peak through the windows for a glimpse inside the clinic. It is located inside a forgotten strip mall and there is plenty of space for parking. All the vets I have met... Dr. Kissinger and Dr. Cason have been so nice and personable. They genuinely seem to care for your baby. They are never in a hurry and they explain things in common language. They are friendly, professional and human. Both vets have a deep love for what they do and for animals. You can just sense it. The techs are also very friendly and knowledgeable. They are also patient because I have a million questions and I have never received the eye-roll or the shrug from them. If they do not have an answer, they find one and call you. They have been excellent at communicating with me by phone and email. The prices on services and products seem to be competitive and reasonable. One of the first things this woman blurted out to 2 young kids in their 20's was "I can see some buildup on her teeth so she'll need a cleaning. That runs around $600 for anesthesia" and a list of other things in a teeth cleaning I cannot remember at this time. My dog is only three years old it's not like she's old with a huge amount of tartar buildup. There was no "I recommend this chew" or "try brushing with this toothpaste" and this was on top of the $300 some bill for her shots and other extra things that she was recommending that day. My pup requires care and i understand that will cost money but to hit us with a total of $900 in expenses in the first 5-10 minutes of our appointment left a bad taste in our mouth. I'm reading other reviews that sound like I am not the first person to feel as if they are just trying to get as much money as they can out of their patients. Why do I have to argue with them EVERY visit about taking my dog(s) back into another back room without me, to do simple things like a blood draw or nail trim? We are already in a private room, what is it that you are doing that you don't want me to see... this policy I find intolerable. One of my dogs is mortified without me in the room. When I brought my dogs in for their annual heartworm tests, they tried to sell me multiple packages of Heartgard seemed unnecessary since I already had some at home, and I wasn't sure I wanted to purchase from them. I added the heartguard to an existing retailer online order I already had going, and was confused when the retailer said my vet would not approve it? Wakarusa called and said You know you can buy that from us, I said I already had an existing order that I am adding it to from an online retailer. They told me they would not approve it since I am not buying it from them unless I pay them an additional $10! After I have spent thousands there! This experience left me feeling exploited, especially after consistent patronage. They must make a lot of money from Heartguard or get some kind of kickback. I like to have a choice as to where I purchase from without paying a ransom. It feels a bit like a used car sales experience.

What impressed my wife and me most was the fact that this particular veterinarian was MUCH more concerned about the well-being of our dog, rather than making money for herself, which we would have gladly paid her for many repeated visits for her to identify and treat our dog's significant health issues. But instead of making money, she was MUCH more concerned about the health of our dog, and she referred us to two viable animal clinics that have the type of internist that can properly address our dog's needs. There are always discounts and rebates on medicine. I use the Care Credit Card so the staff always makes sure I get the best rate. Eudora Animal Hospital is primarily a large animal hospital. When I tried explaining my pet's diet change, she didn't know that the type of food my pet was on even existed, when they literally sell the food at their clinic. She's constantly invalidating my concerns when explaining the behavior change in my pet, as if she knows them personally. My animal has never liked the vet, but he HATES this veterinary assistant. I'm not sure how she's had her job for 7 years, but it's no wonder she's just an assistant. All the other vets are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
