Horrible service on Memorial Day. The dark haired heavy set waitress seemed "bored" that she had to wait on us. The dog at the bar with its paws laying on the bar was gross. People eat at the bar. Our waitress didn't ring in all of our drinks, couldn't bother to check on us and if it were up to me would have received $0 for a tip. She seemed to be more excited about the dog than the people she had to wait on. If you don't like your job, please find another occupation. The food was decent, but knowing they allow dogs in a place where food is served, not sure I would go back. The tables outside were disgusting and had dog hair all over one of them. Might be okay for some, but service was so bad I don't know if I want to eat there again. read more

This place is so amazing! Lots of fun to be had by all! There is live entertainment on a huge patio and also plenty of room for you and a big group inside. Burgers are delicious and specials are even better! There is plenty of beers on tap and heavy Poured cocktails! Come for dinner or just for cocktails. You can also get off the ferry and come have a great time if you're not ready for your evening to end. The servers are so friendly and work so hard. Kim was absolutely incredible! Oh for goodness sakes if you're a local and haven't been here you live under a rock. It's a tourist spot too being by Miller's Ferry. The wings we order often for take out during football season. My husband and I visited Port Clinton and the islands for a little post anniversary weekend getaway. We were looking for a late lunch and the packed parking lot drew us to the Catawba. It's always a good sign when the parking lot is full of local license plates. We love local hangouts and this one definitely didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was "local charming". The place was filled with laughter and chatter. Our sever was charming. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the Clam Chowder and the chicken tenders were excellent. read more

I've been to over 30 bars around the area and this is by far the worse. So there's 6 ppl in the bar and 2 workers. Everyone at the bar gets a shot but me. They even yelled Hooch o clock and didn't serve me. It was one of the oddest things I've witnessed. The bartender was absolutely terrible spending more time gossiping and watching wheel of fortune on the customer side of bar. Then the bill came, 10$ for 2 bullshit aluminum bottles of coors light. Really? You greedy scumbags. I know it's a tourist trap but it's winter time. Maybe treat locals better. read more

This is a great place to take your child for a program on why not to drink alcohol. The amount of absolutely trashed adults trying to relive their highscool days by getting blacked out is concerning. Definitely not a place to unwind and watch a game but definitely is a place where you have a chance to catch an STD just from standing too close to 2 overindulged 50 year olds. Also shoutout to the bartender that did not wash his hands after using the bathroom. Only gave 2 stars because I happen to see a shooting star while sitting on the outside patio. read more

But, compared to other options on the "Island" will stick with local not inflated for the up and coming wealthy who are willing to dish out $15 for a boring tasteless burger as has been described by neighbors. Ordered hot garlic Parmesan wings and 1/2# perch basket. Portions are great. Perch and fries cooked to perfection with a side of coleslaw (not homemade) lemons and vinegar by request. Wings perfectly cooked and sauced, with side of celery & blue cheese. Even busy on a Sunday evening. Service is that of a busy bar. The "Food Beer". This is where the locals go to eat, drink and be merry! It's a quaint, cozy bar with an atmosphere similar to Cheers. My friends and I were promptly greeted by the very bubbly brunette barmaid/hostess. Beers were delivered quickly, as was the food. I ordered the house nachos with just cheese, no meat. They arrived with all the fixins in a bowl with a fork, which was interesting. The nachos were really tasty, but became a bit difficult to eat as the cheese consolidated into one big massive clump in the bowl. My hubby got the black and blue burger with house fries. Both were tasty. I don't understand the mentality of people who leave negative reviews for this place. What the hell do you expect??? It's a LOCAL bar with typical BAR FOOD...(except for the waaaay overpriced Lake Erie perch.) I feel they do a nice job for the type of place it is. I had a pleasant experience, so did my friends. In conclusion, if patrons are seeking a higher class atmosphere, want artisan entrees with a huge wine list...then utilize Yelp and go elsewhere! read more

BEER FOOD My experience here was during lunch, I expect it to be a bit more rowdy at night do to the proximity to the fairies from Put-In-Bay. The service was supper friendly and funny. Normally I like dumpy bars but this place sucks. Sat at the outdoor bar. Liquor shelf behind bar was falling off and the random exercise bike is a nice touch. Chair had cobwebs all over em. Takes 5 seconds to wipe a chair down. 3.50 for a CAN of Miller, you must be smoking crack. I would love to know where all the money they make off people goes....Its definitely not back into the bar. Stacie the owner/bar tender is one of the rudest servers I've ever encountered ... Arrogant is the word I'm searching for because there is an endless supply of tourists that come and go on the Island. So no need to care about how they treat people. This woman straight up got in my face with attitude a mile long complaining that when I motioned to her that I was being rude .... No eye contact or friendly nod that she saw me so I motioned once because I didn't think she was aware of me. After a few attempts to cool her off didn't work and she droned on I lost my cool and reflected back to her what I was hearing. Came on a Tuesday night. Expensive well drinks, pool table didn't work, smelled like urine. Wouldn't come back.

I'll admit that the boneless wings were exactly like BW3's and the pizza was tasty too. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall place complete with a pool table, Golden Tee, KENO, a jukebox, an outdoor patio and live entertainment. Locals were friendly and it was a decent place to chill but then again it's the only place to chill. Worth a looksee if you're staying close by. read more

Thirsty Thursday was Awesome!! Amazing entertainment (people watching, including/Especially the staff) after the Kid Rock show. As if the (8) sheriff's out back for over 40 minutes 'breaking up a fight' wasn't enough fun to watch, the woman in the pink dress sitting at the bar generously serving Bud Light drafts for everyone was the Best. Ordered a$30 perch dinner. Received what looked and tasted like Gortons frozen fish. When we sent it back the noticeably drunk owner was extremely rude. The manager was actually yelling at him for his actions. Horrible food and less than acceptable behavior by a restaurant owner. Will never return. read more

Worst experience Ive had here in Port Clinton area. It started out ok with an outside table and good music. But thats where it all stopped. The Owner was walking around the bar and patio (obviously drunk) swearing and slurring words. He brought us menus but no one ever came to take our order. We had to track someone down. My wife and I decided to share a burger. We ordered the bacon pepper jack burger with fries. When it finally arrived a half hour later we realized it had Jalapenos on and set our mouths on fire. When we said something about it we were told "it was on the description". So we saw "Japs" listed in the description but we really didnt think about it being dark and busy. The problem was how the drunk owner and one of the waitressed handled our issue. There was absolutely no concern to make us happy patrons. This place is crap. The OWNER is so drunk he cant function. The bar maid is rude and doesn't care. Our burger order took forever and when it did show up it was wrong. We complained and was told deal with it. Owner was throwing "F-bombs" left and right.. Did i mention he was so drunk he didn't know what was even going on. They would NOT fix our order. The food here is absolutely fabulous. They have the best wings in the area. Which is why we put up the the extremely bad service. However, we went there the other night after a very hot, very long day, willing to put up with the heat for the good food, and when I went inside to let them know we were there and wanted food (you always have to go in and tell them, they never have a decent server on the patio and when they do she is usually too busy visiting with the bar patrons to care that you are there for food) the bartender informed me that there was no servous on the patio that night. Just as he said so, I saw the "manager" a cute, older blonde, drinking a beer with the customers and then flitting around the bar chatting it up with people at the tables. We were not the only ones outside wanting service, there were 3 other couples that left at the same time we did after waiting for some time for someone to come out for their order. This place could be extremely busy, but I'm not so sure we will go back after this experience. Good food is hard to find around here (we live here) but lack of servous here has gone to a new level.. Note to the very nice owner: Get some real staff!!! read more
