This place is a must for people watching in Put-In-Bay. Sand Bar is a swim up bar out back with cornhole out front in a little sandy area and a full service restaurant as well. It's huge. If you're looking to party in the day time or people watch; the pool was awesome. Grab a lounge chair or jump right into the mess and you're transported to a Jersey Shore-esque atmosphere (but I'm told less Jersey Shore than some of the other swim up bars that Put In Bay offers). When we went on Sunday at 3pm, the party was going full swing and the DJ was great. There was no cover charge on Sunday and my friends reported the drinks as strong and reasonably priced. We stayed there for a few hours, danced in the pool, did plenty of people watching and enjoyed the escape from reality. I'd recommend Sand Bar in Put In Bay if you're looking for the best swim up bar and a fantastic DJ. Don't miss out! read more

Sand Bar (Adventure Bay) is where my friends and I like to relax when we're spending a holiday weekend on PIB. The crowd tends to be less Jersey Shore than the other pool bars on the island. In addition to less pee in the pool, Sand Bar offers some volley ball action, cornhole, and they even have an indoor arcade for the youngsters. The chairs fill up quick by the afternoon, so if you want a primo spot...best come early. read more

If you go here tip cash! I made 3 orders with tips on each one ($1) I waited 5days for the tips to be charged to my account (I went the 20th and the tips were charged the 25th) and someone took out $20 when it was just a $1 tip for $8 drink! I was charged $28! The other 2 orders were charged correctly. I called the bar at 11am the man seemed Nice he said he'd look in to it and send my a photo of when he did the refunded of $19 via text in an hour but I didn't get a message at all. Will have to call again in the morning sadly. Other then that it is a fun place to be, unwind and the staff was very nice but be safe just use cash. read more

This is the most beautiful place. They have this amazing pool with palm trees - it is like a resort. They did a great job I can't say enough about that. There is no cover charge for adults. and I think there was a 10$ charge for under 21. People were swimming and drinking and enjoying themselves. We went at about noon on a Sunday. It was not crowded. Most of the people were older 30s and up, even 60s. I am 36. WHY TWO STARS???? Honestly? They were playing this rap music like we were at the club at noon on a sunday. The place had maybe 14 people there! There were people with gray hair! I'm not saying play Jimmy Buffet, but maybe think about what time it is or whos there and play something more... Love this place. One of my fave bars in PIB. It has something for everyone: sand volleyball, a pool, swings, comfy chairs around the bar and of course a typical and pool bar. I will be coming back next month because I love the time I have there. read more

This place was awesome! Most of the other bars near downtown were so packed you couldn't even move in the water! It looked gross. This bar was probably the biggest on the island and featured a swim-up bar, water volleyball, sand volleyball, basketball in the pool, cornhole, a second cool bar, and a DJ. We got there early and hardly anyone was there. It got much busier as the day went on, but nothing compared to the other ones! We ended up staying all day because we went to get lunch and saw how busy everyone else was. Great service too. read more

The other spot that is a little more low key but just as fun is Sand Bar, they have a huge swim up bar and poll with water volleyball, a sandy volleyball court, cornhole, tiki bar, and full arcade. Plenty to do for all ages. They do allow kids in there during the day and they charge for the kidos since they are not drinking. I believe it is a $5-$10 cover. The only down side to this place is the DJ....they need someone in there with real equipment and people skills. I like that they do a throwback 90's tribute but it is good to mix it up. The drinks are great but bring cash, this goes for most PIB bars. The bartenders are not so organized when giving you your check.....and I am putting this nicely. Even with that I still give the place a 4 but it is something they should consider when training their bartenders. read more

Not family friendly. Music at the dirty, cloudy pool so loud you can't hear anyone without yelling. Unsafe - if a kid gets in trouble in the pool you couldn't hear them. When I asked them to turn the music they refused. Must be near the sewage treatment facility for the island. read more

This was the best pool bar if you want somewhere that is fun, relaxing, and not overly crowded. You actually had room to move around and take a dip while drinking, unlike some of the other swim-up bars. It's also the only pool bar with a volleyball net. We had a game of 5-on-5 going for a good half hour or longer. The people were definitely more on the respectful/respectable side here if you get my point. Great times. read more

I am surprised there are not more reviews for this place! I have only been to PIB twice but did not realize this place existed until this summer, on my second trip. I wish someone had told me about it! I remember driving by it last summer but from the road, I could not tell if it was open. Very hard to see the pool from the road so I always assumed it was just a go kart track that was not very popular. Little did I know it was an outdoor swim up pool bar with lots of outdoor games! We only came to this place twice this summer on our trip and one of those times it rained so our visit got cut short due to weather. The mixed drinks at the bar are very good, however you will pay the price! Very pricey here. I guess it is to compensate the fact that adults get in for free... We took some Mimi coupons with us but were told they were not necessary for adults and the coupons only got children in for free. It did not state that on the coupon and since we do not have kids, we did not make use of the coupons. Seems like such a cool place, I kind of wish kids were not allowed in at all on the weekdays... But I'm sure that's how it is on the weekends and I was only there during the week so there were kids and families in the pool. I already had experienced having kids in the pool across the street at the PIB Resort (where we were staying in a villa) so it would have been nice for a change of pace to not allow kids in at all. The Sandbar's pool was much bigger than our resort, which was a plus, but we stayed at our pool most of the time since we had a hot tub and much cheaper drinks over there. Seems like the Sandbar is probably the place to be with young adults on the weekend. read more

I come to PIB all the time and never knew this place existed until I was looking something up and it popped up a picture in Trip Advisor. I was like, where is this? I have never gone there because my kids prefer to go cart on Catawba at monsoon lagoon. I thought this place was all arcade like. Out back is not for kids. Maybe during the week days. But the pool is large. Lots of seating. Corn hole. Many! Sand volley ball. Large Jenga. Bar. Swim up bar too. Hopping on a Sunday afternoon. read more
