Incredible Sandusky Tradition This is the place you go to catch up. Their food is one of the best values downtown and they even have menu items for vegetarian/vegan folks. Typically good food, ok prices, and excellent service. Not yesterday... Waitress refused to advise table next ours to stop vaping. Stated they know its against the law, but they choose not to enforce it. Over nine months of visits this was the first I've seen it indoors. Changed table much further away. Always fun at an Irish pub. Daly's has some good drinks. The food is nothing at all special. It's just mostly all fried. Very meaty stuff. I wasn't feeling anything for the food menu. It was a whole lot of meaty stuff. This is typical of an Irish pub where they have sauerkraut balls and stuff like that. My companion wasn't hungry either and just wanted to get tipsy. The drink menu was good since anything's good with Irish whiskey. I had their Jameson green tea shot. This was some sweet tasting green tea. It's $5 all day every day. This was a pretty good deal for how strong it was. I could have a drink here again. It's one of the few Irish pubs around here. Most of the bars seem to have a tropical kind of theme. read more

I don't enjoy eating my lunch with a dog sitting on a chair at the table beside me as our waitress (anf other employees) petting and hand feed the dog cheese then serve us our food or have the man at the bar with his dog in his lap up against the bar that people eat at. Stopped here for lunch while touring the town. Disappointed. Waited about 5 minutes for drink order. Food arrived quick, but no one checked on us till we were almost done. Was hoping they'd come soon after food arrived so I could ask if they had any napkins... found them myself. After eating waited too long to check out and had to go to the bar to pay on our way out. Entry doors were filthy. First and last impression coming through doors will stick with us. So many new places to try out, next time we visit. I was back in Sandusky visiting my parents and craving Lake Erie perch. There are some great places to get fresh perch during the summer. However, it's hard to find perch in the winter that doesn't taste frozen. I was so happy with the Perch Sandwich here. It tasted very fresh. The portions are very generous. The Jet Express we tried to board was booked, so we thought to just have lunch in downtown Sandusky while we waited for the next one. This was a mistake. It was the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and every restaurant owner decided to give their staff the weekend off. We stopped into two different restaurants and were met with poor attitudes, snide stressed waitresses and no clean tables. We walked into Daly's and saw they were just as busy with about as little help. What prompted me to write this review was the service we received from Tabitha. OHMIGOSH this poor girl! Her and the staff were running their tails off serving the restaurant and the entire time she held it together. She got us refills and checked in and did everything in a pretty timely fashion regardless of their staffing issues. My reuben sandwich was pretty solid and the price was average. I liked the open bar in the middle and thought it could be a good place to hang out if we weren't so rushed. But serious absolute kudos to Tabitha for being so awesome and not biting anyones head off. I know they had to call in some extra help and that's never fun. My parents, husband, and I stopped in at Dalys on a Saturday summer night. I ordered the pretzels and my parents ordered the macaroni and cheese bites. The pretzels were good, but the macaroni and cheese bites left something to be desired. For dinner, my mom and I both ordered the ribs, hubby ordered the meatloaf, and dad ordered the perch. The dinners were by far better than the starters. Portions were generous and service was good. So, why a lower rating? Two things. 1. Improve starters and sides. Boring underwhelming salad and macaroni and cheese bites. 2. Ways too loud on the music. It was difficult to talk to my family and waitress. All in all, I'd probably choose somewhere else to go, but I wouldn't turn down a trip if someone asked. read more

Daly's is hit or miss for me. Seems like it's always either too dead or too busy. But like many other spots around Sandusky, go with a fun enough group of friends and it really doesn't matter. I don't really order food here but they offer a pretty decent beer selection and the service is usually really good. Basically, don't go for the scheduled entertainment. Plan on bringing your own and you'll have a good time. Patio is the place to be so if you get a table, don't give it up. But I think they still close it down early thanks to the tenants across the street making noise complaints. read more

We felt lucky to find this place when we were unexpectedly delayed in the area. We liked the selection of Great Lakes brews on tap, and our steak quesadilla was really better than the usual, especially since we were asked how we wanted our steak cooked! The interior is handsome - an old corner bar with big windows and original woodwork. Comfortable, spacious. Our waiter, William, was fun. My only complaint is the music - too loud, and too random (jukebox). It was too hot for the patio the night we were there, unfortunately. Where to start. Did not get greeted at the door, bartender just looked at us. After 10 minutes, another associate finally told us it's open seating. We asked if we could sit outside, to which, she replied "she won't steal a table for us", she probably thought that would upset us colored folk. A server on our way outside to check seating, without hesitation, says we can't seat "them" out here. I'm not 100% sure but I'm going to take a wild guess and say it might have been because we're colored. That was enough for us to walk out of there, it also helped that the "hostess" decided to walk away after.
