We hired Catering by Christine for our wedding on 7/19/25 at Penfield Pavilion. From the very beginning, Pete was amazing. He invited me, my husband, and my wedding coordinator to a tasting. After the first couple of dishes came out, we were in! From the presentation of the food to the tasting, just spectacular. We chose to have stations at our wedding rather than a "sit-down" plated dinner because we had both adults and children. Everyone RAVED about the food, and the passed hors d'oeuvres were a big hit. The presentation was fun, and all of the food was spectacular. We also opted to have an ice cream bar rather than a formal wedding cake, and everyone LOVED that, especially the little ones. Pete actually assigned one of his staff members to tend directly to the bridal party, and she was phenomenal. She was so friendly and attentive to us, and we were so appreciative. We also had Catering by Christine do our full bar, and that too was just over the top. We even had him do a signature cocktail that we always enjoy in the summer -- he had never heard of it, and he did an amazing job with that as well. You know you had the best wedding when you had the best food and bar (Catering by Christine), band (The Zoo), venue (Penfield Pavilion), and wedding coordinator (Colleen Horstman - Coll-It-Entertaining). Catering By Christine went ABOVE and BEYOND for our wedding. We requested a custom menu to celebrate our Peruvian & Italian heritage. We provided family recipes to the team both for the hors d'oeuvres and the entrées. Stole $8000.00 We hired Catering by Christine to cater our wedding of about 150 people on May 9, 2020. At that time weddings of that size were not allowed by the state so we postponed till September 20, 2020. We paid our deposit to hold the original date then also gave an extra payment once we moved the wedding to September. Come September the state was only allowing small outdoor weddings and we couldn't use our venue at Penfield Pavillion in Fairfield. So when Catering by Christine gave us a price of almost $12,000.00 for the backyard wedding we realized we won't be able to afford them twice. Pete Biondi and I agreed that a later date the following year is fine. Fast forward to January we realized we don't have the money for another party so we called to get a refund. Catering by Christine and Pete Biondi did not immediately respond to our calls. Once Pete finally did pick up he said "nobody got a refund from me, nobody canceled". I explained not being able to do a big celebration because of the money and we found out my wife was pregnant. Pete responded with "I DID NOT CREATE THE VIRUS". So now they stole our deposit and our extra payment and will not give any of it back and won't respond to and text messages, emails or hand written letters. Don't use this company. One of a client(I'm a IT consultant) I work with, in Brookfield area, had hired 'Catering by Christine' to provide a comprehensive lunch for the entire team for a period of 3 weeks. Everyday, one person brings the food(he mentioned it was a hour drive) and set it up professionally before 12 am. So by the time we break for lunch, the food is warm and waiting for us. He patiently explained the items to anyone who asked. Not just one day. He did that with extreme patience and politeness day after day. Everyday we had, 1) One salad with different dressing everyday 2) Two vegetables 3) One rice, pasta or baked dish 4) One meat - pork, roast beef, chicken 5) Two kinds of dessert. I was impressed by the quality and they maintained it day after day. That's what sets apart an experienced and seasoned catering providers who care about their reputation from others. And by the end of the meal, they cleanup nicely and you won't find a spec on the table. Having seen this, I was so impressed that I asked for their whereabouts and name to leave a review. They didn't have a yelp page, so, I created one for them. They do corporate as well as personal caterings(for weddings, birthdays celebrations). I phoned Christine twice & told her that I was looking for hors d'oeuvres & drinks for a party of 150 to 175. She said she would get back to me with a quote. I never heard from her. I phoned again about 2 weeks later & asked that she get back to me as to whether she did or did not want to cater the party. Again I have never heard from her. I will never call her again for any future events & will suggest to others that they find another if they are in search of one. I find it sad since I heard she was good. However, not returning phone calls to someone you told would get a quote is not okay. If she didn't want to do it, she should have had the courtesy to say so. Hired Catering By Christine for my wedding 6/6/15. They were unbelievable. After doing a number of tastings it was clear their food is the best around. The actual wedding day lived up to the tasting experience and then some. Our guests raved about the passed hors d'oeuvres, the main dishes were cooked well, consistent, and came out on time. All of our 150 guests were served within a few minutes of one another. They were super aware of a few food allergies without being reminded. Crissy was attentive the entire night, too. Her staff was great, kept the drinks flowing, and really kept and eye on myself and the bride to make sure we were eating and never without a drink. All in all a really great experience. The food was overcooked, cold and they did not bring enough. I also had the added benefit of listening into Pete Biondi's conversation with his assistant. He said the location and decorations for the Wedding were tacky. He also criticized the parents for letting daughter get Married because he believed she was too young. Pete Biondi catered an event at Trubull Mall and a Wedding at East Haven Lighthouse The wedding: (which he described as a "tacky venue" in earshot of the brides family) - the wedding got food poisoning... The event at the Mall didn't have enough food to go around... which may have been a good thing after the wedding experience... maybe this is why his restaurant in Milford closed? Fear not though. My sister hired this caterer for her wedding over the weekend and they were spectacular! It was a hot day and as we were taking photos they came over with food and water for the bridal party! They were very professional and the food was delicious. We got a lot of compliments. We also decided to do a last minute toast and the Manager (I believe her name was Adriana) was so gracious about setting up the champagne and cups for us. My husband Brian and I were married recently at Penfield Beach. Catering By Christine went above and beyond for our guests and us, making our day more than a dream. From the initial point of contact they were professional, responsive and reassuring. Our tasting was the exact of what was served to all 140 of our guests. Guests are still raving about the food, bar and service. Emma our point of contact for the day really took our vision and made it happen. Her constant smile, calm composure and reassurance allowed Brian and I to fully enjoy our day and our guests. Her gentile reminders to eat and drink were so necessary as the nerves and excitement took over our minds. The appetizers were amazing and fun, something my guests were so impressed by. For dinner we chose to do a dual plate of filet and salmon and it was a total success. It was served within 15 minutes allowing more time for dancing. There are so many parts to a wedding, but only a few are "critical" components necessary for success; catering is definitely one of them. Catering by Christine delivered in a big way to ensure that our wedding at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven was an enormous success. Our guests were full of compliments about the food, the presentation, the staff, everything. We had a Chinese - Italian wedding and to meet the hunger needs of all our guests, we decided to go with stir fry and pasta serving stations. They were a huge hit! Those cuisines are very different from one another, but Catering by Christine made sure they had the flavor and authenticity to satisfy natives from both sides of the family. We were actually a bit nervous going into it because we know how critical our families can be, but we had absolutely no complaints and more compliments than we can remember. We had a variety of other foods as well, all of which were a huge hit, including the prime rib carving station, the hors d'oeuvres, soups that were to die for (lobster bisque and New England clam chowder), and a cheese spread that was devoured. The way they ran the serving stations was seamless! We were concerned that there would be long lines, confusion, and a gaggle of people waiting for their food, but as Pete (from Catering by Christine) promised, it was run with top notch efficiency! The bar was awesome! The bartenders were competent and knew how to make a variety of drinks, offered several beer options, as well as our signature cocktail. There were never lines, the bartenders moved quickly and were often ahead of the game, remembering people's orders from their previous drink. As the bride and groom, we were assigned personal butlers who made sure we were never hungry, never without a drink, and always catered to throughout the night. Before the wedding day we had heard many times that you don't get a chance to enjoy the food at the wedding and it's mostly true, you're so busy you don't get a chance. But with this special personalized service, they made sure we had food whenever we wanted and our drinks were never empty! Catering by Christine is a family run place, operated by Pete and his wife Christine. We worked with Pete for the majority of our experience and we were very pleased with his professionalism, ability and willingness to work with us on everything from price to food choices and recipes to all the little details we wouldn't have even thought of without his guidance. He was more than happy to add our little touches that made the wedding unique to us, helped with the setup of those little extras, and did his part to make sure everything went smoothly and we could just be there to enjoy our special day.
