Made famous by legendary names such as Buddy's, Jet's, Hungry Howie's and Cottage Inn, Bobbi's right here in New Haven, CT has brought that favor to the east coast! 1: We started out with the Toadstool which is a white pizza with sweet potatoes, mushroom confit and baby kale. Eh, this was a wild take, but it worked okay-ly. Lol. My wife didn't want a bunch of processed meats on her pizza, so I respect her choice, even though she gave up the red sauce for this one. 2: Next we were able to try the Butter Chicken which contains Sherkaan's (Indian restaurant next door) makhani sauce, tandoori chicken, yogurt drizzle and cilantro. THIS WAS FANTASTIC. It's not a traditional Detroit-style pizza, but it's out there, creative, fun and it worked very well! 3: MMMYYY pizza was The Notorious Truffle, which was a limited time special. However, the tomatoes on it were raw and that didn't feel very good. Also, there were no condiments offered on the side- like oregano- is that normal in a pizza place? Had the buffalo chicken sub. It was pretty good with blue cheese crumbles, not just blue cheese dressing. The side order of fries was huge. They offer Heinz ketchup which is nice vs some food service brand. Wish it had been the Heinz Simply Ketchup without HFCS. But I'm nit-picking. Service was prompt and friendly. Overall, a good experience. TVs at the bar usually feature sports but just news when I was there.
