Ankle is far too narrow. I don't know who the measure of these boots for, but it wasn't me. I've lost 100 pounds since I got fitted

STAY AWAY. Similar to the other one star reviews here, my boots were much too small. Could barely get my feet in. Downright painful. They are far too small, despite the fact that I've lost large amount of weight between being measured for the boots and receiving them. The ankle part is too narrow. I don't know who's ankles they measure them for, but there's no way that these would ever fit me. I was given the runaround from the owner. Refuses to refund, states they will remake the boots instead. A complete waste of $900. And the boots are worthless because they are "custom made" for me. Beware the fine print in the invoice. It was the first thing they went to when I said I didn't want the boots. I've been wearing them for weeks trying to "break them in". I ended up developing a sore on top of my toe. This left a scar on my foot. I have no desire to keep these boots. They placed all the burden on the customer. Making the customer wait and have to go for refits. Where am I going to get a refit? Next year? Even if I didn't wanna go to the Renfaire, I would have to pay admission to get re-fitted? Seems pretty stupid to me . I regret this purchase completely.

After years of going to faires in cheap Birkenstock knock-offs causing all kinds of terrible heel pain for weeks on end, I finally decided to hook myself up with some real shoes. First off, Catskill Mountain Moccasins had the nicest salespeople at Arizona Renaissance Faire. I went into the other bootmakers and was greeted with either just getting handed a brochure and a passive-aggressive comment about how expensive their products are or total silence and idle stares. Took a few steps into Catskill's booth and was not only greeted, but swept into some friendly discourse. Did another lap or two around the faire before knowing for sure they were the one for me. Was measured and fitted so my mid-calf, four-button moccasins would perfectly hug only my feet and ankles, and then went through all the many customizing options. It was well worth missing such a big chunk of our day at the faire (and by the way, Arizona is my favorite; I only get to go once a year; losing that much time in my happy place is a big deal.) Altogether my order came out to just under $650. Paid down the three-quarters of the cost it takes to guarantee my inclusion on the production list and they gave a delivery date of July 2016. I paid off the rest a couple weeks ago when I had the chance, and Lynn, the man making my moccasins, gave me a call with a few questions about my soles last Monday. While I wished I could have my moccasins within SoCal faire's season, I figured it'd at least be cool having them before next year. SURPRISE! My moccasins showed up last night and good god are they wonderful. The insides are lined with soft sheep skin and I love the contrast of the redwood, tobacco, and black bull leathers with my walnut-dyed antler buttons. Best of all, I get to wear them at the faire this weekend. We went from order to delivery in under two months with the finished product on my feet two months early. Outstanding! I gave them a good walk around after making sure to watch the instructional video for lacing them and now I've got them hanging up so the leather can breathe. Customer service, communication, quality of the moccasins, fit, speediness. All good.

So, I asked my mom where can I get him Red Wings or Thorogood's around here and she said we need to go to Montano's in Saugerties, so off we went. Montano's has been around since 1906, wow that is long time! They provide professional fitting services, Pedorthic care, and specialized inventory targeted to foot health support. Montano's has a variety of high-quality work-boot brands including Red Wing, Chippewa, Thorogood, Danner, Irish Setter, and Timberland. They have a variety of athletic and hiking footwear brands such as Merrell, Keen, Hoka, On Running, and Salomon. There is a selection catered to casual and comfort as well; brands include Dansko, Birkenstock, Blundstone, UGG, and Vionic. Fair warning, it's not cheap to shop here. You are buying pretty much the best-of-the-best with a professional service. Some of these work boots are easily $200+ and the specialty insoles are running $65+ so keep that in mind when shopping. I was able to kill two birds with one stone by buying my stepdad his birthday present and my mom a new pair of shoes for Mother's Day. It wasn't cheap but they are worth it, plus I don't get to see them as much as I would like. The Red Wings he chose were $200, the specialty insoles cost $65 and Mom's shoes were $120. All the items are of high quality and should last them until my next visit, lol. Staff were very friendly and helpful. From the moment we walked in we were treated with respect and one of the associates accommodated both my family members with all of their fitting needs. I just purchased a new pair of Keens recently for work but I was really interested in trying out a pair of Thorogood's. The problem is if I tried them on, I probably would have bought them. I just don't need another pair now but the selection here seems like an excellent choice for a future work boot. I might be back next year once I ware my Keens out. All-in-all, Montano's Shoe Store is an excellent spot to find great service and high-quality footwear for any occasion. I highly recommend visiting them if you in Saugerties shopping.

Adventure gear or not, Kenco is the place to shop for fly fishing, boating, hunting, camping and so…read moremany other supplies. But if you haven't experienced those outdoor adventures, Kenco is way more than that. When we've vacationed in the Catskills throughout the seasons and have accidentally forgotten to pack either my shorts, winter gloves, rain boots or anything else, Kenco, slightly off Rt 28 in Kingston, has been the place to come to for those. Kenco is a privately-owned and independent company staying true to their number one priority-provide customers with the highest quality products- that can handle any weather condition up here in the Catskills. The store is massive with women's clothing on one side, men's on another- then their other departments follow. And yes, prices are steep- but these folks carefully select their products and only want to sell reliable gear/clothing that will last for years to come. My husband especially loves their 100% thick cotton, long sleeve pull-on shirts he uses when it's frigid- and he's had them for a while now and still look good as when I first purchased them. Now that we own a home in the Catskills, this is where we come for clothes that are more neutral- with an almost minimalist feel. But this is also the place to make all your outdoor dreams come true. .
