And all the while being very personable and pleasant and open to my suggestions and desire for props and cute baby positions. I was left with a ton of images, the next one somehow cuter than the last and a fantastic one that we used for the baby party invite. We received so many compliments - people seriously amazed at how our little one was captured at only 2 weeks of age with a huge smile. Not only would I rather put together my own books, frames, etc...I'd rather not be charged an arm and a leg to collect all the pictures to do so. It was a hard and overwhelming task because there are a lot of talented ones in Chicago. No one matched her quality for her price, in my opinion, and her artistic eye combined with the gorgeous and striking way she makes black and white photos look and color photos so beautifully vivid made me sure she was the right choice for us! We've received so many compliments on our wedding photos. People have been saying, "You have the BEST wedding photos!!" and so on, and each photo she gave us really is a beautiful work of art. We hired Kristina to do our engagement session and wedding photography. We were truly stunned with her talent. She is extremely laid back and makes her clients 100% comfortable with the cameras (in our case, Jon had a few glasses of wine before our engagement shoot to loosen up!). She is amazing at catching the "real" moments of your special day - she studied ecology and got her Masters in behavior which explains her amazing 6th sense of anticipating these magic moments. She listens to you as a couple to figure out what makes you tick before doing any shoots. She is able to realize what elements will truly reflect you two as a couple. She will do posed shots if requested, but the beauty of these shots are the little moments that you didn't even realize were happening. Wiping a tear, laughing uncontrollably during the best man speech, grandparents holding hands, little girls looking at the bride in awe, detail shots of everything from the floral to the table set up to the name cards to the appetizers to the event space. She and her team are constantly watching and waiting from different angles and lenses and locations to catch the true moments and true spirit of your day. Its those little moments in between the planned parts of the day that really make these photos come to life and set her talent above and beyond any we have seen before. The one thing you will have forever from your wedding day are these pictures, so don't skimp on the talent. Its worth it. We had two photographers for 10 hours. She took 2,000 photos and then edits all of them. You have the choice (which we did) to purchase the digital negatives. This way we are able to put them on both of our parents computers and let them print the ones they want. We also are finalizing our leather art book which Kristina is a master at designing. The perfect commemoration of our perfect wedding day! Not only is Kristina a joy to be around and ridiculously talented - she has fantastic ideas of where to shoot to capture the best of the best in our city. We shot our engagement pictures near North Ave Beach and in front of the Wrigley Building. On our wedding day she started in the suite with myself and my bridesmaids getting ready while Aaron took photos of the groomsmen. Then the first time Jon and I saw each other, both photographers were there to get my reaction and Jon's at the same time in Olive Park with luscious greenery and nature surrounding. A quick walk with the entire bridal party to overlooking Oak Street Beach with the city and the lake in the background. Our final offsite location was on Franklin Street Bridge to give us that urban city feel. We feel like we got the best Chicago has to offer because of Kristina's expertise and advice. Kristina is also extremely environmentally conscious and uses recycled paper for stationary and paperless proofs. I really can't say enough praises about her. Photography was our number one priority when choosing vendors, and it was worth every single penny. She captured our wedding in a way I've never seen done so beautifully. Since the wedding was quickly approaching, we didn't get a chance to meet Brittany until the morning of our day. She seemed very friendly over email - but what if we didn't click? Would she understand what we wanted? I was nervous. The very moment Brittany and Esther (hand-selected by Brittany to be our second photographer) walked in, my fears were immediately put to rest. They were vibrant, happy and oh so warm and friendly! They went to work straight away, and without even asking... they somehow knew every shot I wanted as if they were reading my mind. I gave Brittany and Esther the hardest task of all: Try and coral all our wedding guests (about 90 people) after our ceremony for a group photo. This would be intimidating to anyone. My young nephews were losing steam QUICKLY and our guests were itching for the refreshing cocktails located just steps away. But somehow this impossible task was completed in only 10-15 minutes - and Brittany and Esther did everything under the sun to make sure everyone (especially my nephews) were laughing and smiling the whole time.
