Then comes Sear, the newest steak house in Banawe. Sear offers high-quality steaks at very affordable prices. Even at its soft opening, Sear doesn't disappoint. Being a large group, we ordered most of their menu. We tried Seafood Lasagna Negra, Halibut, Breaded Shrimp, Roast Lamb, Steak Classic, and their specialty, USDA Angus Ribeye on Stone Grill. We got confused with the solo and double orders for their pasta, but it's nothing to worry about as we enjoyed the dish. We thought that the latter was bigger, but it turned out, solo is one dish and double is two dishes. The seafood lasagna negra is a seafood bounty. The pasta is filled with scallop, fish, shrimp, and squid, but really generous on the scallops. The sauce is squid ink and coconut milk which made it so creamy, then topped with really gooey mozzarella cheese. The halibut did not disappoint as well. For the price listed, I thought the serving would be too little to recognize, but it was big enough to go over the plate. The halibut is fresh, tender, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. Breaded shrimp is tempura-style shrimp which doesn't go yuck when cold. Roast Lamb is fragrant and tender, like a roast lamb should be. I wasn't able to try the steak classic but judging from the plate, it was delicious. At Sear, a customer's experience is also important. That is why, they offer a Stone Grill Series. It is basically your choice of steak, cooked on a stone grill, and at your table. Everything is fresh, even the aroma. The server is trained to cook these steaks to your liking. Apart from what we had, they also gave us complimentary soup, salad, and dessert. It was really a great experience!

We ordered a medium rare porterhouse which came out well done, there were no pink meat to it! Breaded shrimp (tempura) was the only dish we enjoyed. Expected more especially from a restaurant who is supposed to specialize in steaks.

While…read morelocated in the off-skirt of Banawe, in Ubay, it is already becoming the new secret hangout place of people in the area. Thus, its name Neighborhood Game Cafe is very apt. They are one of the new board game place that is sprouting in the metro, offering not just games for avid boarding gaming community, but also a wide variety of casual game sets that made the place a go-to place for families young and old. Their place itself has a welcoming ambiance that people just want to stay. Aside from the game board, they do have a interesting coffee selection drinks. If you are adventurous enough, order the H.A.L.F - where you just give a little faith to the barista to come up with a surprising good drink that is perfect for you. On that day, I got an Oreo Match Ice Blended drink. Delicious! Not that sweet but you get the full flavor of Oreo in Matcha. As for the food, they offer good variety of rice meals and a few pasta and varied flavor of wings. A must try is their salted egg chicken wings. You get the goodness of salted egg flavor with mild kick that is surprisingly good combi for wings. For their pasta, they use angel hair and they offer two flavors, adobo flakes for that more asian salty flavor, and orange pasta, the more traditional cheesy pasta. For their rice meal, recommendable to try is their Silog Trio (Tapa, Longanisa and Tocino) in one dish for those who are looking for familiar comfort food as well as their Baked Rice Duo (half of which is tomato porkchop and the other half is creamy seafood). While there are still room for improvement on their food offerings, for a shop in their soft opening, they are off with a good start.

Most of their board games also caters to group games, rather than just playing alone. The cafe is spacious and even has special dividers for private function. Like any other board game cafes, the thing that will make you stay is the food. Neighborhood Game Cafe has dishes with American and Filipino influences. Stand outs would be their Salted Egg Chicken Wings, salty and spicy, who onew these would match? Another one I liked is their Orange Pasta. It is called that way because it looked color orange. This pasta dish is cheesy and a little sweet, perfect for any kids or kids-at-heart. For a healthier choice, try the Creamy Seafood Baked Rice or the Baked Rice Duo (combination of tomato porkchop and creamy seafood), it is a match made in heaven. Seafood is generous and the cream is flavorful, perfect pairing with the rice. The cafe offers coffee and non-coffee drinks as well. I took a leap of faith and ordered their H.A.L.F., which is a surprise drink that their baristas will make. For my visit, I got Matcha Oreo. It was delicious as both flavors can be tasted. I love the oreo bites in the drink as well. The cafe has free wifi, and parking of their own. A really cool and new place to hang out and play with friends. Looking forward to my next visit.

Nonetheless, I decided to give it a try. The interior of this branch is very relaxing. The decorations, the design of the tables and the hall itself resemble the traditional design of Chinese restaurants, but the use of light colors and bright lighting makes one feel at ease here. The service is very timely and cordial. This restaurant is perfect for large groups of people celebrating birthdays, baptisms, and other life events. If you are looking for a relatively quiet dining place, this is not your cup of tea. Keeping with its Chinese theme, Luk Foo offers a wide variety of classic Chinese foods, such as yang chow rice, Chinese-style chicken, dumplings, and pancit canton. Whether your order is for solo meals or groups, the servings are really large. In fact, our group went home with a lot of leftovers that were consumed the next few days. Customers will have their appetites satisfied and they all taste delicious. I particularly enjoyed its version of cream dory, which is crispy and tender at the same time. The meals are also really cheap given the serving size. Honestly, this may be one of the most affordable restaurants I have ever been in. If you are in the Caloocan area craving for Chinese food with your friends and family, Luk Foo in Puregold Caloocan is probably the best Chinese-themed restaurant in the area.
